It looks too bulky to fit and I don't like sliding wheels, it has got to be rolling wheels :/ No car rims has got the right size. The train wheels above seems to fit around the rail in SR 3D Builder and a 3mm Rigid Hose will keep it in place while used with 1/4 pins. I have ordered some of them as well.
-
Ok, could you show me a Bricklink link to a wheel-like part that fits perfectly around such a rail? And if you happen to find one, then I don't think it would work that great anyhow because that it's hard plastic against hard plastic. There's either too little or too much friction to make it spin properly. I assume that wheels are better suited for this.

Thank you, I didn't own any of the sets the tire was in so I didn't know it existed. From my calculations 14mm is just about 2 studs so I will have to make some difficult connections :/ Could you (or anybody else) try to build just one pair of wheels (where 5 or 6 wheels are needed) around the frame? I tried that but there was too much play and looseness on the wheels I took a look and those pin solutions look like a lot of drag on the car.
-
Ah ok, so the banking in the video is the smallest turn that's possible to create from this solution? I think that turning the pins the right way around will cause less stress on them (but still a lot though) meaning that the end parts of the pin needs to be placed vertically of the way the track needs to be oriented. They would still be unusable after a couple of weeks though - just like my axles on my airplane

I want to build a RC vehicle (done) but all I need is the wheel part now. I have tried many things but to no avail. The structure is this one: It needs 2 wheels on top, on the side and on the bottom of the rail (pin joiners). I have had a look at these wheels but I can't find any technic thing to connect it to. The wheel must no exceed 2,5 studs and may not be more than 1 stud wide. If you find a suitable wheel then please try it out and see if it fits all around the rail. I would prefer as little play as possible.

Moc PistenBully

Incredible MOC. It looks just like the real deal. A bigger picture would be awesome though -
Why the ridiculous size limit of 100 kb?
Carsten Svendsen replied to Carsten Svendsen's topic in Forum Information and Help
Nice, just what I needed It's not about pictures, it's about files - small files where as it could be a txt document or an LDD file. Those doesn't consume much disc space but when we got a limit of 100KB they consume very much. -
Why the ridiculous size limit of 100 kb?
Carsten Svendsen replied to Carsten Svendsen's topic in Forum Information and Help
No I did in fact see that bit of text in the FAQ. I'm not asking to be able to host pictures or anything. Look, as of now I have uploaded 2x SR 3D model files approx. 10 KB each. So that means I can only upload 10 model files on this website for as long as I live! You think I'm not going to build more than 10 MOC's for the next 80 years of my life? I can see your problem on the bandwith though, but it has got to be a really weak server to be needed to limit the file size that much. It doesn't say anywhere in your FAQ which website is good for file hosting. I know I could do some research my self (and probably wouldn't take more than 5 min), but you could give some suggestions... From my PoV you sound a little angry, I didn't want to anger you (or the mods) but a 100KB is still rather limited... -

Granted, I might have sounded a bit off there but I was just so annoyed with it. I did read the FAQ beforehand though..... I still think a 100 KB is way too small an amount to upload. In the end, you would have to upload your files to torrent site or something in order to share your small file size models or drawings or whatever it could be. Costly bandwith? What... you think we live in the 90's with only a 128K connection? -
I have almost just registered and I'm member nr. 31347. Now calculating 31347*100 = 3134700KB = 3GB Is your server really only a few GB large? Come on man, give us 10 MB each and install a 1 TB server HDD instead. That would make storage for 104857 membes !! I can't even upload 10 files without exceeding 100 KB. Or is it just because I'm a new member?

I just spent a little time on building the nose wheel in SR 3D builder too. Here is the file Landing Gear.zip
-
This week, I've been working on getting the landing gear to work. The actuator controlling the nose wheel was making a lot of trouble for me and its angle was too horizontical so I had to do something about it I've added pneumatic to raise and lower the nose wheel instead and I've also added a mechanism to close the nose wheel hole, also controlled by pneumatic. You can see all of that in this video (Watch in full screen or else you won't be able to see anything - and HD) And if you wondered why I couldn't split the liftarms by the nose wheel it's because I ain't got enough room to play with and I ain't got Bob Hoovers schematics (Which is an awesome work). Here are some pics of the internal functions: Now I just await the mini pump ordered on BL and I've also ordered a mikro motor to experiment with the wing flaps since the axles and perpendicular joints causes to much play. If you've got any questions just ask.

I've set every graphical setting to MAX. It doesn't consume much GPU power; a 5 year old laptop could probably handle this program well.

Apparantly the new triangle does not have a weird texture anymore but the mini pump still does I'm not aware of how difficult it is to make components in a program - I just pointed out that they were missing, not that I'm upset that they're not there yet.

Cool I find it a bit funny how the old mummys name is pronounced :D
