  1. That would totally negate the point of weapon types, so I don't approve that action. Weapons cannot magically change types, even if your job class can use both. Darth Nihilus, please edit your post in the Marketplace accordingly.
  2. Ellaria shrugged her shoulders. "I signed into a quest pitched by the Town Watch, maybe the officers know something. The few watchmen I managed to get ahold of did not seem to care. Old Spriggan promised to ask around, too." She then looked at her friend deep in the eyes. "Lexie, I know she's alive. I just feel it in my heart. I know she's tiny and fragile, but she lives. I cannot give up on her."
  3. You mean Lilbelly. Oh, right. Got it now.
  4. Well, why would've she remained as "acting" with no one other to take her place? Let's just say she got a permanent promotion. Fix'd.
  5. Actually, I don't. I only ask specific details from people who are hosting for their first time. Experienced QMs usually just send me the quest pitch and then any game mechanic, battle or item they want to consult with me. If I know "too much" about a quest, I won't sign into it. They get both. And one of the Glory Point prizes is a free Level Up, so this unlimited quest should solve your levelling up woes. Sorry, all heroes must be humanoid. No animals accepted. Besides, you already changed your character just a few months ago. Shouldn't you concentrate on building him up first, to at least see where he can go? Or do you really enjoy starting from a scratch that much? Of course that's possible. The unlimited quest is designed to be really flexible, and if I get a co-host to it, there can be two parties on the Fields at the same time. But before anyone applies for that job, please wait until the quest topic is posted so you can see what it is really about.
  6. Just as she had feared, from among the crowd of unfamiliar faces had emerged her friends. Alexis, Althior, and her fellow cleric Haldor. They immediately noticed that something was wrong, and Ellaria opened her mouth to answer their worried questions, but no words came out. Instead, she felt tears pushing out again, but determinedly she wiped them off. "Elpis was taken from her crib, a few days ago. I need to find her. Please... can you help me?" Uttering those words took all her strength, and she slouched to the nearest chair, as her friends rushed by her side.
  7. ~Four new quests have been posted on the Quest Board (#42 by Flare, and #43, #44 and the Unlimited Quest by Sandy)!~ She was gone. Ellaria still could not believe she was gone. Ellaria had left Elpis on her crib for the afternoon nap while she had gone downstairs to help the pharmacist, and when she had returned, the crib was empty and the only window in the room was open wide. There was no trace of who or what had taken the infant, and none of the neighbours had seen anything either. How Ellaria had cried, for days on end... But the tears had ceased and despair had subsided, and now all that remained was cold determination. She would find her baby again. Even if she would have to search the city brick by brick or travel to the other side of the world, she would find her. Elpis was not dead, she could not be. Ellaria would know if she was, Sylvania would have told her. She refused to let doubt creep into her mind. Her goddess had not abandoned her. The words she had heard inside her head were not hallucinations. With her eyes still a bit swollen and her cheeks sunken from the lack of nutrition, Ellaria stepped into Heroica Hall once more. It pained her to think that the last time she was here, she had carried Elpis in her little basket and introduced the baby to the other champions. Now all she saw were unfamiliar faces that gave her suspicious looks. Ignoring them she walked to the Quest Board. There were many quests to choose from, but only one of them held any interest to her: a quest pitched by the Town Watch. This gave her a perfect opportunity to meet the captain of the watchmen in person and ask about any babies that might've been found lately. Ellaria signed her name into Quest #40: The Strivvian Job, and let out a deep sigh. This was what Sylvania wanted of her, to go into these "adventures" and get experience, so that one day she could fulfill whatever destiny the goddess had in store for her. But how could she concentrate on anything else while her little Elpis was out there somewhere?
  8. I'm sorry, I don't understand what you mean... Just make a post where your character signs into the quest by writing the names of the desired quests in bold. If you are still unsure, just see how others have done it. It's always good to read old quests and other topics so that you better understand the game. Links to all related topics can be found in the Heroica RPG Index.
  9. Hi, and welcome to the game! Endgame and Palathadric have answered your questions correctly. You just need to pick yourself a weapon in order to get chosen into quests. Also, is your character really a 99-year old human? He certainly doesn't look like one... An elf of that age would be more plausible.
