    SNOT in 1983

... sense... I really should finish typing before I submit a post... *wacko*
  4. Not wise to question Admins publicly...
  5. The second pic in the gallery shows they open inward ;-) While we're at it, here's one with interior: And another one: (Click pictures for galleries)
  6. Didn't take too long, here's the first Cafe Corner MOC: (Click thumb for larger picture) From the pieces it looks like a MOC. Looks very lively. Maybe that's the way to go to for those who don't like the color discrepancies and bad parts: order from bricklink and build your own. There's enough pictures around for skilled builders to come up with something decent like this. And thanks to dunamis we know how the arch with the skis is made ;-)
  7. Very old style, nice *y* I like how you made the big tires on the red SUV, that's innovative :-D
  8. It's not the first time I read about the graphics card problem. What this comes down to, though, is that without an up-to-date computer (or a not-too-old one) you cannot buy the 10183 Train set since you can't download the additional instructions (unless you care only for the crocodile). So, if you're overly pedantic, you'd have to add the price of a decent graphics card to the train set *wacko* The recommendations read a bit... well... how the heck does this tool utilize a 256 MB card?! These card ain't that cheap... can't imagine a smaller card doesn't do what the stronger does. I have a 64 MB shared card on a laptop and it works...
  9. That's one of my favorite Town houses of the good old days *wub*

    SNOT in 1983

Funny, five minutes ago when I built the carriage of my 6379 Riding Stable I thought the same thing. By that definition - yes, SNOT has been around since this piece has been :-$ I was just surprised about how the headlight piece was used in the waggon design (tilted 90 degrees)...
  11. Huh... since I don't have a definite layout plan yet you never know how handy that might come in. So, if it's reasonably priced (< 10 Euro), yes please *sweet*

    SNOT in 1983

It did. But I think SNOT refers to the technique, i.e. using bricks so that you can attach other bricks at angles other than "from above". Did that makes? *wacko*
  13. I know you guys are mostly SW "freaks" ;-) but I have two (2) 8868 Airtech Claw Rigs to sell/trade (complete with instructions, no box). Anybody interested? Also, if someone of you has weird looking LEGO pieces lying around that resemble anything like this... .. that's 12 Volt train tracks, and I'd take it X-D
  14. Lovely, reminds me of the good old Classic Castle. As Ras said, not just a MOC, but a MOC with tons of details "hidden" in it. Good job *y*

    SNOT in 1983

While browsing the instruction scans on brickfactory I stumbled upon an alternate model of one of the waggons of 7727 and noticed that it used SNOT: (Click thumb for larger picture) I know that that "Legal techniques" builders guide mentions the USS Constellation as an example which is a set from the late 1970s. But I don't really consider what they used ("sticking" a gray 1x2 plate between two studs) SNOT as we know it today. This waggon, though, IMO clearly is SNOT. Just wanted to point it out since I didn't expect to see something like that in a 1980s set... Anybody know of anything SNOTty that old? Or older?
  16. Very, very nice! "Old school style", reminds me of the 1990s harbor sets. And I can feel the beach breeze *sweet* I'm always amazed by the various tree building techniques. That's another one. Wish I could do that... or at least get myself around trying ;-)
  17. LOL That is awesome! Great work, SW4J *y* :-D :-D :-D
  18. I'm always amazed how people like to fiddle around with Minifigs, or normal bricks too. I don't have the patience for that. Looks great *y*
  19. My advice: forget that one. The "gap issue" will only annoy you (see review on ILTCO and other brickshelf pics). From what I've read the piece has been taken out of production and will not be used again. Try to get a copy of 4511 and use red bricks for an ICE look, you'll be happier in the long run ;-)
  20. Meaning?
  21. Well, The LEGO Chief always has the last say, so I guess you could say it's a guy... ;-)
  22. The LEGO Company, in the US also referred to as TLG, The LEGO Group. More TLAs to be found in The EB Glossary.
  23. Welcome to EB Mr. Hobbles! Good to see another T&T fan join. You're right, LEGO has changed a lot over the past few years. And I know very well about the dent in the wallet :'-( ;-) Hope you enjoy EB like we all do :-) Now I have to watch out I don't confuse your name with my own *wacko*
