Eurobricks Mafia II: Mafia School: Day Two
Walter Kovacs replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I wouldn't think it would. From my understanding of the role, the Lie Detector takes one statement from one player, and asks the Host if it is true. There are probably some other caveats, provisos and some quid pro quos on what can and can't be asked, but that's it in a nutshell. I can't imagine the timestamp on the statement matters. Still, just to be safe: I am a Townie.- 175 replies

Eurobricks Mafia II: Mafia School: Day Two
Walter Kovacs replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Perhaps he's alone because his conversion attempt failed, and he really IS the only scum recruiter left? It's a possibility. I've been wavering between believing Scouty is Town and believing he is scum all day. His giving up midday really led me toward the Townie side. I just couldn't see scum doing that. Unless it was a ploy. Pretend to give up while there is plenty of hours left in the day, then suddenly "get your sea-legs" and fight back while you have everyone's sympathy. It seems plausible to me. Plausible enough to: Vote: Li'l Scouty ^ See Peanuts, That is how it's done. [ b ] text [ / b ], without the spaces, of course.- 175 replies

Eurobricks Mafia II: Mafia School: Day Two
Walter Kovacs replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
A trusted player like you? Or me? Unless this theoretical town blocker was recruited into the Masonic block, there's no one to trust really except himself/herself/itself. And let's not forget, there are plenty of other possibilities. The target could have attracted a doctor's protection, or the target could be a commuter. Yes, a roleblocker's testimony would be useful in leading a lynch, but that testimony could be flawed as well, and could lead to the lynch of townie.- 175 replies

So would I, but I don't think there is any way he/she/it is going to come forward this early. I have a feeling the scum would like to know the identity of the blocker, assuming the town has one.- 175 replies

Eurobricks Mafia II: Mafia School: Day Two
Walter Kovacs replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
That's an interesting point, Li'l Pirate, but we all saw this post from Mr. def yesterday. Some might have missed it, but I think most know what it says: Quote The vanillas all received a variation of this: you are a vanilla townie. You have no night action, but you are really important to the game! You may be inducted into the masonry, or you may be recruited by scum, so please take part from the start, since your role may expand, and your teams need you. Ability players received this as a tag on their PMs This is a mandatory ability, and if you fail to submit your night actions, you will receive a vote penalty the next day. The penalty will not be explained. I expect you not to use this as a way to ingratiate yourself to the town (and have stated that I was sending you this in thread, so they should know not to), but in case things continue... *Bolded for emphasis. So if we do have a Vig, he took a shot at someone. Which means that one kill action was blocked somehow last night. We don't know which side it was. We don't know if it was due to a Doctor protecting the correct person, a bulletproof vest, or a good Roleblock decision. But I can guarantee that a Town Vig did try and kill someone last night. I wonder if the scum have the same, mandatory wording that Townies have. That might mean the scum didn't try and kill, but the Vig did. Hmmm... Hrm, Mr. def's quote didn't come out the way I wanted it too. You guys (and gals) get the idea. Oh, and I almost forgot the obligatory "It's great to be alive. Yayz! We got one of them scumzors!!!"- 175 replies

Eurobricks Mafia II: Mafia School: Day One
Walter Kovacs replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I know it doesn't mean much at this point, but: Unvote: Li'l Danny Longlegs Vote: Li'l TrumpetKing For all the townies out there, please don't panic. If the scum teams are uniting, and there is some doubt that they are, then we are now in a standard mafia game. 15 or 16 town vs 4 or 5 scum. Even without a cop, this is very doable. I remember Mr def saying somewhere that if he took the Town's cop away, he would reduce the scum numbers by one. Since there were 6 scum in EB I, with Trumpet sacrificing himself, that would leave 4 scum left. Following this train of thought, Trumpet is likely to be on the team with 3 members (would a scum team willingly agree to cut their numbers to 1? On Day 1? Not likely). Also, It's likely that his partners in crime were in on the voting, to make sure that the bandwagon formed. Keep that in mind when you analyse today's voting and discussions. Townies with Power Roles, choose your targets wisely. There was a lot of discussion, and a lot of people flinging accusations. Make sure you go over the entire day and make good choices. Because if we do make mistakes, it won't take long before 4 against 16 turns into a scum victory.- 249 replies

