I still haven't gotten round to buying this set yet, and I really need to. Great review. I had a good long sit down with Lego Batman 2 last night for the Xbox. Flying round Gotham as Supes with the Superman theme playing in the background has to be one of the coolest things I've done in a video game in a long time.

Those are some lovely reference shots, thanks for posting. That the starship museum on Corellia? -
Wow, lovely review Whitefang. Thanks very much! I'm a big LotR fan, so I'm looking forward to all these sets. A quick question if I may: What colour would you say Eomer's beard printing is? Dark Tan perhaps? I have it mind for a custom minifig.

REVIEW 9497 - Republic Striker-class Starfighter
KurttKrueger replied to def's topic in LEGO Star Wars
An amazing set for an amazing game! Really good review Def, thanks for posting it. I picked this set up last week, and as an avid player of SWTOR, I was really looking forward to this and 9500. This set does not disappoint. It's very accurate to the in game version of this starfighter, and the minifigs, who will be well known to players of SWTOR (Satele Shan, Jace Malcolm and T7-01) are very well detail and in the likeness of the characters they portray (to see them in action, watch this ). It's currently sitting in my glass cabinet, and every time I see it, I have to resist the urge to pick it up and give it a good swoosh! -

The Republic Starfighter is a lovely ship, and well worth picking up if you get the chance. It's been sitting on my desk for nearly a week now, and I have t fight the urge to pick it up and swoosh it every time I see it (ok, I don't always fight the urge...). Lovely vibrant colour scheme as well, really makes it 'pop'. -
I would like to see more Star Wars The Old Republic sets released. In particular, I would like to see a Corellian Defender-class Light Corvette, found here: http://starwars.wiki..._light_corvette If it came with a Jedi Knight in Jedi Battlelord's gear from the game, that would make my Lego year (see my avatar for a custom minifig wearing this armour, when it updates...).

I also managed to get 9497 before they were taken down. It got delivered yesterday, really nice set. -
Ordered the Republic Strike-Fighter last night. Just need to save some pennies to order the Fury Interceptor now.

Hi Folks, I wondered if one of the talented folks on the Eurobricks forum could possibly create a custom decal for me? It's a decal of this armour, from the Star Wars The Old Republic Game. For reference, the armour set is called Jedi Battlelord's Armour: This is a screenshot of my Jedi Guardian, Master Kurtt Krueger. I would ideally like two decals for this armour, one fully coloured, and one with the green areas left blank, to be used with waterslide transfer paper over an appropriately coloured torso. Not sure what sort of decal could be done with the legs, if any. Many thanks to whoever decides to have a go at this armour/decal. Cheers, Kurtt

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

Awesome commercial there. Shame they're treating the Fury like a regular star fighter though. It isn't, and you wouldn't get that many flying in formation like that. They're more of a light cruiser/freighter, like the Millenium Falcon or Ebon Hawk. So stoked for these SWTOR sets! Now I need Lego to produce a Jedi Defender! -
Bought 9491 and 9488 for my little boy over the weekend. He's loving them. I'm eagerly awaiting 9500 Sith Fury Class Interceptor, to keep my Gentle Giant Darth Malgus statue company in my glass cabinet!

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
KurttKrueger replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Really looking forward to some of these Star Wars sets this year. I'm an avid gamers, and currently play Star Wars The Old Republic daily, with two max level characters and a host of oher lower level characters. So, I just thought I'd provide a little background info on the Extended Universe sets, for those who are interested. Both sets 9497 and 9500 are based on the new MMO from Bioware, Star Wars The Old Republic, not Knights of the Old Republic (or KoToR) as some have mentioned in this thread. The events of SWTOR take place some 300 years after the events of the first KOTOR games. The characters in the Republic set (9497) are Satele Shan, Grand Master of the Jedi Council, T7-01, a player character companion from the game, and Commander Jace Malcolm, formally of Havoc Squad (known on the box art simply as Republic Trooper). Info on these characters can be found here: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Satele_Shan http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/T7-O1 http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Jace_Malcom For set 9500, the main, named minifig is Darth Malgus, member of the Dark Council of the time of the game. The ship itself is the player ship provided to Sith Warrior and Sith Inquisitor players. Info for Darth Malgus can be found here: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Darth_Malgus For a further taste of these characters, I would suggest watching this youtube video of all three cinematic trailers for Star Wars The Old Republic, played in timeline order. Each trailer features Satele Shan, Jace Malcolm and Darth Malgus heavily. Plus, they have the added bonus of been better than the prequel trilogy put together! ;) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1KM3E0emjg&feature=related Anyway, I hope the above was useful to those who like the look of the SWTOR sets, but lack the info to commit :D Cheers, Kurtt (P.S. I'm playing on the EU Frostclaw server, under the name Kurtt, for anyone who plays and would like to group up sometime :) ) -
I don't often frequent the Star Wars boards, I must admit. I'm a massive fan of Star Wars, and the Lego sets, but the majority are out of my price range, so I tend to not buy any. However, I was in Asda Motherwell in Scotland, UK a few weeks back, and managed to find 7962-1: Anakin Skywalker and Sebulba's Podracers for just £14.99 on sale! Thats a saving of £67!!! It's a great set, with Sebulba's pod being incredibly details. We love it! Edit: I should also add, I did buy the 10188 Death Star a couple of years back. That was a no-brainer :D

