  1. Can someone confirm the BOGO50% applies to Diagon Alley which is on clearance?
  2. Wah!? Do you have a DeLorean Time Machine we don't know about? The promo starts NEXT Monday. My local Coles Express hasn't got them yet and sales person didn't know much about it. I think $8 is OK. Considering Lego charges $10-15 for a similar size City set in the shops (albeit with 1 minifig), these aren't bad. Collectible Minifigs are $5 a pop and if the pit crew is $8, that's less than 3 collectible minifigs.
  3. Do you know if Coles Express will also stock the 7th Pit Crew polybag as per: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=75710 This one was sold at a premium in some other countries and was only limited to a few days of sales. Also, great news that it can be bought by itself. I do think Shell/Coles/Lego dropped the ball a little. They should have started the promo a few weeks prior so that it hits the peak/middle of the 6 cars right when F1 begins...this weekend! By the time the action is over, punters might think that the Lego sales are just clearance items since it's past the event!
  4. Whoa whoa.To be honest, as an onlooker, I never thought DrWeevil was calling you a liar. It seem like it's more excitement about it than not believing you. Whichever the case, I'd like to get a set of the Shell Lego F1 polybags!
  5. They are decent sets but depends on how much they cost and how much fuel you'll need to put in to buy ONE polybag. Some countries ran a 'one polybag a week' promo. But seeing as we're close to the F1 race in Melbourne, I'm not sure how that would work as the event would be long over by the time the 2nd polybag hits Coles Express. Lol. I'd like if they just allowed us to buy a full set all in one go.
  6. Actually, it's 50% off a second toy of equal or lesser value till 10 March. :-) So effectively 25% off. Slightly better than the sale over the last weekend. Not as good as the buy two get one free sale...which at the rate they're launching sales, will be on in no time.
  7. Price would not be honoured in store. They said it's online orders only but sold out online anyway. My guess is that it will be a pricing error correction shortly.
  8. It might be a GST issue as you're creeping towards the A$1000 mark and these sets are shipping from overseas. Of course, TLG will probably lose money shipping $900+ of Lego for $45. However, as another user pointed out, if you're ordering that much Lego, even if you paid EUR100 for shipping numerous large sets, you'll still come out on top in terms of savings. Just look on Amazon (.com/.co.uk/.fr/.it/.es/.de) or try Bricklink. Prices are WAY cheaper than the TLG Aussie RRPs.
  9. Some Targets are clearing the Monster Fighters Train for $79.
  10. I've managed to resist so far. Still waiting for that clearance on it! $129 retail is ok for the set its size but... How much was the 3182 Airport? Target Melbourne has 2 x Diagon Alleys (probably returns). Still $279.
  11. Spotted TMNT at Melbourne Myer. 4 sets. 79100 Krang Lab Escape ( $22.95) 79102 Stealth Shell in Pursuit ($39) 79103 Turtle Lair Attack ($80) 79104 Shellraiser Street Chase ($99)
  12. Did you get the RRP? Same as Shop at Home? I spotted these at Kmart. The Kaang Set was $18.70. The lair was $75 and the Turtle Van was $88.
  13. Your mileage indeed does vary. My local Kmart had the Battlepacks at $12 and the Highway Pickup for $69. Both were scanned prices. Can't comment on the rest as there weren't any left.
  14. Hope you didn't clean out too much from the shelves!
  15. Gah! I just bought the Battlepacks for $17.60 at Target. Going to pick up some more of those Endor packs soon. It's pretty much the only place to get cheap-ish Stormtroopers these days. Bring back the Stormtrooper-only Battlepack. And the price of Jabba's Palace dropped by another $20! My local has five Shuttles. Hurry up and discount it already.
  16. Might possibly be cheaper at JB Hi-Fi so watch out for it. If it's anything like the Padawan Menance, the DVD version doesn't come with the minifig. Only the Bluray + DVD combo came with the young Han Solo mini.
  17. Spotted TMNT at Big W Victoria today. The 79103 Turtle Lair Attack was $75 and the Street Chase Van 79104 was $88. There was also the small set Kaang Attack 79100 for $18.72. PS: Myer 20% off Lego good till 3 March.
  18. Very enlightening information. I do know that the book publishing industry works on similar margins. Books are sold to stores by distributors at 40-50% less than RRP. Stores have high overheads, staffing etc so I would say that most of that 40% RRP would need to be ploughed back into the business. Sadly.
  19. I don't recall Kmart ever doing % off sales. But their clearance deals are usually good. In addition, their items are generally priced below AUD RRP. Recent 'good' deals include $129 Jabba's Palace. RRP is $199. Desert Skiff was $35 against $50 RRP. Still waiting for their Space Shuttle 10231 to go on clearance.
  20. Picked up the Diagon Alley set and it was very well packed from initial inspection. Looks good. Time to finish up my Haunted House before moving on to this, Not into Harry Potter but this is a nice one. Lot of pieces, minifigs and three buildings.
  21. Received notice to pick up my Target Diagon Alley. Will drop by tomorrow. Hope it's in good shape! And they must still have plenty more in the warehouse...it's still listed on the website.
  22. What!? Cheap Lego in NZ...wish I had an excuse to visit. Aussie prices are just too dear at the moment...
  23. Hard to find Lego in thrift/antique shops as people seem to know the value of these and would rather post on Gumtree/Craigslist as a bulk lot instead of giving it away!
  24. I wish my parents kept my Lego instead of, erm, giving it to the neighbour's kid. GAH!
  25. Think we missed the boat on WB Shop already. Their $20 shipping must have been costing them profits so WB NO LONGER SHIPS to Australia. :-( I had all the Hobbit sets sitting in my cart waiting for a group deal to eventuate. Oh well...
