  1. "Sounds good to me. I suppose you would be replacing your current headwear with the tricorne?" "Perhaps we could head east if you are interested." Purpearl winks at Kiray.
  2. OOC: Thanks for hosting! Stats look good except for the missing Decamon Deck. Purpearl greets the farmer as she reaches the Fields, "I hope you've a lovely day Mack Donauld." Turning to the Munchkin rogue, holding up her Chaotic Whip, "I noticed that you have a couple of throwing weapons, do you think you can crack a whip? I could lend it to you for this journey if you want. It might not crackle as loud as the others, perhaps it can be a backup weapon of choice, just as a precaution." Turning to Siercon, "As for the Lullaby Wand, please accept this Muddy Bomb as part of the payment and as a security. I'll pay the rest of the hundred once I get my hands on them."
  3. "I do have an irresistible offer to make." Before Purpearl could continue... "Shall we talk while we make our way?" Purpearl nods politely as she begins to gather her belongings and heads out with the rest of the party.
  4. Purpearl approaches Siercon, "I noticed your trade list and I'm in interested in that Lullaby Wand, is it still available my friend?"
  5. "What about those Teddy bears? Surely they don't converse, do they?" says Purpearl as she held back on her words.
  6. "I'm happy to be part of your team and looks like you've rallied the others too. Have you been to the Fields? Because I've no experience, unfortunately." Purpearl signs up for Quest #122.
  7. "Seems like there are more than six of us. I would be more than happy to join your group if there is one, and if you don't mind." says Purpearl. "Pleasure to meet you, nonetheless. Purpearl Berthadhiell. Mystic Knight." Looking over at his list of wares for sale, "You have some that piqued my interest, it's a pity however. My gold pouch is as light as the material that holds its form."
  8. Wishing all a Merry Christmas!
  9. Purpearl finds herself in the Hall once again, this time with a number of Decamon cards in her hands. "I wonder if these are really legitimate, or even valuable." says Purpearl, having a closer look at the cards while she approaches the quest board. Purpearl signs up for the Fields of Glory, "I would like to experience the extent of this endless string of feral beasts they so hold highly in regard, if there are no other reasons for me to get out on a quest."
  10. "Hold your horses. Volt Ant (Electric 1) trumps Tweetybird (Flying 1). You win!" Round 3 Purpearl responds with Scarab (Rock 1)! Round 4 Purpearl plays Will-o'-the-Wisp (Fiery 1)!
  11. Revealing her cards, Purpearl nods at the orc, "Purpearl Berthadhiell, pleased to meet you." Round 1 Purpearl plays Lucky Rabbit (Icy 1) in response to Sham Poo's Barghest (Electric 2). Round 2 Purpearl plays Tweetybird (Flying 1).
  12. "Sure, my friend." Purpearl hands her Will-o'-the-Wisp (Fiery 1) to the dwarf in exchange for the Magic Carp (Aquatic 1). "Pleasure to meet you and good luck."
  13. Purpearl holds up her spare Fiery card, "Does anyone want to trade an Aquatic card for it?"
  14. "Perhaps a coin spin may point you towards reality?" Purpearl whispers, with a gold coin in her outstretched palm.
  15. "Hmm... In that case, if there's anything you need, please do not hesitate."
  16. Purpearl recognises Karie at the front and walks up to her with 25 gold in hand, "What a fine coincidence meeting you here, Karie. Here's the gold that I owed from not long ago. And good luck with the tournament." (38-25=13) drawing a smile as she hands Karie the gold. Purpearl approaches the Dummy and attempts to buy a couple of hands, like she had planned, but only a single hand appears to be possible. Purpearl buys 1 Beginner's Hand for 5 gold. (13-5=8)
  17. Transiently returning to the Hall, Purpearl notices a new quest on the board and becomes aware of her own liminality. Purpearl signs up for Quest #121, hoping to move through this space of unknowing.
  18. Thanks for the comments, Zepher! Purpearl has only been onto three quests, so there's still a lot more to discover. Depending on what happens in future quests, I'm letting it flow as it comes, so who knows what will happen next! But I'm glad you had fun hosting Purpearl and I'll look forward to another Zepher quest. As for the other side quest, I'll get to it soon enough. I had fun with the Wolfgangers, especially with Cheech and Quinn from #83, and Watsap from #87 fitted in very nicely. Loved Crazy Dan and Nona the Witch as well, not to sure what to expect from Nona in the future, having owed her one!
