FS: MNIB Ole' Kirk's House #400007 $475 shipped
shawn_low replied to samiam391's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Firstly, it's etiquette NOT to hijack someone else's sales thread. Start your own if you're selling the same thing. Even if it's cheaper. Secondly, you're a new user: are you just here to sell stuff? Because with only 4 posts, you can't even send or receive PMs so no one can contact you to buy anything! -

Rancor Pit marked as $99 at Kmart. Was under the impression it was $70 or similar. Other K-Mart Markdowns: Sith Fury Class Infiltrator marked down to $99 Pres Vizla Mandalorian Starfighter $65 Republic Class Starfighter $60 (I think) Saesee Tinn's Starfighter $45 Desert Skiff $35 (out of stock at my local store) :-( Planets Series 1 & 2 $10 Jabba's Palace $129 City Forest Police Station $79 Enjoy! Seems like I didn't see the 40% off a second toy at Myer yesterday. :-( PS: slightly off topic BUT save your pennies for the new UCS X-Wing out in May. Official Lego video here: Looks like an enlarged 9493. -
My bias towards the OT will make me pick the Tie Fighter or X-Wing but they've been done before though these iterations are the best (bar the UCS ones perhaps). I'd show more love towards the Skiff but a brand new one here in Australia isn't great value (US$45 or so new in stores like Target and TRU)... My 9500 is on the way so can't comment. Ditto R2. Haven't even seen the B-Wing in the flesh... That leaves Jabba's Palace. Aside from the high price, this set has great minifigs, playability and is pretty faithful to the OT source material. Plus it bolts on to 2013s Rancor Pit. WIN!

When does the sale start? I'm overseas and tried to order SW Stuff online but the discount isn't showing up... -
Crayonboi - 2 (Thematically the most like a Lego set in terms of its design, build and type and number of elements) Stebai - 2 (Great thematically and good build!) Cara - 1 (Would be great to include a train carriage!)

Anyone spot at SW battle packs 9488 and 9489 at Myer Melbourne for their 3 for 2 sale? None at Myer Highpoint though items are listed as available on their website. -
Buying LEGO from other countries on-line stores

Actually, I have some WB coupon codes that knock the price down a little (about 10%) :-) US RRP is lower than UK RRP and all the LOTR and Hobbit stuff will end up being fairly cheap considering the lower US RRP and weaker dollar strength vs the Sterling. It might be as cheap, if not cheaper than 25% off at Amazon UK. Shipping is a flat US$20 no matter how many sets. Very tempting! -

For those who can't read blurry catalogue, the sale runs 24 Jan - Ends 30 Jan -
Found a complete Dark Side Developers Kit (Mindstorm) from 2000 in near-perfect box via local ad. $50. Spent time tearing apart the already built AT-AT and sorting the parts. Built the Destroyer Droid. The motor/cpu works. All parts are in great condition. Not bad for a 12 year old set.

Been to Kmart, BigW, Myer in various parts of Melbourne and all the Chima stuff is on the shelves. The 2013 City stuff are on the shelves at these retailers too. Ditto Ninjago. Myer has the Friends 2013 stuff too but didn't see it at Kmart or BigW. Target in Western suburbs on Melbourne only had the City Museum Breakout and some new Ninjago but much else. -

