  1. Thanks all for the support, and I am happy you guys appreicate the roof and windows structures. For the tiling of the floor, it is indeed a good constructive comment which I would take for future MOC. I was lazy, and generally am not generous using tiles on flooring, because I never have enough tile parts for building other decorative things. Anyway, thanks again!
  2. For joining our local LUG gathering organized by minifigs.net in Hong Kong, I have made this small Japanese-style grocery. I have spent some effort on the structures and decorative features of the roof especially to make it more Japanese-like. One more thing, the grocery owner actually is a ninja , and so you can see some creepy equipment in the living room on the second floor... More photos at: My Brickshelf All comments are appreciated. Hope you enjoy! Thanks.

Sigh, 7566 is priced at US$3.99, up from the normal US$3.49 for impulse sets...
  4. Just in case it has been overlooked, there is an official alternative building instruction from 7572 and 7573, which should come from LEGO Club magazine. However, I saw this in Amazon.com, and the soft copy of the PDF instruction can be found here: PoP alternative building
  5. You thought it was more likely to include 6416 than 6418, and there was a car going OVER a bridge... It seems your memory is really fading... By the way, the catalogue page is hilarious... A crocodile is breaking through the fence to sneak into the Paradisa swimming area!!!! And on the bridge, I am not sure if the cowboy is saving or pushing the girl down...
  6. If you are sure it is a town set, then it could be 6490, Amazon Crossing. Not many town sets have a bridge which a car can go over it, as far as I know, and 6490 was indeed released in 1997. Hope it helps!

Magnified the house back picture, but still very blurred... The top level probably is the bedroom? But I am not too sure about the other levels... The ground level is the kitchen / dining room? The second level is the living room?

I am not sure about the price. US$159.99 is even higher than the MSRP for 10184. On the other hand, back in a few months ago when 8404 was discovered as "Fans Choice" without details from South African LEGO sales website, I recalled the price for 8404 was stated as cheaper, than 7744 for comparison purpose, at that website, which sounds more reasonable.
  9. Responsible & Resourceful I am not too sure whom gave it to me and exactly why, but I guess it was related to my introducing 10196 as a newly discovered set known in the East but not yet the West back then. Anyway, I thank for the praise. (Is this thread used for record of title purpose?)
  10. Whitefang, I understand that many (if not all) of the boxes (assuming no messing up/ tricks) sold in Hong Kong have the same pattern of the appearances of the minifigs, i.e., with 3 complete sets plus exactly the same extra minifigs (type and number), as what you reported in this review. It seems the original message that for 8683, each type of minifigs would have roughly the same chance to appear is actually inaccurate, if not a lie.
  11. Try the Toyrus stores in Hong Kong and Toyrus did start selling it last Thursday, though essentially all were sold out by Sunday. The best try would be the biggest one in Ocean Terminal at Tsim Sha Tsui. Selling price is HK$21.9 (~US$2.8) per packet x 60 = HK$1312 (~US$168) The second batch is coming next week as reported by Toyrus, but I don't know if they keep stocking up 8683 and your girlfriend would still see them a few weeks later...
  12. Available in certain Toyrus in Hong Kong already. I managed to buy a full box to share with 2 other LEGO fans. Hope we can get 3 complete 16 minifigs!
  13. With no doubt! I used to have one when I was a kid and bought the castle set 6040... Give me back the pitchfork for my City farmers!!!!
  14. Good trucks, Benny! Also love the idea for the trucks to be able to change into other functions!
  15. The Farm series are just great addition to City theme! While I hope it would last as long as other long-life sub-theme, it sounds like TLC is not so creative so far (we keep having sets being/ with tractors although they are only a few Farm sets...) that I am afraid the Farm subtheme may end pretty soon, though I do think there will be another return in, maybe 5 to 10 years later... If the Farm subtheme can survive, taking into account of TLC trying to make not too complicated sets for price and ease for children reasons, I guess the following could be possible: 1. a stable and/ with racing ground (like the good old town sets) 2. a green house of simplified scale 3. a relatively small farming field (it could be just 16 x 16 with flowers / grass, etc and related equipments) 4. a farm house of decent size 5. a small farm aircarft with equipment to spray pesticide... (This is more remote, but should be a manageably small set) 6. irrigation/ grass cutting/ other farming equipment with a farmer (somewhat like an impulse set) I don't bet on having another new mold for farm animals though.
  16. What a sweetened poison pill!
  17. Built in January, it is a small villa in the rural area with a small private pool. The building style is that for the old-day town house with the back open for playing. Hope you enjoy! Your comment is much appreciated. Thanks.
  18. Such new products were found by whung (source: http://www.minifigs.net/forum/viewthread.p...ge=1#pid380751), again. The pictures are from his brickshelf. In the same sequence of the quoted pictures, they are: 9311 City Buildings Set 9314 Rescue Services Set 9333 Vehicles Set 9334 Animals Set 9335 Space & Airport Set
  19. I somehow particularly like to make use of this part: Tile, Modified 1 x 2 with Handle It allows SNOT building at different directions which help me build various types of structures and patterns!

I know that usual pattern. More fundamentally, if we don't trust the information on the South Africa website at all, we'd better forget the rumoured existence of 8403 and 8404 because the South Africa website has been the only origin suggesting there will be 8403 and 8404 (and they were both disclosed as under the City theme) so far as far as I know. Anyhow, most importantly, I am NOT the one not trusting 8403 will be a City theme set!

While I have no other concrete evidence, previous information from the South Africa website (now seemingly removed) indicated that 8403 is under City theme specifically, not Creator or Brick and more theme. So I think we stand a better chance to have a belated return of a minifig-dwelling house this time.
  22. The top piece of Zurg's head is a new element, I believe. It is beautiful and could be interesting for Castle or Pirate MOC.
  23. So, from your link, this would be the "clean" box picture of 7569:

And probably even without any road plates included...
