  1. It seems the guys at "Mostly Bricks" got the real box set of 5981 already, as revealed from their flickr (Their Flickr)
  2. As known from Brickset, a LEGO fan named Chad already got and made review for 8058 and 8060 at the website "Mostly Bricks": 8060 Review 8058 Review Some (not all) of the pictures are as below, please refer to "Mostly Bricks" for the original full reviews: For 8060: For 8058: Enjoy!
  3. Thanks legomilk for the outbreaking news!!! So do you mean actually 10211 is an old-style bank? Rather than a shop?
  4. For small promotional sets like this one, you probably could get one by having really good luck to have some LEGO promotional events carried out at your country, or pay a unreasonably high price at Bricklink and/ or eBay, etc. (However, I don't see Bricklink has it available for sale now.) I would recommend you gather/ buy the bricks necessary for the set and build it yourself, especially you actually manage to find the instruction online, as the number and rarity of the bricks required are usually easy to deal with. Of course, that is not exactly what you want probably...
  5. Thanks, EDGE! I love your blog and keep watching it for LEGO information from Japan. Please keep your good work!
  6. Based on the actual Japanese wordings and as I mentioned in the first post, def (and Gamer) should be correct about the number of bricks (larger quantity) and pieces of paper for those new products. @ IlikePi : Google often does a very rough and even misleading work in respect of translation. Don't trust it too much.
  7. This could be a better official page for the give-away.
  8. Known from LEGO-KEI, a Japanese LEGO related website, it is announced that a famous Japanese chain store called MUJI has teamed up with LEGO to offer a rather new concept product, paper x LEGO sets! Based on observation on the display, I guess the concept is: using a tailor-made puncher to make some holes on some handcraft paper of various shape, and then putting LEGO bricks on the paper to build up some models. It is announced that there will be 4 sets, each with at least 120 LEGO bricks and a few pieces of paper, for sale in late November. A specialized puncher will also be offered for purchase at the same time. Further official information from MUJI (in Japanese) can be found here: MUJI I think it is a rather new and creative concept to make these products, although they are not what traditional LEGO is. Quite interesting actually!

  10. If you play City theme like me, you must prefer diversity! You don't want to have all citizens have the same look, definitely City theme is the one most desiring for diversity in minifigs...

That I don't know. whung might be able to help if 3181 instruction book had really been uploaded early, but I doubt that... It also seems I failed to give enough highlight on 3180, 7206 and 7213 pictures in my original message so some of you might have missed them. Highlighted below again: For your 2010 buying plan, the price at that Holland sales website for the new sets are: 3179 Truck Repair € 12.99 3180 Tanker € 19.99 3181 Passenger Plane € 39.98 3182 City Airport € 89.99 7206 Fire Helicopter € 34.99 7207 Fire Boat € 49.99 7208 Fire Station € 69.99 7213 Firetruck and off-road boat € 39.99 7684 Pigs Farm and Tractor € 29.99

My observation after looking into magnified photos: The small black-white car actually is 3177. 3179 is the utility repair vehicle. The windows on the upper floor of the fire station looks huge, especially if you compare them to the doors on the lower floor! The stretcher looks bigger than the existing white one, if you compare it to the minifigs? The wings seem using TWO large pieces as the skeleton, with cosmetics on top and at ends.
  13. Thanks whung again for the discovery. Quoted from the LEGO official website, I add some more official description of 10199: Celebrate the holidays with this festive scene! The holidays are coming, and that means a busy time in the toy maker’s workshop! This scene from a winter wonderland includes a charming shop filled with tools, toys, and even a light-up tower window. Outside, minifigures sing carols by the bench and lamppost, ski on the snow drifts, build a snowman and play with snowballs, and decorate the giant Christmas tree with a star, lights and gift-wrapped presents around the base. The Winter Toy shop features hard-to-find elements including a transparent yellow star, transparent globe elements to create a vintage lamp, dark tan tiles, light FX brick, new black 1x2x3 windows and a new caroler minifigure face. Includes 7 minifigures, cat, snowman, jack-in-the-box, stuffed animal, toy train, robot and toy car! Christmas tree measures 6.3" (16 cm) tall and 4.3" (11 cm) wide! Built in LEGO® Town Plan style, it is a set to extend and build upon throughout the year! (Any hidden meaning or implication? ... ) Also, I captured a back view of the toy shop for more insight about how the light brick is put and the upper floor looks.

My humble comments on the new sets: 3177 - actually is a small "smart car"...! 3179 - not bad, but a bit oversimplistic than I thought 3180 - good looking, but without much details 7207 - actually exceed my expectation, good design and outlook 7208 - better than originally thought 7213 - strange monster! a huge fire service car with a lifting arm to lift a big rubber boat??? the fire service version of 7726??? Some small findings on the new pictures: The windows at the upper floor of the fire station seem somehow bigger than the existing ones, if you compare them to the doors at the lower floor The stretcher also seems bigger than the existing white ones, if you compare it to the minifig scale. Or my eyes are just bad?

