  1. With the commonly available sets yes, but I think most kids don't buy sealed antique sets.
  2. In Europe Dino Attack was released as Dino 2010, with almost the same vehicles, but the weapons were replaced by cages and other tools to catch dinosaurs, instead of kill them.
  3. The two vehicles just seperate, so people who don't like the AT-OT (like me) don't need to pay for that part of the set.
  4. Welcome to EB!
  5. I would open it. But thatis maybe because I don't trade LEGO, I just buy it for the model (and somethimes for the pieces) and not to get more money. Some months ago I buyed a 6271 MISB cheap. I could have let it in the box and sell it so I got some money, but I didn't, because I buyed it for the model. But of course the choice is yours.
  6. I now see some other dislikes. LEGO has released many worse themes last years, so it's easy to forget some. I don't like Agents, Alpha Team, Speed Racer, Belville and Racers. I like racecars, but not those Hot Wheels-like things. Not compartible to anything. But the Town-subtheme of racecars in the '80s and early '90s is great, I still want to build a big raceway with the Fast Track Finish. Oh, and don't forget Roboriders and Slizer.
  7. I saw a video about this set. I didn't see the Clone Wars series or the CW movie, but I saw the cockpit of the LEGO AT-OT folding. Has the real one also a folding cockpit? To be honest I don't like the CW sets and figs, maybe only the vehicles that are also used in the regular movies. These two vehicles are but I'm not sure about the AT-OT. Maybe I buy some Ep. II clones and the pieces for the 7675 AT-TE and the LAAT/c. And then I don't feel I need to apply the stickers. For me the set is too expensive. It is already expensive for the parts you get, but I don't like the All Terrain Open Transport. Because it is... well, it's open. And the cockpit looks very weird to me. I think they could better sell the AT-OT and LAAT/c seperately. But the concept looks great to me. From what I saw on the video, the "claw" of the dropship works very well. And for me personally (and I think others as well) it's also great that you can use it with the AT-TE.

  9. It's difficult to me to make a top 3. There are many more worse and good themes. Best: -Castle till the 1995 sets -Pirates, the old theme -City before the juniorizing -TECHNIC -Model Team -Western Worst: -Galidor -Bionicle -Znap -Jack Stone/4 Juniors/4+ -Power Miners -Exo-Force
  10. Welkom Erik!
  11. Impressive... Most impressive... Now you only need to build a LAAT/c in the same scale to carry it to the battlefield!
  12. The best set is Fort LEGOREDO without doubt. The original of course. I don't own a single set unfortunately. But it's still one of my favorite themes. Maybe because I played a lot with the sets of my cousin. I don't kno if I would buy a set if LEGO would re-release the theme. It depends on the sets. I don't like the new Pirates theme, howevr the idea of re-releasing the theme looked great.
  13. Castle. I still want a castle, I have some castle theme sets, but in a castle collection should be at least one castle... But only the older theme, except 10193 and the Knight Impulse. I hate the fantasy part. I also like pirates (only the older sets), TECHNIC (only sets with at least some studded parts), Model Team, and a lot more themes.
  14. Nice review! About the "torch" at the cannon: I think it's not a torch, but a stick or something to put the powder to the back of the cannon. Don't know the English word for it.
  15. I don't like the new ones. The example of the Dodge Nitro is only limited to a few cars I think. The old ones are better for 4-wide cars (the size they should be IMO). What I want is a mudguard like the new one (only one side) with the shape of the old one, so you can build it in the shape of the vehicle. Somethimes I build 6-wide trucks, but I use the plate 2 x 2 with wheels holder wide. This one: Then the wheels are perfect for six-wide vehicles, without the unrealistic offset.
  16. I own: -6234 Renegade's Raft -6237 Pirates' Plunder -6271 Imperial Flagship -6285 Black Seas Barracuda I really want: -6277 Imperial Trading Post I also would like to have: -6244 Armada Sentry -6273 Rock Island Refuge -6274 Caribbean Clipper -6276 Eldorado Fortress -6280 Armada Flagship
  17. I got this information of a site from a Dutch newspaper. I've tried to translate it in english. The original text (Dutch). My excuses for possible translating mistakes.
  18. Another possible small Western set: the Pony Express. With some riders, some horses and an office. Inspired by this set, where you can see a Pony Express building at the left. I have watched the Into the West miniseries, where Abe Wheeler was a rider of the Pony Express. That DVD may be a great source of inspiration for a set.
  19. Another possible small Western set: the Pony Express. With some riders, some horses and an office.
  20. Is Woodhouse the one included in the Imperial flagship?
  21. My favorite: Close second: The worst: Galidor. Never heard of it, untill I readed the post of JimButcher. As I can remember, these were never released in Europe. Lucky for me...
  22. Well, what I think is important... First of all the value. It' in general not a problem, overall the sets are worth the money. But some sets are way too expensive. Design, also very important. Details can be great, like doors. I love the design of the early '90s sets, and would see they build more in that style. Also counts for me: the bigger the model, the more the details. I don't like the Beetle. They could make a much better shape, and at least add steering wheels. Look to the Beetle made by the Arvo brothers and you know what I mean. Rating. I don't look many times to ratings. But somethimes I do. Watching reviews was a reason to buy the 6271 instead of 6280, and I was a happy man. Pieces, maybe the most important thing of all. I like specialized pieces like patterned bricks, and some other pieces like tools too. But sets shouldn't contain specialized pieces for the main part. That's why I don't like Megabloks, but also don't like the big planes, one-piece-hull ships*, Power Miners and Bionicle. TECHNIC bricks should have at least some studded parts, it's what LEGO makes LEGO. It may sound strange, but the containing of stickers can be a reason for me not to buy a set. It depends of what I hear from others (mainly about the quality (do the stickers fall of after a year)), and the use of stickers. The lights of the Ferrari 430 (and now the Lamborghini Gallardo) could be built with bricks. My opinion is that a set looks also reasonable without stickers. It is not that I never buy a set with stickers, but the sets I just noticed are way too overstickered. *I like the floating ships from the early '90s, but those were one-vehicle sets, next to other sets with brick-built ships.
  23. I don't know which one I should buy: -6277 Imperial Trading Post -10193 Medieval Market Place I own 6271 Imperial Flagship, and it needs a harbour, and 6277 looks great, but on the other side I like the castle theme, and especially the market because it has not the unrealistic skeletons or trolls, which I don't like. Next to that: if I want it MISB, I can get a 10193 together with a 3739 (which fits perfectly with the market) for less money than the 6277. I don't have big Castle sets, but they will come. And 6277 is one of the greatest pirate sets of all time (I don't like thenew Pirates theme). Can anyone help me?
  24. -Galactic Marines -Commander Bacara
