Whoops, I forgot about this thread! I've had this one for a couple of months now: Existential Iffy-ness - A Mafia Title, I don't remember the circumstances, but I remember saying something like all the players were making me feel iffy. I know it was given to me by Hinckley.
-
"What, no clever interlude?" Harper asked. "I couldn't think of anything. I'll try one later today." "It's only Day Two and you're getting lazy." "That's not true. Hey, wait a second. I outrank you. Why are you sassing me?" "Sorry, sir." ~~~ You may now vote! Lesson Four - The Difference Between Roleplaying and Nonsense There's a fine line in these games between roleplaying and just posting for the sense of posting and claiming that it's a character roleplay. Roleplay isn't the most important thing when it comes to these games, and sometimes it's abandoned entirely when things come down to the wire. However, usually on the first few days, roleplaying can add to the game wonderfully, making it a better experience. Also, be conscious of your time period. Since this game takes place in the future, we can reference pretty much anything that's happened in the past. However, if this game was taking place in 1930's Prohibition time, then we wouldn't have the Internet to look things up. Please also don't overdo your roleplay. Remember, the point of this game is to win, no matter what team you're on. If you're scum and you are roleplaying yourself off as a combative guy, chances are you might be lynched. Know when to use your roleplay and know when it's acceptable not to use it. Also, funky accents added to your character can either be a detriment or a good thing, depending.

Oh that's right, you got taken out by the tree stump too! I had to go back and reread that. I don't even pay attention in my own games it seems. What I remember most is Scumba making a huge deal about it in the Conclusion and then me having to promise him there wouldn't be a tree stump in my next game.- 60 replies

Excalibur TNG: Mafia School Day Two: Where Silence Has Lease Isaac Osborne / TheLazyChicken was walking around outside, breaking the rules. He enjoyed walking in the Academy Gardens because they cleared his mind. "Hello." a mysterious figure said. "Oh please." Isaac said. "I know what happens when you encounter a night action figure in a Mafia Game. You're even holding a comically large phaser behind you." "I mean look at that thing, it's huge. You'd think the guns would get smaller in the future!" Isaac continued. "You're not even going to beg for your life or tell me I'm wrong or anything?" the figure asked. "Wait, I can do that?" But it was too late, the figure had already fired his weapon on the maximum setting. Isaac Osborne / TheLazyChicken was blown apart by the force of the blast. He was no more. Elsewhere, Emily Goodwin / Dragonfire was pacing the lecture hall looking at the datapad the League of Purists had left behind. "Aha!" she exclaimed. "I knew if I looked at this long enough I'd find an answer. I can't wait to tell everyone." Suddenly, a different figure ran into the room. "Emily! You've got to hold onto this briefcase for me!" it said. "What's in it?" "It's extremely important. The Fleet Admiral himself asked me to guard it, but I've really got to use the bathroom and I don't want to get it dirty." "Oh boy!" she said. "I'll be right back. Say, why don't you let me look at this datapad while I'm gone." "Okay!" "I wonder what's inside." KABOOM! And that was all that was left of Emily Goodwin / Dragonfire. As the students entered the Lounge, they found a surprise. A treestump had appeared where the body of the deceased Admiral was. "Students!" she said. "I have important information about my killers!" Suddenly, the lights turned off! "Oh no, not again!" she said. A phaser blast was clearly heard, before someone scrambled and turned the lights back on. The Treestump of Admiral Nacheyav was no more. "You're all doing a really bad job." Bob said. "Melinda Fox, Isaac Osborne, and Emily Goodwin were all Loyalists! Try harder today, or else!" ~~~ Players: Command School: Warren Thompson - Played By: lego3364 Medical School: Adam Powers - Played By: jluckhaupt Greg Kennedy - Played By: Lego Spy Sciences School: Willie Spencer - Played By: Tohst Emma Lane - Played By: vampyre78 Engineering School: Fred Rhodes - Played By: Adventurer1 Jeff Yates - Played By: Getdamonkey Security School: Timothy Daniels - Played By: Calanon Jordan Foster - Played By: Comrade Commander The Dead: Melinda Fox - Played By: Xenophobic Monoxide - Voted off Day One, Loyalist Issac Osborne - Played By: TheLazyChicken - Phasered on Night One, Loyalist Emily Goodwin - Played By: Dragonfire - Blown up on Night One, Loyalist Reserves: 1) nstickney Rules: 1) Every player has received their own character. You are either aligned as a Loyalist or the League of Purists. The Loyalists need to eliminate the League of Purists and the League of Purists need to outnumber the town. 2) Every day you will be able to vote for a player. Voting should be done as so: Vote: Character (Player). Unvoting is to be done in the same fashion: Unvote: Character (Player). A majority vote is required to lynch a player. You must vote every day. 3) A game day will last 72 hours. You may not vote within the first 24 hours of the day. Once the day is over, you will have 24 hours to send in a night action if this applies to you. Nights will last at most 48 hours. You may not talk about the game outside of the day thread. 4) The alignment of players who have been lynched, as well as those who died during the night, will be revealed at the beginning of the next day. 5) You may not quote or pretend to quote anything sent to you by the game host via PM. This includes the details of your character and role, as well as any night action results. Role claims and reporting of night action results are acceptable, but in your own words only. Do not attempt to use the structure of your role PM to your advantage. 6) You are encouraged to role-play in this game. I've provided a bare-bones role for you to flesh out if you wish. With that being said, please do not post out of character in the game thread. You may PM other players, but do so at your own risk. 7) If you die, you may not post in thread or discuss the game with any players, living or dead. Any information you had is null and void and is not allowed to be passed on. 8) Don't edit your posts. 9) You must post in every day thread. 10) Try to be nice to your fellow players. I won't accept overt bullying. 11) Violation of your first rule will result in a 4-vote penalty, your second violation will result in your death. Since this is a Mafia School, I will try to be lenient, but the best lesson can also sometimes be the harshest. 12) If any player asks you to break these rules, report them to me immediately with proof of their violation. A lesson will be up shortly. Important Reminder: Dead Mafia Players Tell No Tales! If you're dead, don't post here!

