I don't know exactly the exchange rate from South Africa currency to US$, but as I mentioned in my previous post, I noted the price information below: 7744 Police Station - R1277 (R=South Africa currency probably) 10197 Fire Brigade - R2061 8404 Fan Choice - R1180 So maybe that LEGO shop marks up the prices very much as compared to normal US MSRP and then a 7744 is being sold above US$160? I am not sure if we can just assume the prices there are comparable to the mainstream market and use direct currency exchange method to speculate on the prices of the new sets. With the above local price comparison (instead of currency translation), that was why I guessed the size of 8404 is probably equal to or a bit smaller than 7744 and it is likely not to be as large as a super big set with MSRP being US$150 in the US market. But of course I could be wrong.

Bricksets said 7848 is "similar" to 3221, not "the same". My wild guess, it could be like 2148 and 3442. They have the same structure but different colour schemes and appearances. 3221 is to transport LEGO specifically and 7848 is to transport other toys for TRU in general ...
  3. Whung found them and it is believed they are promotional, probably small bag ones. (The link in your original post to Whung's 2010 full set list at Minifigs.net seems to have some "syntax error" and doesn't work.)

The list is made and updated by whung at minifigs.net in Hong Kong, and I think whung has updated Eurobricks about the newly found sets also a few days ago (whung's previous post), except for 30010 Fire Chief which whung just found out today. For your information, 30010 is believed to be a small promotional set and no picutre is available yet. Minifigs.net 2010 Full Set List (I also think you should have quoted/ might wish to quote where the original source of the list is. )
  5. Today, in Hong Kong, TRU organizes the first day opening sale of 2010 sets. During the event, a poster of 2010 SW minifigure gallery (below) is given to customers. (original source of news: http://www.minifigs.net/forum/viewthread.php?tid=30826 ) The noteworthy thing is that, the poster includes some minifigs (Darth Vader, Imperial Officer, Shuttle Pilot, Luke Skywalker) which are said to belong to a set "10212". I am not a SW LEGO fan and so I have no idea which SW vehicle might contain these characters..., but I guess that means there will be another SW exclusive coming out in 2010. Enjoy the poster (original source from and credit to legocatcat from minifigs.net in Hong Kong - 2010 SW Minifigs from Hong Kong TRU ) I magnified the parts of the poster with images for those minifigs I am talking about: Edit: Add Luke Skywalker in 10212
  6. Brickset has recently added the feature to directly access to the PDF files of set instructions, if LEGO.com has them uploaded. I just tested it and it is working. See if Brickset can help you out.

7566 = the Farmer impulse set.
  8. I bought mine from an eBay seller last year. The seller told me that the set he was going to sell to me was a "special edition" and was 18+ instead of normally 5+. After I built it up and saw it in action, I (and you) then understood what he meant...
  9. Thanks for the review. 6671 is small but nonetheless very playful and with bright design! The worker of my 6671 set made use of his vehicle for more "abnormal" purposes...

I think 7848 and 8404 are very interesting, particularly relating to the well known TRU Exclusive set which we chose from the city square, public transportation centre, and truck stop. I have checked the price information at that South Africa website, noting that 8404 should be a big set, but it seems not super big like 10184 because the price is even a bit cheaper than the original price of 7744 Police Station (before discount). My fear is, with 3221 LEGO Truck, and 7848 TRU Truck (which sounds like a medium-sized set similar to 7686 with reference to its price as checked at that website), our TRU exclusive fan-choice set tends to be (the least preferred) Truck Stop!!! Another reason for my fear is that the price is not high enough and just does not seem right for a public transportation centre with monorail/ train station (the price could still be possible for a small city square though... ) For 8403, the price is for a medium-size set (smaller than 7641 based on price information), but nevertheless since it is in City theme, so it should be a very long belated return of minifig-dwelling, furnished with furniture and interior decoration house!!! Good luck, City fans... :skull:

According to Brickset (which has not even highlighted this news on its front page), one of the Advent Calendar sets for 2010 is City theme, and the set number is 2824. No picture or further information is available at the moment. I don't know the original source of information either.
  12. According to Brickset (which has not even highlighted this news on its front page), there will be 2 more Toy Story sets coming in 2010: 7598 Pizza Planet Truck Rescue 7599 Garbage Truck Getaway No picture or further information is available at the moment. I don't know the original source of information either. By the way, I just found out this is my 100th post which just made me become a Citizen in EB...
  13. Thanks for the review. I think the major defect of this house is having too little space for both the living room and the upper floor that you can't really add any decoration or furniture to adapt it to minifig-friendly. Even if the MSRP is US$44.99, with just 539 pieces, it is DIFFICULT to take 5891 as a value buy... sorry...

And it is much better than the previously known prototype! Extracted from the above source:
  15. Here is the picture for 7573 as sourced from the above, without any confidential mark:
  16. From what I can see from the photo, the cargo train set is a big monster set: - Yellow engine - 3 transport sections, one for oil tank, one for holding a small blue car, one for the yellow container - Include a red truck and green loading facility for cargo handling It is even crazier than 7898 in terms of content.
  17. The Shark Army (or Navy?? ) !!!! From LEGO catalogue in Japan
  18. Thanks, KimT for the information. I would much look forward to knowing the changes brought along with the name change to the existing Castle line! But just judging from the names of the 2010 new sets (which are pretty much along the same tone as 2008 or 2009 sets), it does not seem to have any significant new elements or impacts from the theme change to "Kingdoms"... Let's wait till further news coming out for the new LEGO Kingdoms...
  19. So do you mean "LEGO Castle" line has been confirmed to rename as "LEGO Kingdoms"?
  20. One noteworthy point of the picture is, at the right upper corner, it is said "Series 1". So it basically confirms the previous knowledge that there will be series 2 or more, other than the batch in the picture.
  21. Thanks for the quick review again. Nice small plane, but again a bit inflated price. But still a good complement to the new aeroplane series in the coming year.
  22. Thanks for the review! The car itself is lovely. The actual retail price at EUR4.99 is much more relieving than previous source indicating a price of US$9.99, though it still cannot be taken as reasonable, taking account of the number of pieces the set contains.
  23. So much coincidence... a batch of 16 new minifigures, with all the minifigures on the TLC new company name card also appear on those collector badges...!
  24. From Brickset (Brickset article), a quote from a Swedish LEGO fan site "legobloggen" talks about new minifigures series, which probably are about the thing we have been speculating on this chain posts? The Swedish LEGO blog legobloggen has an interesting bit of news about a collectable series of minifigs to be available next year: "In June 2010, Lego will launch a new collectors series with only minifigs. The figures will be of various types, but is reportedly not being those from current themes. They could be anything from cowboys to ninjas or adventurers, etc. The first wave will appear in stores in June, reportedly contain 16 different characters. These will then be replaced by 16 other figures in August. "Figures will be sold in opaque polybags, so it is chance that determines which figure you get. This is the same approach as in the example trading cards. The bag with the figure will cost 25 SEK. May seem much given to impulse setter costs only £ 5 more and then there is also the accessories. But I suspect that the high price is because the characters will be unique to this collector series and that they will only be produced in two months (at least the first wave)." (thanks et314 for the news and translation) This is very interesting, but I don't like the idea of them being in opaque bags!
  25. Just using the 2009 City Advent Calendar 7687 (and its box), I made this up. Hope you understand what I tried to show... a snow view during Christmas times... Merry Christmas to all in advance! Note: Recovered broken picture link on 4 Dec.
