Bobby repeats, with a head nod to all his best pals.

I really really want to give my critique on 104... but I just have to carve out the time between classes/homework/current quests. Like I said, I really loved it, but I want to give it the appropriate response. I will be slowing down significantly after this batch of quests. I don't know if people really know what my finale will be about yet. But it will not relate back to Wren too much. I feel I told that story already.

Boomingham smiles at Em. "Piss off Regret," he repeats. Then to his friend: "I'm ready to keep moving. We're wasting time chit chatting with this chap."

"Only if he proves dangerous," says Russel with boisterous confidence. The heroes set out on the road, but barely get five minutes into their journey (not enough time, even, for Malty to start his tale) when the run across a horse in the road, rearing up, whinnying wildly. Its rider is barely hanging on. The reason soon becomes clear... the roads are indeed dangerous. "Travelers, help me!" cries the man. "Been a while since I've seen one of these. Right, Alexis?" As much as I know about computers, magic may have been what happened. Unfortunately it's apparently not totally fixed... but its manageable.

"I haven't the foggiest. I'm more than prepared for a fight, whenever you are. Dispatch of us now, if it is that easy." Boomingham rolls his eyes gamely at Masson. "Oh don't we know it, but don't you worry, you'll beat that curse yet."
-
OoC: Not exactly, actually. Let's say that you are wearing the Regret's Cape. If in round one of the battle Purpearl rolls a special damage that gives her the confused effect, suddenly the Cape offers immunity to confused. It will function that way for the rest of the battle. Understand? Whereas Grimmau's seems to block only the first negative effect against you, the cape grants immunity to the first negative effect to come into play. "Oh my!" cries Malty, but then, reading the expressions of the others, realizes that Matthias is really not all that dangerous. He chuckles at both the gnome and himself. "Oh my, you heard that! What excellent ears. That song I was playing is called the Seven Stars for Seven Lords. It isn't in a language I know - I had to learn it phonetically - but it is a marvelous tune all the same and I know the general gist of the story, if it interests you!" "Lovely. Thank you. Yes, I have heard that the road is dangerous as of late. As for my intention - I am a traveling Minstrel! I have been in this town for a good two weeks. Everyone tires of my songs eventually, so I must move on. Ve'er, Eubric, whichever... doesn't matter to me where I go as long as it's new. I've never been to Ve'er before, and I just came from Eubric, so I thought I may as well see the west of Uland. Thank you so much for letting me come along!" The heroes set down the road, now with a new pal! Malty Level 31 Minstrel Health: 50/50 Defense: 1 Ether: 34/34 Equipment: Vocal Cords (Suitable for Malty, WP: 8, cannot be de-equipped, WP cannot be lowered), Traveller's Cloak (Backwear, SP: 1) Inventory: Potion x2, Remedy, Tonic, Seven Stars for Seven Lords (Boosts the party's power and health by 7 for round. Costs 7 ether), Lost Lovers (Enamors one foe with one ally for the round. Costs 5 ether).

Boomingham sheaths his sword, and discreetly heals himself and Erdy. He scoffs at the Regret. "I'll say the same thing to you as I said to Iris. You keep saying you're not playing some game, but we're not fighting right now, so let's either do that, or we can go kill your hordes of inky beasties and then kill you." He then turns on Masson. "You can't die yet, Stealer. You owe me, remember? So stay out of the way." He winks.

"Ooooo baby," says Bobby as he snags some gold. "This is a good day for me, you know it." He repeats his attack.

Good news everyone! My laptop has been resurrected. I have some meetings to get through, some school work to catch up on, but updates should be rolling in this evening!! Thanks again for your patience.
-
"This is getting tiresome. If you are indeed weaker than Severus, I can promise you that your jabs at our morale are equally misplaced. We know that you have Masson, and we know that we'll have to kill a lot of you to get him back and kill the Regret. We know that we'll be able to do it, so really it's not swaying us much this way or that if you chaps keep bringing it up. The situation in this room hasn't changed. You haven't given us anything new to feel bad or good about, and I think," Boomingham glances around at his compatriots for confirmation, "that we were killing you whatever you said once we stepped in here, so really, what game are we playing? Don't be mistaken, I love games, but I'd at least like to know what can be lost and won. Right now this seems like spinning in boring ol' circles while you wait to die."
-
After this round of updates I'm heading back up to school, which means leaving behind this functioning family computer and returning to the wait for my laptop to be revived! So, you'll probably have me back around Wednesday or Thursday, sorry again for the wait.
-
"Hey, when you're right, you're right. Sorry about that, boss man. You know what's up." Bobby follows Benji's instructions (until I get my laptop back!).

