Hi all, after all the moving is done I'm going to get at my project of building a Town/Train layout in my new LEGO room. Looking forward to that :) Now, I haven't decided on a track layout yet, but I do know that I don't want to build it on the floor. Meaning: I need "tables". Does anybody of you have tips or tricks on how to get at that? Buy cheap tables? "Build" my own (any tips on what material)? Which height? And so on... Lots of pictures on brickshelf show "elevation systems" that look self-built. Well, I do parts of home-improvement myself but, as I'm not a carpenter, building a stable "table-system" doesn't sound that easy to me... Any info is very much appreciated. Thx :)

Close enough, it's "Sauerkraut" ;)

The folder "above" it says "Vergleich" which is german and means "comparison". He probably wanted to show how boring MegaBloks is compared to LEGO. So I guess it's OK in this case...

I've out done my BlockDeath.com find...

 This discussion is boring. I don't know why on eeeveryyyy message board there's at least one thread like this. There are Admins here who decide if a post sticks or not. If you don't like their decisions, well, then it's up to you to stay around. If you do you have to live with it. Discussions like this are more counterproductive to the community than an arguable offensive post... PS: If the links on the website hadn't said "Porn" I wouldn't have recognized "it" at once. They just looked like weird/funny pics... -

That explains your signature... Or is "sucka" cat-lingo? -
46 %... uh... well... less than I hoped but about what I expected... the right answers would be nice, though...

Well, that's me. I've done almost 100 eBay-deals (95 % LEGO) over the past 12 months and never had any problems. But that's probably because people trading LEGO are the good guys in the eBay-world :-D But the bidding now is too high now to be a bargain for me. Guess, that means TRU will get a visit from me today. I like that feeling of buying LEGO myself better anyways *satis*

Anybody seen this on fbtb (images are clickable)? I don't wanna advertise them but it fits here and I haven't found an existing thread about it...

They're just words. If you don't take 'em seriously they can be funny.

How could I miss this thread - it's hilarious :D -
I'm not that worried about his not-yet-existing feedback. I rather see it as an opportunity to make a bargain because most people don't bid on items from beginners. But somebody's already bidding anyways >:(

I just found this auction on eBay Germany. Unfortunately he doesn't use pics (for whatever reason) but he says he guarantees that the thing is MISB. He sells a few more Adventurers sets. Shipping within Europe is EUR 17.00. And no, that's not me advertising my auctions ;) PS: And dare anybody bid on his 7249 - that's mine *twisted*

I like 'em. A lot, actually. Isn't that what everybody else wanted - back to using generic bricks? I like them droids. As well as the Crawler - that thing looks huge! :oo

Good post and the reason why I haven't answered yet - and won't (no offense to the thread starter!). I've given it thought, lots of it, but couldn't come up with impartial enough answers. Of course, everybody has their favorites, but if this is going to TLC (or TLG - which is correct, btw?) it shouldn't be too subjective and my answers would have been. Basically I agree with 95 % of above answers...

Because I haven't seen any other sets than these 5 (I don't own a BSB but I've seen one "in reality" and know what it looks like) and didn't want to presume to judge by pictures (is that english?)...
-
It'll never be resolved. To me both are in 3rd place. Hence there is no 4th place in my list. Sorry that I can't be more specific *satis*

Eldorado Fortress and Imperial Trading Post are both on 3rd place. I left out 4th place because if there's a tie usually the next place to the tie is left out. I've seen this on official sports rankings so I used it, too :) As for BSB and SES: i like ships and both are great looking so I put them there. And because I don't know any other sets "in reality" I only ranked these five. But as I said, it's a greenhorn-ranking ;)

Just having recently started getting some Pirates sets my list looks like this: 1. SES Great ship, first place because it's a ship and it's BIG 2. BSB Very close behind, looks great, second only because it's a bit smaller 3. Eldorado Fortress and Imperial Trading Post I can't decide between those two, I just like both of 'em. In favor of ITP is that it comes with a small sailing ship. There's great detail and lots of minifigs in both. 5. Sabre Island Got two, makes a nice little stand-alone set, lots of accessories for its size I own all of the above but BSB (which I probably won't pursue cos I don't have enuff space) and don't know any other sets excpet from pictures. And, of course, I'm just a Pirate-greenhorn ;)

I am registered at LUGNET and legofan.org but I have yet to post there. And I don't know when that will be - or if at all. I do read posts now and then but I just don't... I dunno... I just don't wanna post ;) Here I had my first post right after I registered (the "Hello! My Name is..."-forum helped it, though). Once that is done the rest develops itself. The "reactions" of the members here and the overall "atmosphere" of the boards is much more friendly than elsewhere and made me wanna stay and take part in conversations. That hasn't happened yet at LUGNET or legofan.org. LUGNET became very serious and - as stupid as it sounds - I don't dare post there... As gylman already mentioned: you can argue here, but it's not too serious and different opinions are accepted. I felt "home" here pretty quickly :D

I used to have a cat but she died a long time ago. Now this is (one of) my pet(s): Don't really count, though, huh?
