Heroica RPG- Quest #68: A Night at the Theatre
Sandy replied to Zepher's topic in The Heroica Archive
OoC: Thanks! But I haven't even nurture anyone in this battle... Seeing both Atramor and Russel go down, Ellaria feels her heart skip a beat. "Sylvania, I need you now..." she mutters as she takes a swing at the Bolsterous Rat C with her fiery staff from the front row. Now would be the perfect time for the Roots of Life to show up... -

OoC: Excuse me, but I used an Elixir, which should have removed all effects from me as well. You did not say that Afflicted cannot be removed, so I call foul. This game works by a certain set of rules, so if you're going to change them, you have to inform us players. -
Review of Jeff Boen's "THE BRICKGUN BOOK" (No Starch Press
Sandy replied to DLuders's topic in Special LEGO Themes
What kind of logic is that? Only positive comments are allowed on any given subject? What's the point of having a discussion forum if everyone just agrees with each other all the time? Heck yeah I'm going to comment if I have a problem with a product. Someone's making money by turning my favorite hobby into realistic projectile weapons that can even be used to cause pain. I'm in my full rights to say that nauseates me. Someone may argue that these models are no different from the LEGO cannons that can be shot, but like Jargo said, it's not the fact that some of these models actually "work", it's the fact that they glorify handguns. We all know what guns have done to humankind, and that's what makes me nauscious. You are free to disagree, but that's how I feel about this book. I would never recommend it to a single person.- 19 replies

I have to say I wholeheartedly agree with you. People can build all the guns they want out of whatever they want (if it's not in the purpose of hurting others), but I personally can't help but to feel a little nauseated about this guide.- 19 replies

Heroica RPG- Quest #68: A Night at the Theatre

OoC: Yes, revival is Necromancer's ability. Didn't you read the class description? "Atramor, please save your Grand Tonic and attack instead. I have to use one of my Elixirs now." Ellaria gulps down an Elixir, hoping that the affliction will be removed with it as well. -
That's actually my intention. Here are the photo requests from page six: Wedge09 Palathadric Darth Nihilus JimButcher Dannylonglegs LordoftheNoobs Pandora (Sorry, I couldn't get this photo to come up right, since both of your characters are wearing capes and headpieces that don't allow the heads to be turned much.) If Ellaria is revived, she will use the Scroll of Inspiration at Atramor. -
Well, you've got five days time to end it, before I will have to bow out. I can of course give the control of Ellaria to someone else for whatever's left of the quest if it continues past Wednesday...

Ellaria shakes her head in frustration, and looks at Atramor. "We have no other choice but to follow the accursed script. Atters, I think this is your cue. I'm a little uncertain as to what we're supposed to do, but it seems that the Duchess - that is, Althior, poisoned the Duke, myself. Now you must cast her... err, Althior... out and take your position as the king. Or am I totally mistaken?" -
Are you talking about January 2014?! That's some majorly careful editing...

Two reasons: 1) I didn't know there was such an option. 2) Ellaria didn't know there was such an option. So that's why.

"No, we have to end this, Duchess Florence, right here and now. Let go of your grudge. Release the innocent actors and move on. That's all we will allow you to do. Otherwise we fight." She turns to her comrades. "You realize that we can't go on like this anymore. For all we know, we are just making the curse repeat itself all over again by playing the parts of the play." Ellaria's mind goes back to the road to Bric'lin and the three figures they met along the way. Where they ghosts of the past as well? Or some higher beings with a hidden agenda? "Witches three!" she suddenly calls out. "Are you here somewhere? This needs to stop! We refuse to play the parts anymore!" -

OoC: Ellaria healed herself out of battle. You seem to have missed that, Zeph. Ellaria quickly uses the Grating Stone on the Sylvania's Crossbow. She then waits for what the possessed actress has to say. This is one peculiar curse... -
Thank you for the idea, but as others have said, it makes the game needlessly complicated. I don't think QMs need a wider array of drops, just focus more on basic consumables and gold.

"Any recollection about what happened to you guys?" Ellaria asked the two actors. "If not, please return upstairs. You'll find your colleagues waiting for you there. Me and my comrades will see this to the end." She then turns to Pigley, and uses Animal Talk to communicate with the pig. "Oink oink! Squeak! [i take it you will join our little party? Surely a brave little piggy like you wouldn't want to miss all the action.]" -

"I'd like the grating stone, please. My weapons are not very effective since I haven't had much luck with getting rich on this job... But now it's healing time!" Ellaria heals herself, and then heals the two possessed guards. "Can you get up now, guys?" she says to them. Then she got to thinking. "Hmmm, the skeletons referred to themselves as 'the originals'. I have a feeling that they weren't talking about the play... Guys, what if the events in the play happened for real, and William Stirlance wrote a play about it. The spirits did not seem very happy about that, so maybe that's why the play is cursed. What do you think?" -

Maybe I'll just ask Draggy to shut down this subforum for the duration of my absence...

Ellaria gives an anguished smile. "Don't be. At least you can revive me if things go from bad to worse..." -
~IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!!!~ I'll be leaving on a trip to San Fransisco on the 20th of June, and I will return on the 3rd of July. As usual, I won't be spending much time online during the trip (too much stuff to see and experience IRL), so try to cope without me for the couple of weeks, alright? I have a couple of quests coming up in July, to which I will open the sign-ups before I leave. Now, if someone else wants to pitch a quest before my trip, now would be the time to contact me about it. And of course we all have the Second Anniversary festivities to look forward to in August. They will include a building contest and a flashback to what happened in Heroica a little over two years ago, when the organization suddenly lost most of their heroes in a tragic series of events. More details will come as August approaches...

Ellaria is blown back as the Door Keeper's spell hits her. She had forgotten that Atramor wasn't there to cover for her anymore... Gasping in pain, she gets up and attempts to heal herself from the back row. -

"Don't worry, Atramor! We'll cover for you!" Ellaria shouts as she aims her crossbow at Guard C once again from the back row. -
Come on! We were only talking about our ideas about how the Low Kingdoms differed from High Kingdoms. It doesn't mean you can't have any ideas of your own. Nothing has been set to stone, so far. Since you were the first QM to venture there, you get dibs on building the scenery. I have at least one quest that I've planned into a Low Kingdom, but I don't have any special architectural type in my mind... Going with pseudo-medieval fantasy architecture is always the safest choice in this game, though.

He would take the damage for each ally, ie. normal damage multiplied by the amount of party members. That's where the weakness of the Aura-strategy lies.

OoC: Aura makes the user take damage and specials for all the other party members, so even area-of-effect skills are directed to the one with Aura. So, in this case only Atramor should be slowed. Sorry! Ellaria repeats again.
