  1. I'll probably end up with all of them anyway as its my job, but I think the xbox needs to come down in price or offer a kinect free version. They are each nice machines in their own way, but ultimately its the games not the machines that matter
  2. Thats why I only said it might be the case, not that it was the case (it was for Indy 4). I wasnt sure if Warner had licensed the film out to another developer / publisher or even if there is a stand alone Hobbit 2 game in the wings (ie a none lego game). It doesnt always follow that the company who owns the film, makes the game. I worked at Sony for over 10yrs, and usually sony films were licensed out to other developers not to the in house sony computer entertainment development studios (though in essence sony pictures and sony computer entertainment are different companies under the sony umbrella). Likewise EA now have the star wars licence, bar the mobile and social part which Disney retained. (sorry Off topic) All in all though, lets hope new Lego Hobbit game is good !
  3. Favourite recently is Gamorrean Guard, the new one. I like the figure and as a kid, the kenna toy of this was my fav. Least favourite, I really think chewbacca could be improved on a fair bit.
  4. Either would be great, its been quite some time since the original cloud city set
  5. I think it will come out around the time the second film is released on BluRay / DVD, (april at a guess). And then there will undoubtedly be a game for the 3rd film, possibly released on its own or as part of a collection. There are some peculiarities with their licencing (travellers tales) for example they couldnt release an Indy Episode 4 lego game to coincide with the film, only the original trilogy as another company had the licence for the game of the 4th film with some months exclusivity. So they had to wait to release 'the adventure continues'. It might be the licence doesnt allow them to release a lego hobbit game to coincide with the film but only several months after
  6. I have a WiiU, looking forward to the new mario. (also the new Zelda on 3DS is great) I will get a ps4 at some point but not yet, I'm just not impressed by the launch titles, and I have a stack of ps3 and xbox360 games to play anyway - solittle time This is the first time since the days of the NES that I wont have bought a console on launch for a new generation (I got the WiiU in the summer sales) I'm quite happy with GTAV, Zelda, Mario, and the currentgen versions of AC4 etc
  7. Day of the Doctor was great fun. Watched the Hobbit (again) at the weekend in preparation for the second one, it will be our first trip to the cinema this year owing to the fact we have a new baby daughter.
  8. It will be interesting to see if Lego are allowed to produce sets for the new star wars film to coincide with launch (dec 2015) and if so, just how secret they manage to keep the sets in the run up. I do think its harsh on NA that the 4th series of planets wasnt released. I guess over the years they will become collectors items to an extent, but it seems a bit unfair to not even sell them there online
  9. Awesome, cant believe I missed that, thank you :D
  10. Dont forget, disney now own Star Wars, they may have some influence over what things can be done. I am sure Lego wont abandon the older fans, but I agree the spring loaded weapon type features are clearly aimed at the younger audience.
  11. Never been a huge Dr Who fan but my wife is and during the Matt Smith years I have learned to appreciate it I thought last nights celebration episode was superb, really good 'fan service'. Worth watching even if, like me you arent the biggest Dr Who fan around
  12. Thats really impressive and I love your themed Slave 1, really cool.
  13. The Kashyyk battle pack is probably my favourite from the pictures, cool figures and the ship looks like it has potential. I like the troopers in the death star pack but not overly keen on the gun, likewise with the Utapau set. But I guess battle packs are mainly for figures, the model is a bonus.
  14. Nice. My Duel On Geonosis arrived yesterday, picked it up when it was super cheap on Amazon. Not sure whether to keep it or not yet, I want the figures but not too bothered abut the rest
  15. New Palpatine looks great Microfighters price will hopefully not be more than £9.99 or it will be a case of waiting for offers and sales. Its annoying that the 4th series of planets are limited in supply / shops, I've had to pay £11.99 for them from the local lego shop, but its been offset by some online bargains. Outside the microfighters and battle packs nothing is really grabbing me from the initial wave, although seeing things close up in the shop often changes my mind :D
  16. I like the look of the microfighters, given they are effectively replacing the planets, is it fair to guess they will be the same price? Really like the Tie Interceptor and the Falcon
  17. @Montyofmusic good point about the scaling, I think you are right the current snow speeders are probably about right. So I guess the set I ideally want, would be too big for figures and is unlikely. I'll be checking out the set set you recommended though, thanks. @jindianajonz I guess we've had luke and han in previous, and vadar from the empire strikes out dvd. On similar lines, Yoda, Darth Maul and Fett covered by the calendars so far, Perhaps Leia? or Chewwy?
  18. yeah thats a set I've been considering, but ideally I'd like a set that was about £50 that was just a snowspeeder and figure, A bit like the X-Wing sets I guess which tend to come in at that price range. I might pick that set up though, given a snowspeeder doesnt seem to be on the horizon, thanks :D I guess something between 7130 and the UCS one, in terms of size / price, would be ideal
  19. My amazon bargains arrived
  20. My 3DS copy arrived today! But the wife wont let me have it until Christmas. :( I dont remember that bit being in the wedding vows, but those are the breaks I guess
  21. I'd love a snowspeeder in the £50 range as its one of the ships I dont have A, UCS speeder bike, Landspeeder or Slave One could be awesome too although I am running out of space for more Lego :(
  22. I was talking to a friend recently about the prices of battle packs and how they are now £11.99 in the uk, rather than £9.99 We started discussing if we'd prefer them to be £11.99 as they are, or, be £9.99 (or £8.99 unlikely) but have 3 figures rather than 4. We both felt the planets were slightly over priced for what they gave, but think the new sets replacing the planets look like better value. But going forward with battle packs, I'd like to see lego try and keep the cost down even if it meant losing a figure, in order to keep them at a price that kids can afford I know this is 2014 set discussion, and this seems off topic (if it is too much please move it, sorry), but I guess what I am asking is, if they 2014 battle packs (or future ones 2015 etc) came with 3 figures, but kept the price down, would people mind?
  23. Thats awesome! I had that transporter as a kid, if I remember correctly it had buttons for playing R2D2 and C3PO sound effects ??
  24. Ordered the sail barge today from amazon, probably have to wait until xmas before I can build it though
  25. just wanted to say a belated thank you for this review. This is probably the main set out there that I dont have but realyl want (thats readily available). But I have been changing my mind in recent weeks so I decided to dig out some reviews. I think this review might just have made my mind up to make this set my next big purchase. Thanks for the review.