OoC: A clarification of the cape, because I'm afraid I didn't word things properly: assuming that confused (for example) is the first negative effect afflicted in the next battle, then the cape will protect against confused for the duration of that battle. It does not protect you only once per battle, it just protects against one thing per battle. Hopefully that's understood better, if there was in fact any confusion. Nerwen does not have any regular tonics. I did not have her drink a grand tonic because its more of an investment. Just let me know what you want to do, Chromeknight! I didn't want to assume. The Armored Reaper bows and retreats to her fortress. "I wish you luck, heroes." The party gets a good night sleep. XX twists and turns a little, and Nerwen rests with her legs crossed and her eyes almost open, making sure that no one disturbs the party. But the night passes uneventfully in front of the Reaper's fortress, and when the sun bursts into the sky the heroes begin to stir, feeling refreshed. You are a true scholar." Russel tosses back the bedroll. "So we hit the road again? Who do we have left? That Mopag, the winged lady, Chauncey, right? Assuming we're leaving the Reaper like we found her." He throws a little salute at the fortress. "She wasn't all that bad. Held up her deal. Maybe I'll do business with her in the future. Seems a bit cold hearted, though. Not so much my style." The heroes make their way onto the main road. The sun burns in the sky. The Fifth of the Week will be a sunny day, apparently. As the heroes begin their travels towards Ve'er a voice calls out to them. "Howdy-ho, fellow travelers!" "Where are you headed? Oh, sorry, guess I should explain myself. My name is Malty, and I'm a traveling Minstrel. I'm on my way to Ve'er… but I hear the further from Eubric you get, the more dangerous the roads get - less policing and all that, around the smaller towns. Anyway, I'd really appreciate it if you let me travel alongside you, if you are heading that way. It could be a huge help, and I would feel much more safe with your numbers. I can carry my own weight too, I pinky pinky promise."
-
"And look, Karie, no love for us." Boomingham bows to the woman oculoid. "Greetings, I am Lord Lawrence Boomingham. I'm afraid I'm a little bit behind the others as you seem to hate them and vice versa and we haven't even had the pleasure of meeting yet and learning to hate each other. Anyway, I'm going to be killing you alongside them, so I figured I might as well introduce myself, so you can curse us all equally as you perish."
-
"Hey, boss man, why not see what's going down, you know? What's up with the big guy? I dunno, but you dunno, so let's see what his thing is, right?" Bobby nods to the half-giant. "Yo man, you got my support, you do you."
-
We needed someway to make the rarely-hitting Knight a nice little class. So they get to buff their SP, while the rest of you have to wait for drops.
-
"Yes, I need sleep as well. Maybe if we hadn't continued last night…" Russel yawns. "If you wish somewhere to rest, this clearing will be safe. It is a place lost to the world - none can find it unless they are shown how. Very few people know the way, and I doubt many of them would be looking to harm you." OoC: You will get the Hinckwell rep either way - they can hear through the grapevine that you cleared their name! Of course, if you wish to attempt to return to them, that's alright with me too.
-
"Yo man, we can't be fighting any of these dudes if they're still alive under- over? - their skeletons. Ain't right, know what I'm saying. I mean, sure maybe if they're already dead that'd be tight to kill 'em but not if they're still alive." Bobby turns to the skeleton. "Dude, real dude, town guard dude- you know dude, the good guy down there. Can you tell us where to find this crazy wacko guy?"
-
Boomingham nods respectfully to Karie. "I'm not playing any games, dear. Now is not the time for lots of words, I suppose, but know this. When I say Masson will leave here alive, I am willing to die to see it done. Doesn't change my view on him or you. But know I'm with you until I'm not." He drinks a mead and nods to Em. "Your party is all chummy now, and I'm prepared to go."
-
"Your word as a Paladin means little to me, but your word as a hero means much. You are like me, I suspect. You have little need to kill me - you need only fulfill your job… and my job is already done, so why should I endanger my life?" The Reaper bangs her scythe on the ground, and the skeletons fall apart suddenly, now just mere piles of bones. The heroes feel the experience of another battle won through thought instead of muscle. "I will have to replace the one you've killed, but you may take the spoils. That is how you operate, I know." The heroes may collect the loot the Regret's Guard dropped. "The town you seek in Ve'er. Aventine is there, along with Chauncey and Zelphie. They will fight at the end of the week. Is there anything else you need from me?" The Reaper speaks in a monotone the entire time. Her cold eyes pierce each member of the party. "Good thing we didn't have to actually fight her. She gives me shivers."

Hey all! An update: I am on my home computer now - as I said I was going home this weekend anyway to see a concert in Central Park! Exciting! So, that's the good news - I am able to post updates tonight and maybe Saturday before I head back up. I'm sure you will all understand if I still keep my plans pretty similar to what they were, however. I love Heroica, but still intend to spend my day in the city tomorrow. As a second part of the update: My laptop chose the "expensive" problem to have. But, we know what it is. The people who are holding it hostage (fixing it) assure me it will be ready by Wednesday or Thursday. So, updates will resume more regularly whenever I get it back.
-
110, 105, 107, 102: some bad news. My laptop, whenever I attempt to turn it on, makes the noises of SOS in morse code and doesn't boot up. For obvious reasons, i will be unable to get online. The IT guy told me either it would be easy and cheap to fix, or incredibly expensive. I have my photos backed up (thank the gods) but the quests will be on hold. I am going home this weekend (totally different reason) so may be able to update from there, but no updates today or tomorrow. I don't imagine that it will take more than a week to fix (or at least I hope). Thank you for your patience. I can promise you that I am more frustrated than you: not only because I will miss heroica but because I need my laptop for school and netflix and pretty much my life. So thank you again for understanding, and I wish this wasn't the case.

Acteaon, if you have the time to burn and want to really know the story of Dastan, read 29, 30, and 31. They're the introduction to the continent that I'd say is the second most important after Uland, and one you (appear to) have a passion for.

"What assurance do I have you will not kill me once you have your information. Where is Magnar, after all? Surely he is dead."
