  1. Yes, they add WP to a weapon. Good suggestion, I hadn't thought about it. I'll edit them so that they are only usable with bows and crossbows. Thanks! Apparently I've got too many pots on the stove, as the saying in my country goes.
  2. "15 gold it is, then. See you again soon, sweetcheeks!" OoC: I changed the Spiked Collar from headwear to an accessory, since who in their right mind would wear a collar on their head?
  3. That's right. But remember that once the gem is removed, the elemental protection is gone from the artefact. Good catch, thanks! I switched them to their right places.
  4. Fabian winked at the shaman. "Pleasure doing business with such a... well-built gentleman as yourself. But what's this? A collEr, you say? Looks more like a collAr to me. It is really of little value, I'll give you 15 gold for it."
  5. The pink-clad elf inspected the cloak. "Hmm, this is obviously inferior to the Ethereal Cloaks I sell here. I could perhaps sell it forward with the price you offer from it, but that would leave me with nothing. I can buy this rag off your hands for 75 gold. Do we have a deal, hunkydory?" The merchant waits for Haldor's response.
  6. The artefacts currently listed have an unlimited stock. The resold artefacts are unique, and they will be marked with "1 in stock".
  7. "Aaaah!" An elf with golden hair took a long wiff at the fresh morning air as he opened the doors to his brand new shop. The elf, named Fabian, had learned that in Eubric you could do what you wanted and be who you wanted to be without anyone telling you otherwise. This was truly a city of the free, he could smell it. This was the place where his talents would be put to best use. This was the place where he would find the most faithful clientele. This was the place where his dreams would come true! "Welcome, everyone!" Fabian's shout echoed throughout the Marketplace. "Fabian's Fantabulous Fashion is now open!" On the other side of the square, Gnomeo walked to Portia's potion stall, and pointed at the flamboyant elf with his thumb. "He won't last a week, mark my words! Nyeh nyeh..." ~An artefact shop is now open at the Marketplace!~
  8. HAPPY FIRST ANNIVERSARY TO ALL PLAYERS! Let the celebrations begin! The promised Lottery is already up, and a new shop will open at the Marketplace in a moment. The new quests will go up after that. There will be a frontpaged announcement of our festivities, so hopefully we get to see many fresh faces in the coming days. Have fun, everyone! Sorry, you know the rules: once a character is erased, everything he or she carries goes with him.
  9. Heroica Hall is bustling with life as word of a special event spreads among the heroes. All those not on a quest gather to the stone floor of the great hall. Then a group of imposing figures appear to the balcony above the crowd. A man in a black cape and an adorned helmet addresses them. “I, Dragonlord of the Veterans, summon all of you heroes of Heroica, both those here with me in the Hall at this moment and those questing far away in distant lands, for it is time to celebrate! Many of you might not know this, but a year ago, our organization faced a great tragedy. We lost the majority of our champions in an unfortunate chain of events, and the Six Houses of Eubric were ready to deem us a lost case and cut our funding completely. But we recovered, slowly but steadily, and now we prosper, with our ranks larger than ever in the 250 year history of Heroica. It is all thanks to you and your endeavours in spreading heroism into every corner of Olegaia. Your quests have taken you far and wide, from the High Kingdoms all the way to Salmanda, although you have done most good here in Eubric Freeport, the city that is now your home. The Six Houses look favourably at us again, and even the wily Wolfgang has begun to respect our authority. Many of you are currently involved in the internal struggles of Dastan, the land of my ancestors, and I believe this will not be the last time the empire will turn to our organization. Perhaps one day we will build another Hall in Drakencourt, as well. So it is with deepest delight and greatest gratitude that we Veterans offer these festivities to you, brave champions. To celebrate properly, we have decided to organize a lottery for all willing participants. The prizes vary from useful items to gems to scrolls and we’ve even added a unique artefact. Miss Valentine Ziegfried has kindly offered to handle all communication with the champions who are currently on quests. So worry not, you will get your prize z-mailed to you anywhere in the world. Just send us a slip of paper with your name on it to act as a ticket, and we’ll get the lottery started!” RULES: - All players of Heroica RPG may participate into the raffle, no matter if they are currently on a quest or not. New players are welcome to participate as well. - Confirm your character's participation by posting in-character to this topic before the 8th of August, 2012. The post can be about how your character finds out about the lottery and sends their slip of paper, for example. - The lottery will take place one week from now, on the 8th of August. The 20 main prizes listed below will be dealt to the lucky winners. One player can only win one prize. - If you win an item from the raffle, you can add it to your character's inventory immediately (thanks to the magical "Z-Mail"). - If you have any questions about the lottery, please ask them at the Rules & Discussion -topic, not here. 10. The 1st anniversary festivities will begin on the first of August - not all at once though. There's many things taking place for the celebration, so it would be too much to pour them all on you in one go. But you'll see what I'm talking about very soon.