  10. Since the hero last attacked from the back row, the Free Hit will be taken from that row. The hero has not had a chance to move in between.
  11. Thanks! And as a potentially interesting tidbit, I can tell you that the two prophets are followers of Danab and Centurus, respectively.
  12. That sounds like a sensical solution to me, too. In other news, get prepared for a whole bunch of new quests appearing on the Quest Board at Heroica Hall today, in continuation to our anniversary celebrations. After that, in a few days the Training Room will be updated with the finalized Expert and Master job classes. Here's a few new pictures to whet your appetite:
  13. A hearty welcome to the game, Raven Brickroft! And nice to see you're still sporting your Paradisa Mafia avatar. Hmm, do we have an earlier ruling about this? I don't think so, but looking back on old quests it seems that I personally have kept effects on people who have been knocked out... However, the simplest solution would be that once the player is knocked out, all other effects vanish (unless they're permanent). Does the jury agree with this? Great idea for the Mystic Knight, and certainly one to consider. Sorry I didn't catch these weaknesses before... However, I've been pondering on the option of changing the "random element" ruling of the SHIELD-skills of Mages, Battle Mages, Sages and Mystic Knights so that IF they have chosen to use an elemental spell in the turn that they roll a SHIELD, the chosen element is used. If they have chosen to use another action, the element would be random. Would this fix the inherent problem with all these skills, without having to change them any further? What say you?
  14. Haha, I doubt the Wolfgang would bother bargaining for things they can just as well steal. Besides, the heirlooms were stolen to piss off the families, the gang did not really need them. That's why they gave up the Zirconia so easily.

  16. If you're talking about the Ji Pei heirloom, Qilin Blade, it's not an artefact but a weapon. It will return in another quest, so I'd rather not spoil it's special effect.
  17. But using a scroll is not a battle skill, it is an item. Let me make a ruling here: using a scroll on an enemy does not count as targetting it, thus the enemy will get a Free Hit unless someone actually attacks it. I'll add it to the FAQ. Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I did not realize there was such a problem before this.
  18. A passionate gleam flares in the elf's hazel eyes. This was businessmaking at it's best for Fabian! "Ahem, you must not be aware of my business methods, milord. I sell the items I buy at twice the price I spent on it. I can buy the thorny diadem for the 80 gold you offered, but there is no way anyone would buy the uniform from me for 300 gold, so you've got no deal with it." Fabian hands Lord Boomingham 80 gold and takes the diadem.
  19. I'll look into it. I don't want the skill to be just Frenzy and Magic Burst added together (because that would be too powerful), but there's plenty of other options. What about healing, then? It just fails, the healer does not take damage from it. Or the use of other items? Or just sitting out a round? This is exactly why I implemented Free Hits in the first place - so that nobody can just sit around and wait while poison does its dirty work on the enemy (with one notable exception in the Rogues vs. Count Shadeaux battle ).
  20. Is that a request for changing the Shield-skill of the Battle Mage? Looking back on the skill, it does seem quite a bit weaker than most other shield-skills...
  21. Fabian lets out a phony laugh. "Ahahaha, you must've been born a jester, milord! You are trying to sell these items to me at the price I could perhaps manage to sell them forward. Where is my profit? I will offer 60 gold for you on the diadem, and 75 gold for the uniform. Do we call that a deal, sire?"
  22. We are officially beyond the point in the Lottery where unfortunately not everyone will win a prize. And it's only been up for some hours... The Expert Classes can use any artefacts that do not specify its suitability. So a Chi Monk can use Spellbound Gloves, but a Necromancer cannot use the Robe of the Archmagi. Who knows, maybe there will be a "Robe of the Necromancer" in the distant future?
  23. The first scenario doubles the power of the gloves twice, so the second scenario is correct.
  24. Well, handcannon-users have an entire Expert Job Class dedicated to them, so I wouldn't call the situation exactly unfair. You made me question the logic behind arrows empowering all weapons, don't go back on that now!
  25. Umm, is there are difference between these two scenarios? Sorry, my math sucks... The artefact simply adds 5 damage to your spells, and 10 damage to spells with an elemental strength in play.
