  1. Absolutely. Pathetic. Compare these sets to the Batman movie sets...the designers weren't briniging their A game to this...
  2. Sarcastic 'yey' for our millionth snowspeeder ...it's even a remake. Even UCS sets are now remakes. And still we have no Cloud City and limited AOTC sets...
  3. Dreadful. The minifigs are woefully plain at a time when The Lego Batman sets offer such interesting figs. As for the vehicle...did the designer even spend a solid hour on it?
  4. This might be my fav set from the film, to date....it's just so unusual and daft and, well, fun. A great set from a great bunch of sets.
  5. 20 seconds later and the Kiss Kiss suit Batman is free of the key ring and a regular fig... ...can someone explain how a keyring is covered in printing on every possible surface (love this btw) but these Batman sets have given us a joker without backprinting and marvel figures seem to get blander by the year?! I don't understand LEGO...
  6. I guess if we take the episode 8 sets as LEGO's focus then this stuff is all just bonus content. So far the episode 7 and Rogue One sets have been as good as the source material allows. I was hoping for something more impressive - the January wave was hardly a classic either. Where's my new AT-ACT LEGO?
  7. Is...is that written in English or have I lost my mother tongue? Anyway, London toyfare is on the 24th, i.e Tuesday? Wonder what we've got incoming, much too soon for episode 8 leaks
  8. I'm floored at how good this is - that generic police officer wouldn't even get back printing in most themes, but here we get arm printing and dual moulded legs, in a new colour. Sensational!
  9. We'll get the classic 'I found this in their cache'. Oh. Again. 15 years running. Why doesn't lego just release their demos - albeit blurry to beat the bootleggers - in a structured way? We could provide better feedback and wouldn't be made to feel like lego thinks we're stupid. Okay we ARE stupid for paying these prices, but you know what I mean.
  10. The 2009 AAT was likely the same, I'm sure people can think of other examples. ...maybe our missing UCS snowspeeder is another. Feedback wasn't great and now we hear of a UCS Falcon... It's all just a bit tiresome though, a month or two from now lego will make tweaks and - mysteriously - better pictures will appear for us to tear to bits, then we get the HD images that somehow get 'found' on LEGO's oh so secure server...
  11. But they AREN'T releasing confidential info. The final designs aren't leaked - just demo models for feedback. Notice the episode 8 stuff was 'blacked out'. Oh really. We give feedback and lego makes changes, or doesn't, depending on that feedback. By the time the set hits shelves the internet has alerted 10 million buyers of a product they might like, lego has tweaked the set to get it right and the cost to lego of all this has been zero.
  12. Because all these 'leaks' are controlled by lego - they are deliberate. lego wants feedback but can't publish 'final' versions of sets (and have bootleg copies released before the real thing). They give us just enough to scupper the clone brands, a taste, a bit of info or a blurry - but just clear enough pic - and the forums and Reddit help lego gauge interest. Its pathetic, tiresome and oh my god are they STILL doing this after all these years?!
  13. Indeed - have 5 so far. I'm deeply suspicious of the dustribution ratio. Some figures crop up much more often...
  14. Penguin and Alfred are the same...and let's not even mention SWAT Barbara. I think the answer relates to some sort of creative 'civil war' at Lego. At least some designers just don't like detailed figures. When they design figures, we get the dross. Just look at the new Marvel sets, there's clearly a different approach at work there. As I've always said, if you'll charge these insane prices you can't have lazy sets.
  15. Great 'army builder' set for both sides, could have an entire Nexo cavalry!
  16. Get on topic! I'm quite interested in the Freemaker sets - they look quite 'different' and the Star Wars line is perhaps over reliant on remakes that said, I'm still left unsure as to what the 'theme' behind all these 2017 sets is, something that's becoming increasingly so over the years - they seem to be random (i.e neither based on popularity, a particular film or even sets that haven't been released in a while), essentially: why these? a new UCS falcon would be a superb move - assuming quality - everyone wins
  17. Picked up the new marvel sets today. Detroit Steel is a great set at a great price, Captain America's jet is just dire (not even a normal torso for Ms Marvel?!) and the Hulk set is terrific - but almost 50% more in cost than it should be...
  18. LEGO U.K. Is selling the new marvel sets £55 for the hulk set. 375 bricks. I should laugh.
  19. New sets look like they were cobbled together from any part the designer had to hand. Very poor.
  20. Happened to me with that set - just use the instructions available through lego.com
  21. What on earth is this?!
  22. eBay? Amazon? i got the Batman sets in the UK from a US seller, eBay's international postage service works very well
  23. Amazon UK has them in stock, except the store exclusive sets
  24. Astonishing! ...but how can Lego justify the lower quality in all other themes? These are light years ahead of the norm in terms of design and detailing.