  11. As a Quest Master, it's your job to keep things moving. If people don't post battle actions, you decide for them. If they continuously neglect to post in the quest, you throw them out and possibly replace them with more motivated players. Cancellation is only an option if the QM himself is unable to continue with the quest, and it affects very negatively to the person's chances of ever hosting another quest again. I for one think it would be a shame if the story of the Maa'ri would be left untold, and you've done such excellent job with hosting that I'd hate to see you quit...
  12. As long as it doesn't find its way to the hands of the heroes. I don't want to be too restrictive when it comes to technology in this game world - everyone knows the liberties I've taken with it for example in Quest #15 - but there's a story-related reason for it. At this point in the game, advanced technology is in the hands of only few people in the world, but that might change depending on how the main storyline goes. And that, my dear players, is eventually up to you.
  13. Quit the game or quit the quest? Because you really shouldn't do either - you can always take breaks from the game in between quests, and to my understanding this is the last battle of the Dastan quests, so you're better off enduring it and reaping the rewards that come after, rather than let it all go. I understand your confusion and dismay, I could never pull off a battle like that without going totally insane in calculating the battle results, but there's three great minds behind the battle concept, and I trust they will make it work. You players have it much easier - just post your actions and see what ensues. So hang in there, everyone. I have high trust that the conclusion of the trilogy of quests will be absolutely epic and worth all the effort.
  14. *gasp* I've got to get myself some of those! Again, pistols of any kind are not suitable for the setting of this game. Crossbows, on the other hand, are an existing weapon class in this game, so bowguns are an option.
  15. No, I'm afraid pistols are not viable to the setting of this game. And why do you want to get rid of Mizuki so early? There's already a serious lack of female characters in the game, it would be a shame to see one switched for another male... It's up to you, of course, but no gunslingers, please.
  16. ~Another new quest has been posted on the Quest Board (#41 by Zepher)! Please note the very short timeslot for sign-ups!~
  17. Congratulations, Cornelius Murdock! Maybe Cronk will bring a little baby orc into the Heroica Hall with him when he returns from the quest? Then he and Ellaria could exchange caretaking advises. SORRY SORRY SORRY! My scattered brain has deceived me once again. The upcoming quest is a Shadeaux vs. Hinckwell quest, the Ziegfried's have nothing to do with it. I just somehow typed in the wrong name originally, and didn't realize it until I re-read what I wrote. So yeah, some rivalling merchant family action coming right at you! Thank you for the kind offer. Usually the Quest Masters take their own pictures, but it's good to know there's someone who could help out those with less extensive LEGO collections. The simplest solution is that the encouraged-effect affects healing the same way it affects attacks and spells. There's no need to make an exception with it. The wording of the effect might suggest otherwise, but since the power of healing is equal to the attack power, I'd go with this solution.
  18. Yes, the two families have suddenly decided to put all past grudges behind and work together in order to make Eubric a better place for everyone to live in. ...Yeah right. Of course it's a "versus" quest, and it delves quite deeply into the rivalry between the two families. So anyone up for that are welcome to sign up.
  19. Great to have you on board, Siercon! You're welcome to join the fun - just in time for the festivities.
  20. ~A new quest has been posted on the Quest Board (#40 by Scubacarrot)!~
  21. Since it's been a while, and some of you might have missed the original announcement, here's a reminder of the First Anniversary festivities I've planned for August. Isn't that enough to celebrate the first year of this game, eh? I'm thoroughly pleased that so many of the players who joined last August are still playing. That alone tells me I've done something right.
  22. Welcome to the game! I'll add your character to the first post of the Hall. New quests appear into the Hall-topic from time to time. I myself will start a few quests next month, and there are several in the planning stage from other players as well.
  23. My favorite, I would have to say, is the Shakespearean Actor. I used to do theater in my youth, so the minifig is both aesthetically and emotionally appealing to me. It's also perfect for Heroica RPG, so that seals the deal. My other favorites are the Alien Queen (I've collected all the Alien Conquest aliens, so she completes the family), the Bavarian Man, the Cowgirl and the Conquistador. I love that there's a fairy minifig now, but she could've turned out much better, in my opinion... But she's still usable in my fantasy settings, in any case. I still think the best series for me was 6, with the Genie, the Leprechaun, the Minotaur and Lady Liberty, but I've collected them all anyway, and I will continue collecting them all for as long as they release this line. I don't think the line ever has to stop, but the frequency is quite high at the moment. Maybe just one or two series per year would be more affordable, and keep the fans more excited. I'm sure we'll see more rehashes in the future, because while there might be unlimited amount of ideas for figs, they still have to be kid-friendly and desirable for the buyers. But I've been a lover of the CMF since the beginning, and will continue to splurge my money just to catch 'em all in the future.
  24. Adam, I wholeheartedly welcome you to join the game! New players seem to come in waves, so perhaps your joining will lure a few lurkers in as well. And Flipz, good to have you back. What would've we done without your in-depth analyses? It won't take even nearly that long, not with the new unlimited quest introduced next month. You'll all be in for a HUGE surprise with that one!