Excalibur TNG: Mafia School Confirmation
Bob replied to Bob's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
As a general note for all players with night actions, your results are not locked in after you've sent it in the first time. I don't think I made that clear since several people have asked me if they can change their action. You may change your action as many times as you'd like during that 24 hour period.- 60 replies

The group had decided to lynch Melinda Fox / Xenophobic Monoxide. "Guys, this isn't funny. Come on guys, you know me." she said. But the crowd would not listen. "We've studying for exams together guys. I can't be a Purist, I've got an exam coming up." "Guys, don't do this. Please, please don't do this." Her pleas for leniency were ignored as she was escorted out of the lounge, her cries heard until the door slammed shut, leaving the remaining students in silence. ~~~ Lesson Three - Night Actions - What Are They? Some players have been randomly assigned night actions on both teams. In mafia, the amount and type of night actions mixed in can vary. Every player could have a night action or only a handful of players could have them. In simple mafia games, such as this Mafia School, the night actions are usually very standard. Most townspeople have a vigilante, a protector, and an investigator as standard roles. The scum team will almost always have a killer on their side as well. If you have a night action, you will have been notified of it in your role PM. Make sure you reread it. It's imperative that you understand your night action, as every night action is vitally important to the game. Night actions should be sent in within 24 hours of the Day ending. Since this day just ended, you'll have about 24 hours left to send yours in. It's also never a smart idea to reveal your night action to someone else unless you absolutely trust them. To players with night actions, make sure you send your action in the role PM. A separate PM is not necessary and it just makes things more difficult.

As a reminder, all players must vote or they will receive a penalty. Refresher Lesson: As a note, you're extremely unlikely to catch a member of the scum on Day One unless one of them messes up somehow. Day One lynches are supposed to be totally random and nonsensical. There will always be a Day Two, so don't worry if you mess up on Day One.

