It seemed to Boomingham, at this point, the smartest thing to do would be to just separate the clan leaders from the subjects, but he could understand the issues with doing something like that. He makes eye contact with Nerwen as a soldier brushes by her, trying to gauge if he and she should make a move against him. Worse come to worse, if they detained the wrong person, they could release them later. He was without leads at the particular moment... Boomingham moves to F3. He hadn't thought of suspecting those not wearing masks, but the idea was starting to form in his mind. Something about Jaret's insistance in not having ulterior motives... his cause may still be good... but on the other hand, Boomingham had no real proof for it. He has a quiet smile. "I am not such good friends with the Nords for... obvious reasons... but there are a few that brave that and trade near the water. You can most likely negotiate some sort of transport from them, at least to a closer port." Is Dyric ready to return to Eubric? "You're a nosy little gnome. I already told you what it was for." She rubs her snot and deflates. "You're right, I don't like using Etheria's influence for outside affairs. There are a great number of wars we could be involved in - there are magic users nearly everywhere. The wisest thing to do is to deal with ourselves and only ourselves. That has been our MO since day one. But you saw the same thing I did. Pigley has never come to Etheria since he left here, much less begging for help. I don't know when that'll happen, or if it happened already and I refused him... time is difficult here, and you can find yourself talking to the dead more often than you'd think... but if something is coming for him, that Orb may help. Besides, I wasn't joking about him getting up in years. He'll not live forever, and he's the only family I have left. Mom was turned into bacon for a revel in the Low Kingdoms."

Matthias is deposited swiftly into Piglina's office. She faces the gnome. "What can I help you with?" "That is an illusion. I do things for others. I found Parvati and Medusa is the wastes of Baltarok and have decided to take them to the city of Eubric, all on my own. You heroes do things for money. When was the last time you freed an Orcish slave when there weren't some gold coins attached?" He smirks. "I'll see you in Eubric, Dyric." Prince David watches with mild shock, but doesn't interject. Parvati and Solimon stare at Dyric, not maliciously but curiously, seeing if he might respond to their leader. "Don't trust her?" Melquiades laughs. "Not her, you! Why not do things in the natural order, give her the Eye, have her fulfill her part of the bargain, and then I'll fulfill mine!" "Let's see how this goes," says Lady Felix. "Melquiades, I will go on your date, no payment from the heroes necessary. Sit tight, Hoke. We'll be back in a bit." She pats the dragoon on the back and she and Melquiades warp away." "Did you figure out how to get us into the Frozen Room?" asks the Norn as she approaches the dragoon. "I'd love to see what's so dangerous about it, or if Melquiades is just being petty."

Solimon takes a step towards Dyric, but Zane holds up his hand. "You really hate me, don't you, Dyric. But what do you know about me? I was a slave in your city, won my freedom, and did whatever was within my power to gain some sort of standing. Can you really pretend you did anything different? I made a deal with the Court of Demons, sure, but you've worked alongside Old Gods when it suited your ideals as well. And we fought Wren tooth and nail, same as you. We sought the same fountain as you, and both Matthias and I drank. What do you know about me? Nothing." Zane grins lazily. "Enjoy your garbage scow if that's what you prefer." The Orb feels powerful, but whatever it's effects are, they are lost on Matthias. Perhaps that is because, as Piglina said, he would have no way to feel them. Someone who is already immortal cannot feel their life extended, and someone already under the greatest protection can feel no safer.

Boomingham glances over and watches as Skrall approaches who he intended to question next. He looks at the King and clan leaders. A guard makes his way towards the King, which Boomingham watches carefully, but other than that he doesn't have any suspects. He makes his way over to F5. Speaking to Jaret, he asks: "It's a lovely mural. You had to pull some strings for it? So you think of the battle as a victory as well? How long have you been in Baltarok, and when exactly was the battle of the bridge?" To Tarvalk: "Howdy there. Hear you're the biggest honcho of the whole bunch. I'm here working alongside your daughter, alongside all the Vauno. Bit stand-offish as far as festivities go, aren't you?" Tra-Serral, meanwhile, walks over to G2.

