Maybe my duties carry me past the King's quarters? Maybe I've been tasked to root out the insidious traitors in the castle? Maybe I aided and abetted the murderer. Who knows?

The Troll Warship set is one of my must haves at the moment. Trying to pursuade my wife to let me part with 50 quid is the hard part though :D I especially love the armoured good dragon that comes with it, and its one of the major reasons why I love the set. I'm also after the Skeleton Ship set, as I'm planning on incorporating the Crown Knight harbour into the rear of the King's Castle. Those back gates strike me as waaaay to unprotected :D Now I've just got to get my hands on loads of Dark Green and Navy Blue plates!

Sorry about the picture size chaps, will resize them today and repost :) Right, resize piccies are up. Let me know if thats any better. As for the quivers, back in the old days, virtually every forestman had a quiver (except the dude with the basket on his back that came with Camoflaged Outpost), so I've continued it as sort of a theme. Also, I reason that all the forestmen would be pretty handy with a bow. I might do a brickforge order and get some of the string-less bows and sling them over their shoulders somehow. Ooh, and gauntlets... :D

I just wanted to put a few images up of some updated Forestmen minifigs I've been working on. I'm very keen to intergrate the old Forestmen sets and minifigs into the style of the new Fantasy Era Castle line. Below are a few pics of what I've come up with so far. It's mainly head and item changes to make them look a little more geared up. I'm open to colour swaps to, but lack the parts to experiment. I'm thinking maybe the addition of brown arms/legs as opposed to the normal green. Here they are: Edit by Hinckley: Kurt, Sorry man, your pictures are exceedingly huge. They are over 2000 pixels. You need to please resize them to 800 or less. Here is a tutorial. Please PM me with any questions. Thanks. These piccies should be easier to see :) Kurtt, the Leader of the merry band: Jonas, second in command of the group, and Kurtt's right hand man: Luther, archer extraordinare: Willhelm, swordsman supreme: Well, there we go. I'd love to do a group shot, but I'm using the same parts over again (mostly the quiver, bow and pouch) to create the different minifigs. Once I've decided on the look, I'll order the stuff I need. Please let me know what you all think :)

Is the new Castle line making old ones obsolete?
KurttKrueger replied to concreteasflesh's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I grew up with the Black Falcons, Lion Knights, Forestmen, Black Knights, Royal Knights and Dragon Knights. I love every single one of these factions, as I had hours of fun massing armies of them and staging mass battles. Then came the dark times, Fright Knights, Knight's Kingdom and Ninjas (imo). During this dark period in Castle history, I was passing my driving test, and discovering girls and beer :D Imagine my suprise and delight when I discovered last years Castle line! Finally, castle sets that echo the awesome sets of the 80's and 90's. I honestly feel that the King's Castle Siege 7094 is one of the best Castles that Lego have produced in a long while, and I even make that comparison against Black Falcon's Fortress. For me, the new Crown Knights, Skellies and Trolls capture the true spirit of what Castle was all about. Only this time, we have clearly marked factions, and theres no doubting who's good and who's evil. As for compatability and older sets being obsolete, I don't really think its possible for this theme. My Forestmen sets sit proudly next to my Fantasy Era stuff, and I'm in the process of 'updating' my Forestmen sets (blacks for browns, a few minifig changes etc) so they all mesh together well. I have very high hopes for the rest of this line, and look foward to getting my hands on as much of it as possible! -
Maybe this was all staged to 'look' like a poisoning? Will their be an autopsy carried out on the King? Can we trust the Doc to do it, if he's a potential suspect? Is there any evidence of physical tomfoolery I ask?

Hmmm, I'm sure I saw movement in the corridors around the King's Quarters, but it wasn't the right time for the King's supper. Who could it have been?

Wow, I really like this MoC. I liked it before, but the Dwarf version really captures the industriousness of the race. I especially like how you've captured the passage of time between the two scenes. Very realistic.

I'm still relatively new here, and have never took part in one of these games before, but I'm in front of my PC most the day, so I'll join in -
10187 Volkswagen building instructions now available

I have to say, this is an incredibly accurate set. I own a Beetle myself, and the internal detail is spot on. I'm hoping to pick this set up when I go to LL Windsor at the end of the month. -
Greetings Lego Fans! I just wanted to pop a post up with regards to my first ever trip to LL Windsor next weekend. I'm really after a sort of first time visitor guide to the place. What I'm really interested in is the Lego Shop with its Pick a Brick section. I'm planning on making some changes to an existing set (most of theblack elements to Forestman's Hideout), so is the range there extensive enough to get all the parts I need, or is it limited to basic bricks? I really wanted to wait until I'd seen LL before trauling through Brinklink. Any other tips you could give that would enhance my experience would be appreciated :) Cheers, Kurtt P.s. Hope this post is in the right section, am still a noob here :D

Hey there folks, Just thought I'd pop a quick post up to say hello to all you AFOL's and TFOL's out there. Discovered Eurobricks earlier today, and signed up immediatley! I've been looking for an extensive Lego forum for a while now, and yours is the best I've seen so far. I've been a Lego fan for well over 20 years now, and have always loved it, despite getting married and having a child myself now. I've always kept in touch with whats been going on in the world of Lego as best I can, buying the odd set that takes my fancy here and there (been mostly Star Wars stuff up until now). More recently I've been sucked back into the world of Lego and AFOL's in a big way. I'm loving the new Indy sets, picking up 3 of them so far, and I went and bought the biggest Lego set I've ever owned just the other month. The Crown Knight's Castle from the Fantasy Era Castle range. I have to say, I adore the new Castle Lego. Castle was always my favourite theme by far, and to see Lego return to the set quality of old was a joy to behold. So, at the moment, I'm slowly bulding up decent sized Crown Knight and Troll Armies (gotta love that Battlewheel and Seigetower!), as well as taking my first tentative steps into the world of MoC's. Nothing major, just slightly adding to the Castle using parts from others sets (I've combined the Tower Raid set with the main Castle). I'm also planning on redoing one of my all time favourite Lego sets, the Forestmen's Hideout, in newer colours (browns over blacks and so on). I picked one up off ebay a few years back (could never afford it as a kid :D), so have dug it out and its now sitting on my desk waiting for me to dismantle it and work out which parts I need. Also, I'm heading to LL Windsor with the family at the end of June, so I'm very excited about that, as LL has always been the one place I've always wanted to go (wouldn't have thought I was 27 eh? :D). Can't wait to see that Lego Shop. Well, thats enough ranting and raving from me. I look forward to many long hours of thread reading and posting :) Cheers, Dan (aka KurttKrueger)

Hey there folks, first post here. Really stoked about the possible inclusion of Elves in the Castle line up. Always loved Castle, but the Fantasy Era stuff is awesome. One thing I noticed though, the new Advent Calendar states that there are nine minifigs included, but only eight shown on the box. Could one be a new Elf do you think? Considering the proximity of the release to 2009? Or it could just be the skeletal snowman :)