  19. Some thoughts on 102, perhaps not so much onto the nitty gritty and the mechanics, just in general, simply. First of all, thank you, Zepher, for hosting another long quest like this one, takes a lot of dedication and commitment to pull this one off on top of your busy schedule, so that's one for you. I have been through 83, 90 and 102 with Purpearl Berthadhiell and I am pleased to say 102 is the one that fully brings out Purpearl as a character. Mainly due to the amount of choices that each of us have to make throughout, and I am glad I've stuck with what Purpearl would've done and how her journey as a Mage ended on a high. I've ditched the stereotypical Purpearl in 83 (feminists wouldn't take that very well I guess ) and went for something more realistic in 90, something you would often see in today's world, someone who has her opinions and is stubborn about it. 102 just amplifies that trait a hundred times more and as a player there is nothing much I can ask for in terms of the amount of character development opportunities it has presented to us. I am pleased to get to where I wanted Purpearl to be before she goes into Mystic Knight, certainly interesting to see how that plays out with another added element of complexity (maybe more on that in the Theatre). Overall, for 102, I have to admit I haven't put much thought into battle strategy as much as 90, could have done better if not for work and real life, but in hindsight, they were many and they were short and sweet and that's a plus. The last battle is a bit of a hit or miss but I am not too concerned as a player or for Purpearl, (maybe she might be, but I haven't thought about it. Perhaps an early failure for Purpearl is a good motivation in the long run) but we all love Heroica so it doesn't really matter as long as we enjoy the stories and roleplaying right?
  20. With some time on her hands, Purpearl makes her way into the Marketplace and buys 10 Grand Tonics from Portia. With 38 Gold left in her pouch and a full set of battle ready armour, she heads towards Bric'lin, alone. [338 - (10x30) = 38]
  21. "Sounds reasonable to me, I will gladly accept your offer."
  22. Purpearl extends her hand to Regulus and nods at Miirym. "Regulus. Miirym." Purpearl straps the shield onto her arm and moves her arm around, assuming several stances with the shield. She could feel the outcome of her training with Copper Fox, something she could not do as a Mage. "Your magic flows deep within this shield, strengthening it to what is it now. I'm impressed." Purpearl hands the shield back to Regulus, "I like it, but it is ultimately yours. I have yet to enchant my own, I would love to do the same someday as you've done to your shield."
  23. Purpearl nods at the Dragoon and his golden dragon, "Hello, you must be... friends with the Shadeaux? I must say, you and the senior sitting right there are very observant." Purpearl signals at Pretzel, acknowledging his offer. "I am indeed in search of a shield. But I am not prepared to part with my gold. I will try my luck to find one if I get onto another quest. I see that you have a relatively sturdy arm shield, do you mind if I hold that for a second? The ones at Copper Fox's place would be ideal, but they are neither for loan or for sale...... Oh forgive me, my name's Purpearl Berthadhiell, and you can say I am relatively new around here. Have a seat." And Purpearl pours a drink for the Dragoon.
  24. Purpearl enters the Hall, heads straight to the Quest Board and signs up for Quest #120. <Right, I need a shield. Perhaps I should head on to the Marketplace> she thought to herself. <Perhaps a drink at the Saloon wouldn't hurt, since there's still time> and Purpearl heads up to the Saloon.
  25. Purpearl enters the Training Room and stands before Copper Fox. Purpearl bows slightly. "My name's Purpearl Berthadhiell, Elven Mage, also known as The Carnival Crusader. My presence in this organisation is more of a... recent event but I believe it is time for me to push my skills to the next level. Please enlighten me, Master Fox." "Berthadhiells. Elves." Copper Fox scratches his chin. "Your wares are ancient, young elf, including your out of fashioned dress. Where did you get your hands on that wand?" "My past is unclear, Master Fox. I was raised by adoptive parents. This wand was there beside where I was found." "That explains everything. You are weak physically and your magic flows through your vessels like a rapid flowing river set on fire. Magic can be a hindrance if you are not careful. Control is what you would need, like a dam on a fast flowing river." "I will do whatever it takes. Take me under your wing. I wish to train as a Mystic Knight." "A fine choice, Purpearl. I cannot imagine you doing down the path of a Sorcerer, or a Battle Mage. Follow me." And so Purpearl trained hard under Copper Fox. Soon she developed the strength of a Knight, coupled with her magic, she is able to make her attacks stronger and was able to defend herself more effectively with a shield. As her training continued, Purpearl realised that from time to time, there would be a surge of uncontrollable magic flowing through her, causing her to fumble in her steps and miss her target. Under the guidance of the Veteran, Purpearl has learnt to effectively channel that surge of uncontrollable magic into her weapons, raising its power. During her time with Copper Fox, Purpearl also learnt diplomatic skills that she failed terribly at over the couple of quests she had been in. After an undefined amount of time training, and a change of clothes, Purpearl steps out of the Training Room feeling refreshed, as a Mystic Knight.
