1. What a fun MOC! The details are magnificent, even though the general feeling is perhaps a bit too bright and colorful to my liking. We have actually been watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer from the beginning this summer (courtesy of Netflix), since I last watched it as a kid and still remember what a great series it was. We're currently at the end of Season Three, so the magic shop hasn't come into the picture yet, but I don't think Faith was in the Scooby Gang at that point, anymore. You should've put Dawn and Tara in it, instead.
2. How about animated corpse, forsaken, ghast, ghoul, living dead, revenant or walking dead, for starters?
3. The everyday life of Heroica Hall is interrupted as a big, brown rooster flutters in from an open window. Scheherazade rushes to shoo it away with a broomstick. "Off with you! I don't need to wake up any earlier than usual!" "Cluck cluck! Cockadoodledoo!!! [i am here on an errand from Old Mac himself, so you better listen up. The Fields of Glory are undergoing a renovation - or as I'd rather call it, a reINnovation. That is why I have to inform they are temporarily closed from visitors. Please watch the Quest Board for information about the opening date. Thank you!]" Scheherazade, not understanding a word the rooster tries to say, clutches it by the neck and throws it out of the window it came from. "I won't tolerate noisy animals in my Saloon! I would've served it for dinner, but for all I know it could've carried the avian flu or something", she mutters to those near her. "You never know with farm animals that run wild."
4. QUESTS #101-150 (Pictures are links.) Quest Master: Kintobor Assignment: "Heroica, I come searching for your aid! My father went out to investigate matters deep in the Murkwood Forest and has not returned! Being next of kin, it comes down to me to safe guard the forest, but... he may still be out there. 5. What's the rush? The reason that rule is in effect is because you need to familiarize yourself with how this game works first hand before you can even dream of hosting a successful quest. Just reading about it won't do. Just take your time and be patient. If you really want to host a quest, you will most likely get your chance - you just need to get your driver's license first.
6. Ellaria listens to the doctor with her notebook at hand. She is too mesmerized about the history lecture to actually write anything down. "I'm sorry to interrupt", Ellaria says all of a sudden. "But why are you here, Mr. Heweyrt? Are you Doctor Daneeka's colleague, perhaps?"
7. Miderun got a lengthy explanation about the inner politics of the city, learning all about the six houses in power and the rise of the Wolfgang in such detail it all started to muddle up in the end. "...and that's how things roll in this city nowadays. Got that?"
8. Of course you have to sign-up again - it's a completely different character we're talking about then, and QMs might have preferance over certain job class etc. when forming a party for their quest. Besides, it's only one post, and you can do it in the same post you introduce your new character in. So there's shouldn't be any extra work in it.
9. "Eris is my niece. She, like myself, grew up here, so our names are not exactly traditional. My parents were slaves, but I have lived free for my entire life. It has taken centuries to abolish slavery of the orocund, but we are finally getting there." The matron offered Miderun a refill. "I am Scheherazade, the keeper of this Saloon. Want to hear the latest gossip?"
10. "Thanks, Nyx!" Ellaria says, beaming. "I wasn't sure what you'd think, being such a classy dresser yourself. But I do feel like mean business now, hehe!" "Good to hear, Hybros! I'll show you the ropes, for sure." She then looks at the imp's bandages. "Why the wrapping, though? You weren't hurt in your training, were you?"

12. The matron of the saloon sailed over to the new heroine with an incredulous look on her face. "Eris, is that you? How dare you show your face...? Oh, zol-sarkuun, ral! I thought you were someone else. So, what brings a fair orcish maiden to our fine establishment?"
13. I forgot to take the second characters into consideration with the rules (which were mostly a copy&paste from last year's rules, anyway), but I've now changed it so that one player character can win only one prize. The characters are played individually, anyway, so it is totally alright for a player with two characters to sign both to the lottery. I think it's awesome that you were the first one to sign up to this game three years ago when it was opened to the public, and now you're the first one with a second character joining the fray. What a coincidence!
14. It would. The item in the lottery is not new, though, it was first dropped by Nikolaus Steerpike in Quest#66.
15. OoC: Everything is a-okay! I will reiterate that I will be gone from the 30th of August to the 14th of September on a trip to Greece, with probably a spotty online connection. Now that everyone is aware, onto the quest... Ellaria straightens her neckerchief as she walks towards their designated meeting point. She had gone on quests with the others several times before, so she didn't think there would be any trouble ahead. A job quickly done, for a change.
16. Ellaria feels stoked after finding out she would be going on a quest with three of her friends. It was good to get something to spend time on, at last. "I wonder what Nyx thinks of my new garments", she wonders by herself as she sees her reflection on one of the Hall's windows. A jacket and pants were not what she usually wore, but she was feeling increasingly comfortable in them.
17. They would stack, of course, like poison does. It makes for powerful weapons, sure, but the effect cannot be transferred to other weapons (making temporary Venoms still useful). Permanent Venoms are (or at least should be) rare items, anyway.
