People get too touchy about threads. This is a Lego TMNT thread. It's based on the show. I talked about the show that which these Lego sets are based. Close enough.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Discussion

Bullcrap. They literally hitting them as hard as they could couldn't do much to the Kraang. Teamwork doesn't make your weapons slice through metal easier. It doesn't make your attacks that used to barely phase them suddenly phase them. If you take Don from the early episodes and he hit a Kraang full strength it would barely phase the Kraang. Take later Donnie and he'll knock their head off as if suddenly with super strength. And to further the point they're constantly going solo against armies of these guys which obviously means no teamwork. They either advanced in their abilities ridiculously fast, gained some kind of super strength or the writers didn't care. :) -
Adventure Time needs Lego.

Nope. I played Magic the Gathering for years. However the fact that you can't really advance that much without spending too much money kind of killed it for me. I was good but always held back by my very limited collection which seemed to be 1/100th the size of everyone elses. I'd expect YoGiOh to be no different :P.

Well the season finale was a bit on the weaker side. I think this being aimed at kids on Nick has gotten to it too much. I mean... *spoilers* They just tied everything in too neat of a bow. I was half expecting Leonardo to "sacrifice" himself and get sucked into Dimension X with the reveal that he survived being Season 2. The way he just "lol I didn't sacrifice myself tricked you" was a bit lame. Also they still didn't explain April at all. She's specially tuned to the universe? What does that mean and why? I'd have liked more. I hope they actually answer it some day and don't leave it random. Then the "reveal" about Kurai was so painfully obvious it was... painful. :P Lastly Splinter never actually explained why he never helps. I'd really love some insight into his motivations. He's obviously capable. Maybe there's a story about how he had an apprentice long ago and was too soft which made them die. Idunno... anything besides "I don't have to explain to a child"... 7/10. Not my favorite of the episodes. And it's certainly showing it's demographic. But at the same time in another Nick show Legend of Korra they basically showed someone kill himself and his brother so I don't think the network is limiting them... I hope season 2 has less Monster of the Weeks. More plot growth and less kiddie tropes (like it showing the surviving people miraculously and randomly popping up from the water).

They're totally real. What it means for the franchise is... who knows. Why you'd question it's authenticity is understandable. It's not expected to say the least. Apparently not all Pokemon will have a Mega Form. The form will be caused by a held Mega Stone and will be TEMPORARY in battle. It's interesting. I wonder how many Pokemon will have a Mega Form. We know at least one starter will. Will all then? Pretty freakin' crazy.

The show is real good. I think it's a bit too monster of the week though. The difference in quality between an episode that advances the story and one that shows some random mutation is often quite huge. I'd go as far as to say this is the best Ninja Turtle series yet. I too hope some day we get Bebop and Rocksteady though find it unlikely. Maybe one day Bradford and Frishface (forget his human name) will leave :P honestly I haven't exactly fallen in love with the characters. Bradford had an interesting story at first but lately he's just been a minion who also has gone through that odd process of "ninja turtles can barely beat him! they have to run!" to "he's nothing they can handle him" which is one of the show's weaknesses. Seriously, every new enemy they face they have a real hard time with. They could barely touch the Kraang bots at first which originally seemed to have super strength. Then suddenly they're stormtroopers (literally shooting at often non-moving targets and missing) and fall like flies. Dogpound was huge and barely survivable. Now he's like nothing and a single Turtle can take him (and he oddly SHRANK physically). I mean yeah they can learn and stuff but the difference of power becomes unreasonable. Kraang lost their super strength and toughness completely :P. -
LEGO® CUUSOO 空想 - Turn your model wishes into reality

Did he mention the whole process? It looks pretty good. I assume he did more than filing it down. -

I still don't even know what Poptropica is. Anyways the Ghostbusters thing... are those customized molds for two of those hairs? I don't recognize all those hairs. -
Next CUUSOO set: 21103 Back to the Future™ Time Machine
BrickG replied to Blakstone's topic in LEGO Licensed
If this was Amazon time travel would be possible. I once ordered something from Texas (I'm in california) and it magically got there the same day. This Lego set however seems to be stalled in the middle of Arkansas though... -
You'd think they'd show all the stats... having to hunt them down. DPI is apparently rarely shown :P. Just need a good... quality... printer... print quality is all that matters. They like to make it as hard as possible. What's the second number in the DPI mean? Like 2880x1400 (or whatever).

