  1. I think he's referring to the M:Cola add in the second SP3 video (Can't remember what its called, Police Chase or something). It's styled after the M:Tron logo. An Ice Planet logo can be seen in the distance also. Of course, I could be wrong, but I've seen no M:Tron referances in the sets I own so far.
  2. Blacktron III is something I want to do for sure. I may look at updating some of the Blacktron II ships to match the current style. Can't wait for the new space helmet to be released in black!
  3. Surely it'd be easier to part out the VX Falcon and order the parts seperately through Bricklink? I would imagine the cost would be around half of what you'd pay for the whole set, so that works out about right. I did a similar thing with the Batmobile last year. I paid a fraction of what the whole set would have cost me. In terms of the smaller sets, I picked up the Raid VPR along with the Space Police Central yesterday, and I have to say, I'm very impressed with it as a small fighter. It looks much better in real life than the pictures indicated. I bought it for my son, but now, after having built it, I'm contemplating buying a few more copies to have a small fighter squadron. All in all, I'm really pleased with the 2010 Space Police wave. Next on my to buy list is the Lunar Limo, but after having bought the Space Police Central and the Raid VPR during double points week, I know have enough points to get the Limo for £25, so pretty pleased about that. I'll probably skip the Undercover Cruiser (as I tend to favour the BHG), but other than that, I'll have the whole 2010 wave. Seriously contemplating creating a Space Police comic...
  4. I'm in a similar boat to you Artanis I. My Space Police Central should be arriving today, so the fleet is getting quite large now, with the Galactic Enforcer and VX Falcon already owned. However, I particularily enjoy the BHG, and have most of their large-ish ships. Just the Lunar Limo to go now! Really excited to see what 2011 brings as far as Space is concerned.
  5. Thanks Artanis I! Yes, they're pretty cool. Can't wait for them to be available in other colours. Who knows, maybe in a new Space theme next year? Bring back Futuron!
  6. Well, your doing a good job so far, Cardinal Brick. I look forward to the next review!
  7. Thanks for the great review Cardinal Brick! Really looking forward to your future Unitron reviews. Being in the UK, we never saw Unitron back in the 90's, with the notable exception of the commander in the minifig pack (as you mentioned). That guy was my favourite out of the whole lot, and I only ever had the one! Really pleased your doing Unitron reviews, as it gives me a chance to get a proper look at these sets, of which I've only ever seen on the internet. With regards to this set, I do feel that the base is somewhat disjointed in terms of spacing. It feels a little to stretched out and open, if that makes sense? Still, the minifigures are great, and the vehicles are quirky, and thus cool.
  8. That is very cool indeed. The fact that TLG are putting commercials out there for SP3 sets is an encouraging sign I would think. Thanks for posting it!
  9. I'd love to see a civillian faction introduced into the Space theme next year. Maybe City in Space, or even a revamp of Futuron, with peaceful Space exploration (although, it could be argued that the Lego Space timeline has advanced with SP3, and the planets Futuron discovered back in the 80's have already been colonised). After all, the Black Hole Gang really do need someone to commit crimes against and terrorise!
  10. Lovely little ship you have there Lightningtiger! I'm currently working on turning the Spaceman from the collectible minifig series into a new civillian faction for SP3. This ship, though small, has given me lots of inspiration for colour schemes and design! Thanks!
  11. You know what, thats a damn good point. It's also a female face with a scared expression on the reverse. May have to reshoot that one with the appropriate expression.
  12. Thanks for the positive comments Will, much appreciated! I did think about an alternative blood colour, but reasoned that the inside of their mouths is red, so the blood might be also. Funny you should mention SP3 availability in the UK, I have *just* received the following email from Lego Direct: Curious eh? Cheers, Dan
  13. Greetings folks, Having never submitted a vignette to this forum before, I decided to have a go at creating a simple scene for my current theme of choice, Space Police. Let me know what you think. Having cut a swathe of distruction and murder across the galaxy, the Skull Twins are finally brought to justice. Cornered by Space Police Commandos with nowhere to run, the surviving Skull Twin makes one final death or glory assault on the Space Police Officers... Weathering the onslaught of blaster fire behind their downed speeder, the Space Police Commandos attempt to bring down the frenzied Skull Twin: INCOMING! As I said, this is my first ever vignette, so let me know what you think. Cheers, Dan
  14. Mark, as a massive Doctor Who fan, let me just say that that is fantastic. Can I ask, what paint did you use to paint the blue and red pieces? I wouldn't mind having a go at that myself, and have quite some experience with acryllic paint and models. Cheers, Dan
  15. I've seen the whole line of Kingdoms sets and purchased a few in a couple of shops, so they're definately around. Not looking good for SP3 then...
  16. So, no-one got any info on this at all? As a quick update, I spoke to a staff member at a Toymaster in Penzance while away on holiday this week, and she phoned through to their warehouse. She confirmed that they cannot get Space Police 3 currently. Surely someone out there can shed some light on this?
  17. Greetings folks, Recently I've been adding to my SP3 collection, and I've had my eye on the June releases. However, outside the three Lego brand stores in the UK, nowhere else stocks them. I've been told by two different staff at Lego.com that they are no longer a Lego exclusive, and they should be available everywhere. Has anyone seen them?
  18. Thanks for the positive comments so far folks, its very encouraging! I've been working on an alternate design for this ship, based on some of the feedback I've had so far. I'm a little concerned it borrows to much from the Republic Dropship, so may stick to the original design. This version isn't complete, as I plan to but a grapple assembly in the centre for cargo transport. Either way, let me know what you think. Cheers, Kurtt
  19. If it helps, I've been assured by two different Lego shop@home staff that SP3 is no longer a Lego.com exclusive, and should be showing up in other retailers fairly soon. Heres hoping Argos and TRU have them.
  20. Excellent, thanks for reviewing this set Cardinal Brick, I've been waiting for a chance to get a better look at it. Incidentally, where in the UK did you buy this set from? Was it from a Lego brand store or another retailer? I'm trying to confirm whether or not SP3 is still a Lego exclusive or not. I've been told by staff at Lego.com that they should be available at Argos etc.
  21. To quote the 11th Doctor, 'You never want to do that'. While I agree that Space Police is targeted at a different audience to when we were kids, I can't help feel that the designers have done a tremendous job in capturing the spirit of adventure that was always present in the Space sets of the 80's and 90's. Whether it's just the subtle nods to themes of yesteryear, or the design of the sets themselves, somthing about this line has resonated with me and made me go 'yes, thats very cool'. One of the reasons why its one of my favourite themes to date. For me, this set, Space Police Central, captures the feeling of Futuron and Blacktron wonderfully. The first proper space base in over a decade. It should be celebrated, in my humble opinion. Once again, thanks for the review Copmike.
  22. I'm using it in Lego Universe mode. Those a guide on how to do it in the LDD sub forum of the Lego General Discussion forum.
  23. Ok, I've made a few tweaks to the original design, and I think I'm fairly happy with it. I was hoping to go with green accents, and use the cargo stickers from the new Undercover Cruiser set, but I quite like how the red and gold mirrors the Futuron symbol. Let me know what you think. Cheers, Kurtt
  24. I am loving this vignette! I particularily love the laser bolt going through the zombie. You just know that the Spaceman is saying 'pewpew'.
  25. Loving your version of the 11th Doctor. The torso is spot on. Not convinced about the face or hair though. I'd say a better fit for the hair may be the hair piece from the new skater collectible minifig. Great to see some Doctor Who Lego, as its one of my favourite shows currently.