18. Greetings, fellow players of Heroica RPG! Our game has run for three full years this August, and thanks to that belongs to all of you. These past three years have been an amazing experience for me as the creator and manager of this game; to see something that came from my own head thrive and evolve into an experience enjoyed by over a hundred people is beyond incredible. The best part is that there's no end in sight! Of course, Heroica RPG will end at some point, as all things do, but for now we don't have to worry about it. The community is still alive and kicking, the quests we have created and participated in number in well over a hundred now, and we are still experimenting with new things to make the game even better. Now, I have a few announcements to make: - The annual Anniversary Lottery has launched. You have until the 10th of August to sign up to win some amazing in-game prizes. - The following people have earned the right to bear the awe-inspiring Heroica Tag for their contributions to this game in the past year: emjajoas Flare joeshmoe554 Kintobor Pyrovisionary The Legonater Congratulations, and a heartfelt thank you for everything you've done - and will do - for this game! The same thanks go to everyone else who are already boasting the tag. - Recently, there was discussion about the second character that dedicated players could add into the game at some point. It was suggested that the method of gaining said character would be changed. I am happy to announce that now you can add a second character if your original character has participated in at least 15 quests (no matter if it's successful, failed or cancelled - and individual trips to the Fields of Glory are counted as well) or you have hosted at least 5 quests yourself. The character must start from Level 1 with a basic job class, but there are no other requirements for the second character anymore, they can be whatever you like them to be. That means some of you may create your second character today, if you wish! - A Heroica RPG Wiki has been recently launched to store information about the game in an easily navigatable form. Please check it out, register into the service and help us fill it up! That's everything for now. For the years to come! ~Sandy
19. Once again the enthusiastic hubbub spread among the heroes of Heroica. All those who could gathered to Heroica Hall and said a little prayer to their personal deity. Maybe this year they would be lucky enough to score big. "Heroes of Heroica, may I please have your attention? It is time for our annual Anniversary Lottery, where we Veterans will give away prizes sponsored by the good citizens of Eubric that you've helped throughout this year. As they say, third time is the charm, so everyone should write their name down on a ticket in order to participate in this prosperous game of chance! Times may seem desperate in this city, but Heroica will not falter. We will carry on our duty to serve and protect people in distress, wherever they might be and whatever they might look like. We are heroes for a reason, and we will not let evil minds sway us from our path of righteousness! May luck be with you for the lottery and for all the years to come!" RULES: - All players of Heroica RPG may participate into the raffle, no matter if they are currently on a quest or not. New players are welcome to participate as well. - Confirm your character's participation by posting in-character to this topic before the 10th of August, 2014. The post can be about how your character finds out about the lottery and sends their slip of paper, for example. - The lottery will take place on the 10th of August. The prizes listed below will be dealt to the lucky winners. One player character can only win one prize. - If you win an item from the raffle, you can add it to your character's inventory immediately (thanks to the magical "Z-Mail" system). - If you have any questions about the lottery, please ask them at the General Discussion -topic, not here. PRIZES: Health Core (Restores full health.) Ether Core (Restores full ether.) First Aid Kit (Completely restores health and removes all negative effects for the entire party once.) 20. I'm no good with maths, but I think you're calculating 10% out of max health wrong. Round One: 1000-100=900 Round Two: 900-90=810 Round Three: 810-81=729 Round Four: 729-73=656 Round Five: 656-66=590 Round Six: 590-59=531 Round Seven: 531-52=479 etc. Sounds a bit too complicated to my liking.
21. Well, perhaps the wording could be changed so that the hero is only enveloped by a crust of stone. Or the other party members just perform a slightly challenging jigsaw puzzle and put the victim back together. Or maybe we just ignore that and say it's magic?
22. Suggested changes to some effects: *Petrified* The target is turned into solid stone, becoming unable to take a turn until the effect is remedied or the battle is over. If hit, the petrified target shatters and is instantly knocked out. (When applied on enemies, the petrified target needs to be shattered before the battle could be won.) *Cursed* The target loses a tenth of it's maximum health each round until only 1 health remains, the effect is remedied or the battle ends. *Bleeding* The target loses 5 health each round until full health is restored, the effect is remedied or the battle ends. Consecutive applyings of the effect stacks the damage done. *Bound* Binds the target for the next round, preventing switching rows, fighting with melee weapons and fleeing. (When applied to enemies, it would prevent them from fleeing for one round.) How are you guys feeling these suggestions?
23. QM Note: I could roll for her, but her attacks would miss because she is using a melee weapon. She's not incapacitated per se, she just can't reach any of the enemies. "I cannot condone to this", Walbartan grunted as she tried to free herself from the vines. "This is unnecessary cruelty towards nature. We should just leave the forest be!" 24. No, I'm afraid not. I haven't got the time to build everyone's figs right now.
25. What do you mean by FTL?