"But, there's nothing I can do about it now. Keep an eye on him, is all I'd advise. It can be dangerous if one lives too long and doles out justice, as a hero does. Piglina frowns as she hears what they've come to collect. "Powerful," she says as she inhales, but she stares at the Orb she has just handed Matthias. "But... what's to be done? Follow me." She leads them through stacks of treasure and eventually finds what looks like a small coin. She flips it to Hoke. "Be careful with that. Are we done now? Surely we'll need to be getting you back to Eubric shortly. I'm sure you have other foreign powers to overrule." David glances at Zane and the other as if it's for the first time. "Perhaps I haven't." His eyes linger on Zane's green skin. "But they are not my permanent guests. Only stopping for a short while, and then they'll be on their way. Regardless, there is some essence that you can almost feel off the green-skin." Zane's eyes flare at the slur, but he keeps calm. Solimon and Parvati watch him closely. "There is no doubt that he's had a drink from the Fountain. Can't you sense some sadness from him? It is a heavy thing to carry, immortality." David sighs, and turns to the hero. "But please, by your own account, what happened at the Fountain of Youth? And were you ever able to find the Captain Mighty Harold Iceborn?"

I was going to go by "basic things with personality". So no floors. It would still be tough though: for example, animals in this game sometimes have personalities, and sometimes don't! OoC: Yes sir! OoC: Won't make you look for it. "Not at all," says Solimon with a smile. "Zane is leading us to a little city called Eubric, as he promised the sisters and I. We trekked through Baltarok, but upon coming to this city we found that the prince had a particular interest in those who lived forever." He smiles, and then turns to the guard. "Well? Let us in." The guard begrudgingly opens the door. Solimon leads Dyric towards the palace. "How did things go in Etheria? I'm sure Zane will want to know." At the steps of the palace the two pass more guards, and step through some big double doors. There they are greeted by a few familiar faces. Parvati, Zane and David all stand conversing. Upon seeing Dyric, David's face lights up. "Dyric. Welcome back. I apologize for the security measures - my father is across the river in Baltarok right now, and precautions are necessary should something happen to him. I have heard, though, that you were successful in your quest!" "Yeah and a real pain in my butt about it."

Sorry for holding things up! I should be good now! Boomingham sips the drink and sputters. "Doesn't shock me that you don't tend bar often. I wouldn't invite you to either." Boomingham continues to drink regardless. "So you're a commoner then? What clan are you under? What do you think of the leaders?" "Having a great time! Thanks for having us. Free booze is tough to get on most missions." Boomingham scowls around the room sizing up the other leaders. "So Gor, Tarvalk and Grishnod as the big chaps around here, as well as yourself." Boomingham hazily tries to recall if the Vauno said that the clan leaders knew about the threat, or if he should keep it a secret. He looks over at the painting of the bridge as it's unveiled. "What's that? You chaps commemorating a battle you didn't win? What for?" "Not yet. Just planning, in case. He's got a good shot on anyone who wants. Should be prepared." He glances at the assassin at his side. "I've got a few questions about our mission, while I have you here. If one of the clan leaders is compromised... if one of them is an assassin wearing a disguise, that clan leader can safely be assumed dead already, right? If these assassins are here for them, they wouldn't take their place and leave them alive, right? And how likely is it that the clan leaders would have had a chance to be swapped out with?" "Are we sure the clan leaders are a united front? Does Grishnod dislike the others enough to have them killed?" "As for Tarvalk, did I hear some one say he's your daddy-o? Would you know if he weren't himself, and vice versa?"

I really have wanted to, for a long time, do a body count as far as how many people the heroes have killed, but its too daunting of a task. Also, deeply sorry for the wait everyone, such a busy weekend, just now getting some free time.

Before the heroes can go further into the room, the golems they just destroyed begin to reassemble! The hero prepare their weapons, but the golems are peaceful now, standing in a simple line. Piglina wanders out from behind a pile of treasures. "Thank you for the test. I can see our defenses are... weaker than I'd hoped, but not entirely underwhelming." The golems begin to march off. "I apologize to catch you off guard, but I felt it was for the best if I were going to test if we could really defend something - robbers would not know what lurked in this room if they made it this far. Besides, I may be a little sore still." Piglina tosses the heroes the Orb of Life. "What else were you planning to steal from us?" "Why should I believe you?" scowls the man. "Prince David has to be kept extra safe right now. King Valentino has gone over the bridge into Orcish lands." "Dyric!" calls Solimon from up in the sky. The mutant lands alongside the Red Lizard archer. "Having trouble negotiating passage? We had a similarly hard time at first."