Thanks to reputable professional player from my local LEGO fans website (minifigs.net),official box photos of quite some of the 2010 new sets, including some unseen before, have been discovered: The images are re-directed from other LEGO fan's Brickshelf - http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=403937 Photos which include images of 3177 - 3182 , 7207, 7208 , based on the somehow early uploaded instruction of 3182 in LEGO website A Holland's LEGO sales website also contains preliminary pictures of 3180 , 7206 , 7213. 3180, 7206, 7213 Enjoy!
  16. Thanks for everyone's feedback. Resizing done. Hope you guys can enjoy more comfortably! @Batbrick: I didn't intend to build it as a lobster, it just became to look like pretty much a lobster when I finished the first version. When I refined it a bit into the final one, I did intentionally use the dark red wedges at the sides of the roller though to keep "consistent" with its lobster outlook...
  17. I have been interested in LEGO City construction vehicles including road roller. However, 7746 is really too big and looks like a monster, while the newly launched 30003 is probably unaccessible... As such, I built the following MOC recently. Major characteristics include: 1. Medium-size with comparable scale to the smaller 7630 and 7631 official-design construction vehicles instead of 7746 or 7685 2. Main colour theme using red and dark red, with black and grey to assist 3. Roller mainly comprising technic parts, connected to vehicle body by a rotation joint which makes it freely turning left or right 4. Roller truly able to roll on road when the vehicle moves I found the vehicle somehow looks really like a small lobster, probably because of the red colour theme and the roller using wedges at the sides, and so I named it "the Lobster". One obvious weakness of my MOC is the roller not having "smooth" rolling drum, but that was because I don't really have enough this part : Hope you enjoy and appreciate any positive or negative comments. Thanks! More photos in my Brickshelf: Alywin's Brickshelf The major strength of this vehicle is being not excessively bulky, as demonstrated by its length. The front view really looks like a lobster... Its heavy duty of workload requires a correspondingly powerful engine! Mechanisms have been added to facilitate our minifig worker to go into the steering compartment. The roller is capable of turning left and right by using a rotation joint. Its scale is comparable to 7630 and 7631. Thanks again for watching!
  18. Just in case no one yet has mentioned, I guess they are mostly for hanging on Christmas trees, except for 40000... From Brickset - Christmas small sets Original quote: Four new "Seasonal" sets have just been released, in the previously unused 40xxx set number range - #40000 - Cool Santa (£7.99UK) #40001 - Father Christmas Ornament (£2.95UK) #40002 - X-Mas Tree Ornament (£2.96UK) #40003 - Snowman Ornament (£2.95UK) These aren't on LEGO Store online just yet, but are starting to appear in LEGO Brand Stores.
  19. At least one thing is demonstrated: One smart at LEGO building (not just playing or collecting though) must not be a dumb person overall.
  20. That I totally have no idea about. Sorry... But anyway promotional sets have been made available quite "exclusively" on particular markets and/ or for special purposes. In Hong Kong, small promotional sets have been given out by LEGO company just as free gift or reward for certain customer events (e.g. 4991 4992), so it would not suprise me if they are for some "exclusive" thing. By the way, you have become Grimfang...
  21. Seems whung has less love in City than SW... Thanks to whung, actually it is also found that City has 3 more new promotional items 30001, 30002, 30003, in addition to the previously discovered 30000. I knew from whung at Minifigs.net . Pictures are from whung's brickself, but the original sources should be the same as those for SW, i.e. LEGO.com instructions database Personally I think 30001 is very cute , while 30003 is quite creative and could be easily modified to be a nicer construction theme set . 30000 Doctors Car 30001 Firemans Car 30002 Police Boat 30003 Steam Roller
  22. Haha, 8036 is rather a simple build, and those 2 bricks are quite outstanding in shape not to be mistaken. And I did use up all the bricks except the extra parts. But thanks all, at least it sounds not an alternative part issue.
  23. Hi, everyone. Today I just got my 8036. However, when I was building it, I serached for 2 of the below parts according to the instructions, but in vain, instead I found nothing but 2 of these bricks in dark bluish gray... Are they alternative parts or pure an error? Much appreciate if you who own 8036 can kindly share with your experience. Thanks in advance!
  24. Thanks, pals. That change seems quite unnecessary at least from the user viewpoint...
  25. We have this door frame for ages (part# 30179) Door Frame 1 x 4 x 6 Type 1 Now since 2009, we got "Door Frame 1 x 4 x 6 Type 2" (part# 60596) So, could someone please let me know what the differences are between them? Thanks.