Not posted on EB for a while, but saw the pics of the Rebuplic Starfighter from SWTOR, and had to comment. Really looking forward to the SWTOR set, more than any OT or PT stuff tbh. Love that T7-01 is in there (being one of my Jedi Knight's companion characters), and Satele Shan looks good also. I'm wondering if the Republic Trooper is in fact Colonel Jace Malcolm (Colonel in current SWTOR timeline), featured in the 'Hope' cinematic trailer? Also looking forward to Darth Malgus! -
Greetings folks, I've recently started buying Ninjago for my son and myself. I held off buying it last year, as I wasn't too taken by the undead themes, and didn't want my then 4 year old son getting into such things. We're really enjoying playing it now however, as we both agree snake people are cool! We're now eyeing up even more of the spinners and sets. I picked up the Jay ZX booster earlier this week (pleased to see that most of this years Ninjago spinner figs and accessories are not Chinese plastic...) and wondered if they were planning on releasing a new style spinner for him later on this year? He seems to be the only new Ninja without a dedicated spinner. Can anyone share any news on this? We also got hold of the Kendo Jay booster (which IS Chinese plastic...), to get the lightning patterned crown, and are currently using Sensei Wu's spinner, but its the older style, with no peg holes on the bottom. Thanks in advance for your help! Cheers, Dan & Jude

New Lego 10223 Kingdoms Joust Exclusive
KurttKrueger replied to I Scream Clone's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Oh wow. Just... wow. That Black Falcon looks amazing! Such AFOL bait Lego! Will be picking this set up for sure. It will go nicely with the MMV. Now I just need a bigger glass cabinet! -
Oh wow, this looks excellent! Hopefully this will be made available in the UK.

Finally! I've been waiting for this! I have a quick question though. Due to other RL commitments, I won't be able to join in with Heroica until next week. Will this pose a problem?
-
Ooh, I'll look forward to it! What do you guys think of this torso for the Wizard?
-
Thanks for the positive feedback so far folks, much appreciated. I've replaced the Heroica weapons with regular minifig weapons. I much prefer the look of them. I'm going to be putting a Bricklink order in soon for some extra parts, so will update this thread once I've made progress. @Sandy: Thanks for the parts suggestions. I wanted to use the brown version of the skater hair, but don't have it currently. It's on the shopping list. I didn't know the red hat existed, so thanks for the update. And yes, that's the exact torso I had in mind for the Barbarian. It's on my Bricklink wanted list! Also, I'm really intrigued by the Heroica RPG in your sig! Whats it about? @Brinksandparts: Those are some really nice torso decals you've made there! I especially like the Goblin torso. Any chance you can produce some head decals for them? As I think sand green heads would look off with regular green torso's (or make the decals sand green?). @Quichybo: I love that minifig, it's one I've not got hold of yet. I'd be tempted to use the entire figure for a boss of sorts! @Gryphon Ink: The head comes from one of the Crown Knight minifigures. Can't remember which set, but pretty sure it's in King's Castle Siege 7094.

I've got a ton of Trolls, so I'll have to take some photos of a batch together. I've been using Trolls with no helmets as Strangth 1 Goblins, Trolls with helmets as Strength 2, and a troll with a bronze helm and armour as the goblin king. I've also replaced the Heroica weapons with regular minifig weapons, as the scale looks better.
-
Greetings folks, While playing a game of Heroica with my wife and son last night, we discussed how cool it would be if we could make a minifig scale Heroica map, complete with heroes and monsters. So, after thinking about it for a bit, I built some minifig scale versions of the hero microfigs that come with the Heroica games. Here they are: Druid: Knight: Ranger: Thief: Wizard: I'm not too happy with the way the Wizard looks, I think he'd definitely benefit from a red or dark red hood, but no such piece exists. Torso could be better too. I'm happy with the rest, though the Knight is virtually a stock Kingdoms minifig. I haven't been able to build the Barbarian due to a lack of sufficient parts. I may put a Bricklink order in though! Let me know what you think. Cheers, Dan

I've been thinking further about gaining additional gold throughout the course of a mission. Each review I've read for Heroica so far (and these are from boardgame websites, not Eurobricks) comments on the fact that by the time you've got enough gold to buy a weapon, the game is almost over. So, how about the following rule (inspired by davee123): On defeating an enemy monster, roll the Heroica die. If the result is a Shield or Sword, loot one gold from the corpse. On a result of a Skull/Shield or Skull, you find nothing on the corpse. Theives and players equipped with Daggers still get to loot extra gold should they roll Shield during combat, but also have a chance to loot gold from the corpse of the monster. This is what I was thinking during my previous crack at this rule, but didn't make it clear. Also, how does this sound to increase the challenge level of single missions? Not sure how it would work for a campaign or Epic Heroica due to the scoring mechanic: When a Strength 1 monster has been defeated, you may place the monster back on the map at a location of your choosing. I thought this might add a fun 'meatgrinder' element to the game, and add an interesting PvP dynamic to Heroica. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on the above. Cheers, Dan