Interlude The students had decided to accuse Chef Hubert, who had been a longtime friend of Admiral Nacheyav and has worked at the Academy for thirty-seven years, of murdering the Admiral. Needless to say he was not impressed with the deduction. "Stop trying to find out how she was murdered and start blindly accusing people. Also, NPC's can't be voted for." ~~~ Voting is Now Open. The player with the most votes will be lynched. Lesson Two - Voting - What To Do Voting is now open. I've discussed voting briefly in Lesson One when going over the rules, but now I'll go into it with more detail. In the game of mafia, there are two types of players besides Town and Scum. They are Vanilla and Action players. Now, at night, action players can use their action to do a variety of things, from investigating to killing. However, Vanilla players aren't given an action, because their power is the power of voting. A bandwagon is a Mafia Term that's applicable when all the players go after one player, usually without much evidence. This usually occurs on the first few days when there's an absence of real information and everything is simple speculation. Voting in games differs slightly depending on who is hosting. Some hosts require the player to vote in private, some may only vote once in a day, and sometimes you can't vote at all. Voting is to be done in this fashion: Vote: Character (Player) Unvoting is to be done like so: Unvote: Character (Player) Applying some common sense, you may only unvote someone if you've voted for that person. You also may only vote for one person at a time. This means that you can't throw out ten different votes. You must unvote a player before voting for another one. The day will last for 48 hours past this point even if the majority is reached. Sometimes this isn't always so. In some games, the day ends when the majority vote has been reached. As a host, I prefer to keep the day open so that a player can defend themselves against a bandwagon even if they're not present when voting is open. Eurobricks is a global community, and I recognize that not everyone is awake all day and all night. Finally, you might be asking yourself: "Why do we have to wait 24 hours to vote?" Good question, and that rule can be traced all the way back to Noir Mafia, in which a novice player acted so scummy that he was nearly unanimously voted off within the first few hours of the day. The day ended before he could defend himself and he turned out to be innocent. The rule is really vital to the games in which the day ends after a majority is reached. Host Note: There are no clues or hints in any of the pictures. They are there purely for entertainment reasons. Don't try and look for hints inside the photography because I haven't put any in them. If you think you've found one, think again.

Excalibur TNG: Mafia School Day One: Coming of Age The Luna Lounge was packed full of students. Some were studying and some were just relaxing after a rough day of classes. The Science Students were sitting at their table discussing the latest lecture. "My bicorder says that this crystal here is definitely made of Corbomite!" says Willie Spencer. "Try combining it with this tri-oxide compound!" Emma says excited. The Medical Students were discussing a patient that they were assisting while the Command Students talked strategy for the infamous Mobayashi Karu test. Admiral Nacheyav had just ordered a cup of coffee. While she was not a fan of the replicated coffee, she liked visiting the students and showing a presence amongst them. It was not a smart idea. The lights had gone out all of a sudden! There were some screams, the sounds of shuffling feet, and the sound of a cup hitting the floor before the lights went back on. The Admiral was dead. A datapad was carefully placed beside her. Security was called, lead by former Excalibur Security Chief George Harper, who had been promoted to Lieutenant Commander after the incident. "It says here that the League of Purists are responsible for the kill, and that they're back to try and destabilize the Navy!" Everyone gasped, but some people were faking it. "Alright everyone, we're going to scan for fingerprints, look for the weapon that killed the Admiral, and lock you all away until the culprits have been identified." "Not so fast!" a voice called out. "Oh, Fleet Admiral Bob, sir. I didn't expect you to get here so fast." Harper said, disappointed. The Fleet Admiral stepped onto the deceased Admiral, using her body as a platform. "We're going to have a Mafia Game." he declared. "But I've never played mafia before." someone said. "Don't worry, students. I'll teach you how to play. In the meantime though, nobody is permitted to leave this room until the end of the day. At night, you'll be escorted back to your quarters where you'll be restricted to them. Understood?" The students all nodded and went off to discuss the situation amongst themselves. "Shall I call a crew to remove the Admiral's body, sir?" "No. Leave the body here as a reminder." "Very well, sir." ~~~ Players: Command School: Issac Osborne - Played By: TheLazyChicken Emily Goodwin - Played By: Dragonfire Warren Thompson - Played By: lego3364 Medical School: Adam Powers - Played By: jluckhaupt Greg Kennedy - Played By: Lego Spy Sciences School: Willie Spencer - Played By: Tohst Melinda Fox - Played By: Xenophobic Monoxide Emma Lane - Played By: vampyre78 Engineering School: Fred Rhodes - Played By: Adventurer1 Jeff Yates - Played By: Getdamonkey Security School: Timothy Daniels - Played By: Calanon Jordan Foster - Played By: Comrade Commander Reserves: 1) nstickney Rules: 1) Every player has received their own character.
