Maybe I can explain in Dutch. "Dead" is meer dood, iemand is dood, een dode, als je zo Dead Star zou schrijven, betekent het "Dode Ster". "Death" heeft te maken met de dood, in hetzelfde voorbeeld Death Star betekent "Ster des Doods". Ik denk dat ik het zo op de juiste manier heb gezegd en ik hoop dat je het begrijpt. Some more examples: "Mars is a dead planet"; "dead soil"; "dead coals"; "the fire is dead" "the animal died a painful death"

No, she don't. She has a too wide hull. The Imperial Flagship has a smaller hull, so more speed and greater movement. The Imperial Flagship has a working rudder. And more realistic rigging. She will send the CC crew to Davy Jones' locker! Besides of that, the Soldiers have a fortress and the guards a harbor, but still with some defends. What if the soldiers are empty of supplies? The guards can be supplied with the merchant ship. And no, the soldiers won't capture her, the Imperial Flagship will keep attackers off. To make things clear, with Imperial Guards/Redcoats I only mean the 1992-1995 theme. The new minifigs are great, but the sts are very bad IMHO.

Model team return petition
Rijkvv replied to Buttons's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I don't think it's just a name. The Model Team theme is very different compared to Creator for example. The sets that where the closest were the Sopwith Camel, the Fokker DR1 and the Wright Flyer, I think. -
I heard about it somethimes at LowLUG, but I think it started after I became a member of Classic Castle. I've heard about Classic Pirates, and signed up. And that was the Eurobricks forum, I discovered shortly after that.

Tyrrell P34
Rijkvv replied to Rijkvv's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks everyone! They are linked together with an axle with some gears. The real P34 had different steering angles, but there was not much space to realize that, so I decided to use the same angle. With another solution the first axle steering angle was twice as big as the second one. Too big difference, I think. The steering wheel is connected with another axle, and with the help of a rubber belt the car steers. However, the steering works better if I move the wheels with my hand, due to resistance. If I steer with the car free of the ground, it works. I don't know if I will do that. I like the P34 mostly cause of it's radical concept. There were more six-wheelers, but they didn't make it to the GP's. And they are not as beautiful as the P34. First I wanted to build the second version with the full body, because I think it's the most beautiful version (without the offset front wheels and front radiators). But I decided to build the older version, cause now you can see the engine. Maybe I build a remote controlled version in the future, but I'm not sure if there's enough space to put a diff, gears, battery box and two PF motors... Yes, it is. With thanks to my sister. I'm sorry for the late reaction. -
Model team return petition
Rijkvv replied to Buttons's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I think the Model Team sets were much better. They had a lot of details, and working steering. Looking to Creator, I haven't seen things like an engine, working steering and a lot of details in one model. As far as I know, every car/truck of Model Team had working steering. These are two different themes, and although Creator is a good theme with some great sets, they are not Model Team or something similar. -
Ah, I see. That makes sense. Well, it's difficult to me. I'm Dutch, and the Netherlands had fought wars with Spain, the UK and France. But these three are the only navys I can choose from...

Welcome to EB!

Welcome Broadside! Good choice of interests, with me it's amost the same! But why don't you like our brave admiral Woodhouse? By the way, he is the one with a ship in his fleet that actually has a working rudder! And about spelling: I make mistakes too. I speak English very well aber nicht so schnell maar dat komt nog wel.

Great job! One question though: Dead from Beneath: shouldn't it be Death? Like in Death Star? If I'm wrong, then forget what I said...

My first name is Rijk. Translate it to English and you get rich. That's why.

I buy mostly city (only the older sets, however I wait to see the PF trains) and TECHNIC. I also buy Castle and Pirates, again the older sets, I don't like Fantasy LEGO. I also like Space, but don't collect it really, because I buy first sets of the themes mentioned before. I think I just want too much.
-
Of course the space you need is also important. -A large train table with bridges and tunnels: yes, I really would like this. With the smooth curves, shown previously in Railbricks. And a turntable. -What I also want to build: A PF remote controlled Cheetah (the Dutch version of the German Gepard self-propelled anti aircraft gun) with rotating tower, rotating radars, elevating barrels and maybe led lights in the barrels for "shooting". -A rollercoaster. And with all respect to previous coasters: with realistic looking rails instead of train rails with ties. -A minifig-scale model of the Dutch aircraft carrier "Karel Doorman". -Tracy Island, complete with the 5 Thunderbirds, and all the other vehicles, minifig scale -an UCS model of one of the Thunderbirds vehicles, or maybe the Crablogger Most of these ideas I can't realize because of lack of parts. The train table also because of lack of space (and I think the aircraft carrier also). I wanted to start with the Cheetah if I had darkgreen Model Team wheels. And maybe it's also hard to build because of building skills. I don't know much about trains for example, and if I want to build a big lay-out with steam engines for example, I have no idea what kind of buildings fit in the lay-out or are used to keep the trains running.

Technic has a new home!
Rijkvv replied to Siegfried's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Great! Now I don't need to visit a forum what is shared with Bionicle -
New pieces or existing pieces in more colors
Rijkvv replied to Eilif's topic in General LEGO Discussion
More colours. I really want dark green Model Team wheels... -
I agree. I think without the Fantasy subtheme there are enough unrealistic themes left. And the knights are really beutiful. If they need fantasy, why don't they use legends like King Arthur and Robin Hood? There is much doubt about the stories I think.
-
Very great! You should build more WWII minifig-scale planes!
-
Two castles? As far as I know, there was only one Fright Knights castle.
-
I really like it for the parts and figs, especially the bat helmet. However most of the sets are poor designed IMHO. That may have been the unluck of the theme to be released around the juniorization. I have to say, I only own 6004 (my first castle set ) and that is a good set. I did play with the castle my friend had, but I never really liked it. The most sets I never saw in real, so maybe they are very good. It is better however than the KK1, KK2 and Fantasy Era sets.

What New Themes or Sets would you like TLG to make?
Rijkvv replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Why not? In the early '90s and I think in or around 2001 the series returned, with many merchandise and toys. -
The crusaders of course! Nice MOC! I really like the wooden roof/thing/whatever the English name is that is built above the wall.
-
I voted for "outstanding" and "perhaps". Outstanding: after the release of the cowboy-themed Western sets in 1996, only the Indians were missing. When they were released in 1997 it was one of my most-wanted new themes next to Divers. I hope someday I have the Rapid River Village. Perhaps: as said before, it depends on the sets. The quality of the design. Nice village Klaus-Dieter! Wasn't the one with the "buffalo hat" supposed to be the medicine man? But I have to say, the medicine man of the Adventurers looks better as a medicine man.
-
In this case I would say the bigger the better. Maybe small sets have better prices. But when the sets were released the only set I really wanted was 6766 Rapid River Village. And still this is the most wanted set. So this is my choice.

UT-AT with some marines (they can use Snowtrooper helmets in different colors) and maybe Ki-Adi Mundi.