Well, I heard from IQ Toys about their Haunted House listed for $175. They told me my order would not go through as Lego has discontinued the line and they can't get more from the distributor. Money would be refunded. Bummer. On another note, those looking for local sales on Gumtree, here's another possible scam to beware of. I dub it the 'courier COD bait and switch';. Late last year, a seller posted on Gumtree selling a couple of Lego sets. Death Star, Super Star Destroyer, Cars, City Mine. I emailed and seller (never gave me a name or a number) said he/she would only ship via courier COD. I asked for a pick-up and he/she said they work 80 hours a week and am not home for pick up. Prices were reasonable and it seemed safe enough via courier. After a few weeks, we finally arranged for a delivery. I ordered the Death Star 10188 for $420. Same price as Amazon shipped but figured it was local so... This morning, a guy turns up. Says he's from Couriers Plus and shows some dodgy paperwork (no seller name or address). The company delivery sheet had no contact number. Only a business name and address. So courier was paid and walks off. I lift the box and it feels too light. Opened it up and it was the Cars and City Mine set. Worth $150 but I gave the courier $420. Chased after the courier (he parked round the corner and drove a Holden not a van) and he umm and ahhed and said I already signed for it. I refused to let it go and said it labelled as Star Wars but I didn't receive it. He couldn't give me the sellers name for 'privacy reasons'. Fair enough. He tried to call the 'depot' but couldn't get through. Couldn't give me a number to call either. Throughout, he said various things that contradicted each other (Oh I'm in a rush, have other deliveries to make. Then later on, he said, Oh, this is my last delivery for the morning). In the end, I refused the delivery and insisted on my money back. Courier gave it back and went off. I did a Google search on the company and found no telephone number and only an ABN and a business address (at a residence: 7 Lucerne St, Campbellfield, Vic 3061). I emailed the seller who said that it was a mix up and my Death Star was shipped to the wrong address and it was the courier's fault and the other receiving party doesn't want to own up etc. He/she was out of pocket. Despite me asking for him/her to call me throughout, there was no phone call. Anyway, I'll dig up the ad on Gumtree and post it here. Does anyone know the company Couriers Plus? -

Yes. If they don't want to put it through in one transaction, then put it through as multiple transactions. -

If you're on Amazon, DO NOT order from My Worldwide Market. I placed two orders. One yesterday night and one today morning and the first was cancelled. Seller said that their shipping calculator was borked. I was told by the seller I would be refunded and Amazon's stock email said that I wasn't charged. Both claims were bollocks. I was charged for both orders totalling $1.4k according to my bank and now I have to wait for a refund or release of funds. Amazon's customer service said it could take anywhere up to the 19th for that to happen. Of course, my CC statement is slated to arrive on the 18th. HAH. -

BN.com has the new Star Wars set at preorder 10% off retail with cheap-ish shipping. They did jack up their retail but after the 10% discount still cheaper than TRU in the US shipped. Sadly, all the SW 2013 stuff is gone from preorders. -

I'm also waiting for the Hobbit Lego to come on sale and also for restocks of the Superhero stuff and the new 2013 set too. Of course, I'm looking out for a coupon to slash prices further too. With their flat-rate $20 shipping, it makes sense to order more but what am I going to do with my extra copies of Helm's Deep?? Also, Amazon.es shipping has soared WAY up compared to Amazon.de and Amazon.fr. Not really worth looking there unless they stock something you really want. For some reason, the 7965 Millennium Falcon can't be shipped to Australia from ANY Amazon store at the moment. -

I've found them friendly to deal with but slow to respond to emails. Average turnaround for emails is 1-2 days from experience. -

Here's the Mighty Ape policy. I believe you can return items for a refund or exchange: http://www.mightyape.com.au/help/Policies-Terms-Conditions/8/Returns-Policy/149/ The item I ordered was damaged in transit If your item was damaged between leaving the Mighty Ape warehouse and arriving at your delivery address you will receive a full refund or replacement. You will be required to return the item to Mighty Ape's distribution centre in Australia, or in some circumstances you may be required to photograph the damaged item. If you return an item you will not incur any shipping or handling fees. -

I'm looking around too. All the usual cheaper suspects are out of stock. Shopforme, IQ Toys etc. I saw one listed on one of the Aussie shops online for $399!! At that price, your best bet is to get it from overseas. -

That would be me! Sorry to hear that. A mate of mine received a 8039 Star Wars Venator shipped to Melbourne from Sydney and HORROR!, the box was just bubble wrapped. While it wasn't crushed, you can imagine that it has some creases and indentations. To bring this on topic, I placed an order with IQ Toys for the Haunted House for $175 (shipped). Supposedly picked up the last one and now listed as out of stock. Today I checked and they told me they had a 'stock error' and had no more stock. I could get a refund OR wait till they hear whether they can get more stock (early to Mid Feb). Apparently, they said they were told the Monster Fighters line is going out of print. So I'm out of pocket till Feb! Gah. Was looking forward to fixing that one up!
