Best/Worst designed licenced minifigure ever?
DarthBrickus replied to Santaduckz's topic in LEGO Licensed
There are too many good ones to make out a clear winner, but the most disappointing minifig for me was definetly the new Spiderman: I can't remember any "update" that was so much worse than its predecessor. The Red Head on the blue torso with red Print? The ridiculous muscles? No, just... No. Old Spidey was an awesome minifig, new Spidey looks like a Bodybuilder in Pyjamas and a Halloween-Mask. Here's the old one for reference: -
Last two were Cold Days by Jim Butcher and A Dance with Dragons by George R. R. Martin. Next up will be Lord of Light by Robert Zelazny and The Gripping Hand by Jerry Pournelle and Larry Niven.

Review: 75001 Republic Troopers vs. Sith Troopers
DarthBrickus replied to Oky's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks for the review! 63 pieces really is ridiculously low, especially considering last years excellent Elite Clone Trooper Batlle pack had 93 parts. The worst part: like most Battle Packs, its 16.99 € in Germany, equalling 22.40$. I guess these will be discounted heavily later this year. -
This is gonna arrive today: The cows from MMV think they're safe, but not anymore my bovine friends, not anymore...

Thanks, i found it, it's from castle fantasy era, on the crownie king and most dwarfs. Also some vikings.

I have MMV, Kingdoms Joust and bought Mill Village Raid to add it to the display. While the Minifigs and Animals in Mill Village Raid are great and the barn is kind of nice, the small Mill doesn't do anything for me. It's a nice set, but when put next to MMV and KJ, it looks out of place. So yeah, in my opinion displaying MMV + Kingdoms Joust together is awesome, but Mill Village Raid was more like a 65€ Battle Pack "Medieval Civilians vs. Farm Animals"

This Thread is just full of awesome! @ReZourceman: What Torso and Legs did you use for your Taskmaster? Sorry if this has been answered before. I'm gonna try my hand on the Justice League Unlimited Rooster, i hope i can come up with something presentable

You should definetly not miss Superman vs Lex if you're into Superheroes, it has that perfect Justice League- / Superman Animated Series-Vibe. Also as others have said, get MMV while it's still available, it's awesome. The Deathstar is worth every penny, i consider it the most fun build-experience i've ever had. Get it. Now.

Only Must-buys for 2013 identified so far: 10232 - Palace Cinema 75025 - Jedi Defender-Class Cruiser (provided it's Sith Fury-Interceptor level of Awesomeness) Still on the fence about Jabba's Palace / Rancor Pit / Sail Barge. I also hope to get 10217 - Diagon Alley for a decent price, which i missed while it was still available in S@H Germany
-
Thanks for the review! I think what this set is missing is a highlight. Hoth Echo Base was pretty mediocre in itself, but it had 4 1/2 unique Minifigs and that cool Bacta-Tank to put Luke in. This feels just like a rehash of some old sets thrown together, with a unique minifig that does neither scream "play with me" nor "display me" imho. I'll pass

Review: Arctic Batman vs. Mr. Freeze: Aquaman on Ice
DarthBrickus replied to Oky's topic in LEGO Licensed
Thanks for the review! i'll definetly get this bad boy. The 20$ Super Heroes Sets have all been hits imho, especially the underrated King of 2012 - Superman vs Power-Armor Lex. Has anyone found a currently available Hair-replacement for the yellow Justin-Bieber-Cut? I'd really like Aquaman to look more like that reference-picture Oky posted- 67 replies

LEGO Star Wars 2013 Pictures and Rumors
DarthBrickus replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Same here, while the "endgame"/mmo-part of SWToR was really bad, the Story and Visual Design was top notch in my opinion. I hope they make it a 700+pieces, or just generally matching the sith fury interceptor in terms of detail. -
Review: 9500 - Sith Fury Class Interceptor
DarthBrickus replied to jmagaletta's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks for the review. After reading this, i got the set for 30% off this week . Let me just say you cannot go wrong with this one. It may be (relatively) small, but this is only due to the incredible level of detail this design incorporates. The Ship looks excellent from every viewpoint. The whole build features tons of greebling, the structure is very robust, an interesting build alltogether and on top you get those top-notch minifigs. This set literally blasted it's way into my Top 3 for 2012 in the last week of the year. -
Hello everyone, i'm 35 years old from Germany and grew up with tons of Town, Space and Castle, but, like most, lost interest in Lego during my Teens. November 2011 my fiancee, who knew that i like Star Wars (alot), saw the Lego Star Wars Advent-Calender discounted in some Shop and brought it home. Things escalated quickly... I now mostly collect Star Wars Sets from the Original Trilogy, and recently got into Castle and (DC) Super Heroes. While shopping at the Lego-Store, my future wife discovered Modular Buildings for herself, and has since also started MOCing. Cheers!