Walter Kovacs replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I've been keeping track of the conversations here (I don't typically talk unless I have something meaningful to add), and other than a gut feel, I really don't have a good feel on most student's alignment but my own. That being said, this sure looks like a typical Day 1 lynch, and I won't be surprised if Li'l Trumpet flips town. Li'l Zepher I think is Town as well, though I can't be certain. Li'l Danny and Li'l Peanuts are the ones I'm least sure about. Li'l 'Nuts has been talking a bit more often, but hasn't really contributed much, and Li'l Dan isn't around much at all. I'm going to follow my gut, and Vote: Li'l Danny Longlegs I don't expect anyone to follow my lead here, but I have to do what I feel is right.- 249 replies

I am aligned with the town. I'd like to comment more on todays discussion, but I find all I really can concentrate on is a quick shower and a nice nap. Before I retire, though, is everyone satisfied with Zepher's answer? Are there any other players that have registered a ping on the collective scumdars?- 249 replies

Dear Lord, why are you voting for me? I thought I made it clear that, given the longevity of past mayors, I really didn't want it. I have to admit, Corny's willingness to to accept the mantel of mayorhood, given his past experience with the position seems a bit suspect. Almost like he knows he'd be safe. But, as others have stated, it would be difficult for him to choose a townie over a clearly scummy partner (IF he is scum, which is nowhere near a certainty). So I feel OK in casting my vote. Mayor: Li'l Cornelius Murdock- 249 replies

The same sort of role was present in Bloodbrick I. In case of a tie, the first to receive the highest vote gets the honor. If no one votes, def chooses a random player.- 249 replies

I know you meant it as a joke, Li'l KDM. And I'm pretty sure Hinckley did, too (though I shouldn't assume anything. megablocks out of U and me and all that). In the mean time, I'm going to hold on to my mayoral vote for a bit longer to see if someone who really wants it steps forward. And then I'll decide if I trust that person or not.- 249 replies

I suppose I should have seen that coming. I know, right? In EB I, Cornelius Murdock was the first mayor, and was immediately scumkilled (or was it the Vig?) that night. Hinckley was voted the next mayor, and then immediately lynched that day. I think the third mayor actually survived for a few days, but after the first two, noone was really stepping up for the position.- 249 replies

After seeing what happened to mayors in EB I, I don't think I want the job. In all seriousness, the job of mayor isn't that big a deal. In all (def's) games where there has been a mayor, have any ties ever come up during a lynch? I don't recall any, but I'm not fully versed in it, either. Sounds like you just volunteered!!- 249 replies

Hi-diddly-ho, neighborinos! Li'l Walter K here. Back from the dead and ready to kick some scum megablocks. I feel like I have to set the record straight about my nickname "Li'l". It's one of those oxymoron type things, where you say the opposite of what you actually mean. 'Cause I'm a master swordsman. Li'l Hinckley, unfortunately, is appropriate.

Thanks a bunch C3P. It worked like a charm (after a short learning curve in paint.net on how to make the final image into a png file again). Here is the first test result:
-
Like Angmarec, I am having problems with making my final image transparent. I've turned off the floor (I think), typed the +UA, and checked for a sky_sphere, which doesn't appear to be in my file. Any suggestions where else to look? For reference, I am using the latest beta version of POV-Ray 3.7 for the rendering and paint.net to try and lay one image over the other. I've done some tests, and I can use the eraser tool in paint.net to remove the background and see the image below, so the problem is definitely somewhere in LDView or POV-Ray. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Edit: Here is a link to the .POV file. Hope it helps.
-
Yeah, I found that out the hard way. The Gungan Sub took a while, thanks to the three transparent windscreens. And don't think I'm bragging. When I was using POV-Ray a few years (around 5) ago, the machine I was using would vomit on almost any model with more than 1000 pieces, with no Anti-Aliasing and no Radiosity. This has been a nice change.

I'll look into brick building Jabba as a replacement. Don't worry too much about rendering time. I just rendered the UCS Y-Wing, as I felt that would probably take the longest to render, and it took under 15 minutes. My machine is apparently smoking fast.

I realize rendering isn't necessary. But I think rendered images look MUCH better. Just personal taste. I've already got the first four rendered, I just need to find some freeware to resize them appropriately.
