  1. couple of the older hobbit sets on sale on amazon Unexpected Gathering £43 (from £60) http://www.amazon.co...rds=lego hobbit Escape from Mirkwood £17 http://www.amazon.co...rds=lego hobbit oh and star Wars AT-RT is £13, it seems to float between 15-20 a lot of the time, decent set for £13 http://www.amazon.co...=lego star wars microfighters are also there for the rrp of 8.99, not noticed the other new sets though except 75037 - battle on saleucami
  2. My local sainsburys (woolton, Liverpool) had set 75000 for 5.99 this week, I bought 4, there were plenty left though on Thursday They had lots of 75001 too but not reduced, but I suspect if they are clearing shelf space for the new sets then they might come down for a flash sale soon
  3. Not really a review but a few comments on the 75030 Falcon microfighter I bought it the other day and built it earlier, it was £8.99 from the lego store Ship itself is nice and compact / chunky, but still has detail. Easily modifiable to alter where Han sits if you prefer a straight out Falcon (I'll pick up a second to do this I think). I prefer it to the old 4488, which always felt a little flat to me, and lacked detail in parts The actual plastic, I dont know if its me or my imagination but the lego feels a little spongy at times, not every piece but some of them, its not a bad thing, just doesnt feel the same. I like the set, I'm not convinced about the price, if the Microfighters were £6.99, then there are some (X wing, tie fighter) that I would buy plenty of, but for £8.99 I wont be buying multiples, I think its a little expensive. £7.99 might have been a tempting sweet spot. Hopefully when some stores do 3 for 2, I'll pick up more because getting 3 for £18 would be very good value I think. Its not that its bad just that one figure and a small ship for only £3 less than a battle pack seems expensive (or makes you think the battle packs are great value) Overall I'd recommend anyone picking up a microfighter even if they are a bit unsure, I certainly dont think its disappointing, but I am a sucker for anything Falcon based.
  4. Liverpool Lego shop had the series 4 planets on sale at £8.39 each today They didnt have 75009 (hoth) left though, just 75011 (alderaan) and 75010 (endor) Definitely going to be hard to find these in coming months / years
  5. Snowspeeder! Hope its true, wanted a decent sized one for a while
  6. The only real cheap stuff in smyths were some planets for £2.99 - All Bespin though, and thats not one I'd buy lots of, even for £2.99 Still, quite happy with the Wargs set, half wish I'd bought two
  7. Attack of the Wargs is £24.99 at Smyths. I tried to buy online but it said no, however it allowed me to check local stock, and there were some left in Liverpool, Speke. Might be worth a look for some http://www.smythstoys.com/lego-the-hobbit-1250sc/lego-hobbit-attack-of-the-wargs-79002-125225itm.aspx
  8. Saw Desolation of Smaug last week Enjoyed it, but want to see it again to soak it all in, going to wait til the bluray / dvd though, cinema experience was slightly ruined by having a few loud idiots sitting by us
  9. Who I know is a member here and I suspect these have been posted a long time ago and so perhaps some new images here or it might be new content for some newer forum members. Truly stunning, and if it is a repost, well I am sorry, but perhaps they deserve to be reposted http://www.flickr.com/photos/avanaut/

  12. Another superb moc. That sail barge is wonderful, and the pit looks really cool
  13. Wow, thats awesome. I wish I had the space for such a creation, think my wife would go nuts if I took over the dining table Ace stuff
  14. New STAR WARS advent calendar £12.49 at argos, collect only but can check local stores on website http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9013816.htm#pdpPromotions
  15. thank guys. when I joined and hardly posted for 3 years or so. Spent most of my time just reading and trying to learn things from the mocs people do. I am so impressed in general with the things people make. Changed jobs in the last 18months or so giving me a little more time to post
  16. Does anyone know if all the microfighters will be released in one go, or if they will be staggered, 3 then 3 like the planets where
  17. I bought nappies lots of nappies on Amazon black friday deals And the Lego Detective from the minifigures series 5? I'm going to try and get a Holmes and Watson together, thinking of business man series 8 as a start for watson, with a head from rebel trooper battle pack. Still considering which flesh head to use for Holmes
  18. Watched the Lone Ranger yesterday (dvd arrived early). I was expecting it to be a bit rubbish, but it wasnt too bad. Not quite a comedy more action adventure. Certainly not as bad as some reviews made out when it was released
  19. two regrets, not getting back into lego earlier than I did and being indecisive over buying the ucs falcon. for months I thought about it, as I had the money and my gf (now wife) said, get it. I finally decided to buy it, it was about 1 week after they had stopped selling it. I phoned lego shops, I rang various toys r us, but no stock. :( Sure I wouldnt have space for it anyway, but I wish I'd been more decisive
  20. Peter Jackson will probably split the last film into 3 films too, just to stretch it out
  21. Really nice Artanis, its cool seeing all the different ones together like that. I wont ask you to pick a fav, but from your picture I really like the dark green one on the second row, from set 9491 right? I have that unopened somewhere (quite a few sets stored in the loft)
  22. The games company I work for, we made a game for Christmas in our lunch hours over the past month, its on android and ios and it is free Its not about lego, but it does have bricks, hope you enjoy it iOS link https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/advent- ... 09977?mt=8 Android link https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... 23. I want a larger snowspeeder than the ones that come with the play sets, about the size of the £50 Xwings. A bit like the old UCS snowspeeder I guess, but smaller. I suspect a MOC might be my best chance though
  24. I'd quite like a new AT-AT if there isnt a new snowspeeder any time soon.
  25. Hi, I've been a member for a long time, but never really posted much until the past few months. I loved lego as a kid, I still have some of my space lego from the early 80s. I got back into lego about 8 years ago I guess, it was when the 6205 V-wing set came out. I bought it on a whim from woolworths on the way home from work and made it that night. At the time I was working on a playstation game called wipeout, and the V-wing design was similar to some of the ships in the game we were making, I even tried to get sony marketing to approach lego to do a tie in but our marketing manager wasnt interested. I love star wars, so I mostly go for star wars lego, but I have some super hero and technic sets too and lord of the rings Thats about it I think
