  1. "Oh, you poor... creepy... huge... bug-thingy... I will attempt to heal the wounded ant. Alexis, could you try to communicate with it to learn what hurt it?"
  2. "Thanks for the potion, Tess! I think you should keep the Phoenix Essence, since you gave yours to me. And Alexis can keep the gem on my behalf. I believe she has plans to advance into the realm of magical combat once she hits the appropriate level."
  3. "Huh? What's so special about it? I can buy it off of you for the same price as I'd buy any weapon: half of its resale value. The bow can be sold for 40 gold, so I'll give 20 gold to you for it." OoC: Seriously, the procedure of selling items is already explained in the first post, under the title of "How to sell".
  4. Anwyl Smokebeard stops the overly eager ranger. "Hold it! I cannot mythrilize your weapon without a piece of mythril. Did you really think you could add 10 power to your weapon for just 100 gold?"
  5. Ellaria claps her hands together in joy. "Finally, some treasures! I wouldn't mind having a potion, since I'm all out myself..."
  6. In my opinion the effects of a weapon should not affect the hero's Shield-skill. So Sarick should've gotten a Magic Burst against all enemies even though he targetted Dak for healing. The same applies to Clerics and their Miracle - even if they attempt to attack an enemy, they will still heal all allies if they roll a Shield. It may not be what they intended to do, but that's what the almighty die gave them. And like others pointed out, a mage's spells are not affected by a weapon's special effect, only by their power. I have to say I don't really like when items tamper the heroes' battle skills, since it'll be really hard for a QM to remember that this specific Barbarian has Aim instead of a Miss. On the other hand, there's soon going to be 15 more classes with individual battle styles to remember, so in the future the QMs should always keep the rules at hand anyway when tallying battle results. But yeah, please avoid changing the battle skills in the future, for the sake of us poor hosts.
  7. ~The Quest Board and the Gallery of Heroes have been updated on the first post.~ Raising her eyes from the floor she was sweeping, Scheherazade watched as more and more heroes returned from their quests. The orc matron couldn't help but to grin and shake her head in disbelief "By Mother Danab's teats, I don't remember Heroica ever having this many champions", she said to nobody in particular. "The Veterans must be damn satisfied of this situation... I know Old Johnny Thunder would certainly be, bless his gnawed bones." As grumpy and sour as the old barkeep had been, he had once been a hero of Heroica himself, back in the days when the quest opportunities were few and far in-between. The place had certainly changed a lot from those days, but Scheherazade did not quite get why that was. Maybe the world was just going crazy... Sending a thought to her vagrant son, wherever he might be, Scheherazade returned to her work.
  8. Before anyone thinks to ask, I'm not going to include a rule where you gain levels by having sex with the other heroes. Although that could be called a kind of training, too...
  9. "I already volunteered to take the ladle. As for the direction, let me check..." Ellaria uses her Magic Compass, concentrating on finding the orc camp. It might not work this time either...
  10. Ellaria blushes even more when she hears the gnome girls "challenge". "Umm, you can do it if you really want, but before you go, could you please heal those of us who need it. I'd imagine you'll be too exhausted afterwards..."
  11. Ellaria goes red as Tesni gives her the Phoenix Essence to replace the one she used on the barbarian. "Oh, you really don't have to... Well, if you insist." "That Goblin Gumbo is really worth the horrible taste, I'd suggest you give those to two different party members - I can gladly take one, in any case. I reckon Haldor would benefit from the cloak the most, while the staff is pretty much useless to all of us since we're not mages."
  12. No, those can only be fixed by a Remedy and some of the skills belonging to advanced classes. Speaking of which, here are the pictures of the last three advanced classes: I just had to get these out before Pandora hits level 15.
  13. In your example, the monster's elemental strength and weakness nullify each other, so an earth-elemental spell would do normal damage to a dragon with the fiery and flying types.
  14. "Here goes nothing!" Ellaria shouts as she picks two items from her pocket. She drinks her last potion herself, and tosses the Phoenix Essence on Tesni, reviving her to full health. She doesn't even care that those were her only remaining restorative items, she just wants to beat the mage and save Haldor and the child. "We've still got a chance! Do not give up, guys!"
  15. "Phew, this is hard... I think I will heal myself on my first turn, and if I fail in that, I will attempt to heal myself on the second turn as well. But if my first healing is successful, I will attack the mage from the front row instead." OoC: Hope you don't mind conditional actions like this, Jeb.
  16. Yeah, that would be most logical. Oh yeah, sure.
  17. Ellaria grimaces as the poison spreads throughout her body, but prepares to attack the mage twice with her staff from the front row. OoC: Are you sure you made this battle beatable, Jeb? I fear what will happen if the mage gets covered by Olegaia's Embrace, since we don't even have a mage in our party...
  18. Sorry, I meant the second task of building an army. But yeah, I hope I'll get something done for the Watch Tower task...
  19. So the first task is over already? Alright, sorry I was unable to build something for it, I've just been very busy this week... But could we perhaps get a bit more time for the second task than mere five days?
  20. My quest that specifically asks for clerics and mages has no sign-ups from those two classes for it.
  21. Thanks for the questions! 1. I think I've answered this before, but bones distract an enemy for one turn. For example, if Player A throws a bone at the monster, then Player B attacks it, the monster cannot cause damage to the player. Or if nobody else targets the monster, it will not use a Free Hit. The item is admittedly not very useful, but there might be situations where it can be used cleverly. If for example Player A with the bone cannot damage the monster because of a wrong element in their weapon, and other party members are preoccupied with other enemies, they can prevent a Free Hit from the monster by throwing the bone. 2. If the player who uses a throwing weapon does not score a hit, the weapon will not have left their hand and thus it doesn't have to be retrieved. 3. Yes, the effects can be stacked, of course. 4. No, the "better rolls" are not subjective, just to keep things simple. Rolling a Shield is always considered better than a Critical Hit, which is better than a Hit, which comes before a Miss, which surpasses a Damage, and a Special Damage is only used if both of the rolls result in it.
  22. Sounds great! Just remind me to put this up on the 26th.
  23. "Whoa, this is going to be extra tough! I think our first priority is to release Haldor, but the enemies need to be attacked as well. I'm sad to say that my weapon does not work on rock, so I'll only be able to attack the mage." Ellaria will heal herself on the first turn, and attack the mage from the front row on her second turn.
  24. ~The Quest Board has been updated with a new quest (#16 by Etzel)!~
  25. "Insults, trickery, blackmail... I've just about had it with this orcish lot! Tesni, let's just beat the dust off of this old codger!" Ellaria drank the second ladle of goblin gumbo and grabbed her smoldering staff in preparation for battle.