I really wish I stilled cared about the Simpsons. I might get the family minifigures just for Nostalgia but I haven't watched it regularly in like 15 years (yikes I'm old...). I've maybe seen 3 episodes in all that time.

Mine finally say shipped. I went a bit crazy there . But it's the Back to the Future set so it's understandable. -
Shapeways.com... any good for custom Lego pieces?
BrickG replied to BrickG's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I've bought some experiments. Basically Lego Zelda gear, multiples of a few and in different materials. If I can get any of them looking good enough I might go this way with a few *missing* parts for some customs I want to make (Worf's hair, etc). If I can't then whatever :P. I wish the process was faster though. It's not shipping until the 14th (estimate). I'm impatient. -
I'm curious. Is there a way to successfully "edit" a lego
BrickG replied to BrickG's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
So the answer is "no"? :P Hand sculpted things don't float my boat. They look imperfect. Sculpey is out. Couldn't find anything about trimming/sanding/cutting lego parts in there so I assume it would be a bad idea. -
Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures...
BrickG replied to The Kid's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I'm filled with not caring. I've not know anything about the previous actors. I know nothing about this one. So I'll wait and see. -
I'm talking like... with sandpaper or something you take away from existing say, hair, and (probably) treat it with something to make it look good. I know some people use putty and stuff but that is too imperfect for my tastes. And I doubt I can actually make custom molds (I can't imagine how expensive that would be :P). 3d Printing doesn't seem to be up to par yet either. So... can people like... reshape elements without just ruining them to crap? Is it possible (without being ridiculously expensive)? My guess is "nope". :)
-
My issue is I can't do much trial and error if I use someone else, or at least it would be a lot slower. I'm currently considering spending more than I'm comfortable with. Perhaps on an ALPS Microdry Printer if I can find one. I'm also liking how they can print in metallic colors (would be handy for Geordi's Visor and the badges). Now... the quest is can I find one that can print in a high enough Lego-like quality that's not just plain insanely expensive :P.
-
What printer do you use Hinckley? Lemmie guess, something really expensive? :P

d00d that was like the 60s. I'm not sure it counts these days.

I can't support this and frankly find it a bit insulting. I'm too lazy to go into detailed reasoning and have an argument atm. First off I see no problem with the "cult-followers of outside sources such as films, TV series, and video games". Then you seem to suggest they're squashing the "true Lego fans". I just get a sense of elitism, entitlement and other negativity. I consider myself a pretty good Lego fan. I wouldn't say "true" because that implies that my opinions are the only valid way and I don't want to be a jerk like that. Suggesting that those of us who disagree with you aren't true Lego fans is.... jerky. Even for the people who are voting that aren't super into Lego (maybe voting out of nostalgia for their childhood or they just think it's neat) I think this whole post screams "snob"... I'll be honest. I stopped reading after the first few paragraphs that I found absolutely absurd. I think discounting the masses even if they're not all hardcore Lego fans would be the stupidest Business decision Lego could make. I find your request (for what little I read) to be unreasonable and unsympathetic to casual fans who you seem to think for some reason deserve less influence. They're trying to SELL to the masses. Cuusoo is a great marketing tool and do you think it would be wise to really limit that marketing by limiting the votes? Or by rewarding people unevenly? Or by releasing sets that only the much smaller market of these "true Lego fans" would be interested in (btw still insulted)? Should they sacrifice a lot of profits to appease these "true Lego fans" you speak of and screw everyone else (you know, since they're not TRUE fans...)? Everything is wrong with your post. Well, of what I read of it.

That's cause Lego.com sucks and is the only place I have this issue with (and multiple times). Their computers don't have the actual stock and they oversell like morons apparently. -

Still no ship. Bought before others.... 100% done with Lego's direct stores. This has happened to me multiple times... It should be FIRST COME FIRST SERVE. I have no idea why they skip me so often.
