QUESTION: How to make a good Mando helmet?
Stash2Sixx replied to General Magma's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I'm actally working on this myself. I sanded down the helm a bit, and I'm experimenting with the jetpack/helmet seperation. This seems to be the most puzzling. But, with a new jetpack released this year, that is always another option. -
CONGRATZ to you and the Mrs. I'll be sure to smoke a cigar for you tomorrow night! When you decide on a name, let us know! Stash2sixx/Adam

Thanks for the review Mr. Mandalorian. I was also pleased with the book. The Luke figure is fantastic!

Talk to the Star Wars Moderators and Regulators
Stash2Sixx replied to KimT's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Tags are given out by the Admin. Just like titles though, asking for one will probably NOT get you one. As to your Community Corruscant Build, you would have to draw up standards and guidelines, along with basic requirements. Take a more thorough look at how the EBCCB was done/set up; that may give you a few ideas. But since you don't want to organize it.....Just remember people, this is not the place to set something like this up, this is just an ask the moderators forum. Did I manage to answer your questions? -
The Woodfield LEGO Store (outside Chicago, IL) had 5 members turn up from the 501st. Darth Vader, Captain Rex, a female Jedi, Anakin, and a Stormtrooper were all in attendance! Needless to say, there were a lot of pictures taken by people, and the books seemed to be flying out of the store! I think this book is a great collection of all the Star Wars LEGO sets available. I just don't know why they call it a dictionary?

Sure, I can clear this up... Captain Geoffrey/Escape the Fate had spoken with me and said how he knew I was innocent because Admiral Mallory/Sir Dillon investigated me. He also found Ambassadoe Vipont/Shadows to be guilty, and was slightly confused. What I am saying is that if he is a paranoid investigator, then by reinvestigating me will fix that. He will find that I am innocent, twice, and then we will know who to go after from there. Once again, I am trying to offer up proof for those of you that want it, but everyone still wants to go on speculation.
-
I have been informed via a potato message from another member of this castle. I have been informed that I had already been investigated once and by you investigating me again, you will prove that you are not a paranoid investigator. To the others, I mean that if I am investigated tonight and found to be a dragon, then I will vote myself off. BUT, I know that won't happen because when I am investgated, I will be found loyal!
-
Amazing that there is no proof on me, yet many of you who voted speak of proof and evidence. Here I am, trying to show you proof, but you choose not to listen? Investigate me tonight, you will see that I am an innocent, loyal member of this castle. Besides, the vigilante killer is gone right? We wouldn't have to worry about anyone dying tonight, except by the hands of the Dragon's killer. I may have voted in the past with no proof, but if you vote me tonight, we will just lose another member of the castle, and the Dragons will be that much closer to winning. Take the chance and just investigate, you will be satisfied in the morning. As for you Friar... On morning 2, you are seen speaking with Lady Harcourt and Countess Maragaret. On Morning 5, you are seen speaking with Simon. This morning, you are the last one to arrive? You continually tend to hide behind all others with your little story, but it makes me wonder how you got to that story? Could you have been converted by the Dragons? You seemed to vote for Simon with no problem, which tells me that you used him as a 'sacrificial shield' to protect yourself for the future. I am not accusing you, I am simply looking for proof. We have none, and I am trying to go about getting some.
-
I have been investigated, and I have been found to be a loyal member of this castle, or does Admiral Mallory not want to back up those facts? If you feel you might be paranoid Admiral, then please investigate me again tonight. I know from previous stories that the people who were believed to be paranoid investigators figured out their error after reinvestigating a person! I believe it was a story called Noir, and no, the book was not given to me by Simon. There was a police chief, whatever that is, and when he reinvestigated a member whom he thought to be innocent, it was found out that he was actually corrupt. I'm not corrupt, or scum, or a Dragon, but by investigating me tonight, you will see that I really am a loyal member of this castle, and you will have proved that you are not a paranoid investigator. If I am lying, I will gladly vote for myself tomorrow morning. My word as a Lord. Then Friar, you will see that you aren't as smart as you think you are! I voted for Agnes because of her early annoyingness, similar to that of Ethel.

Just give them a call, ask for the Pick A Brick expert, or at least find out when that person will be in. Then just ask away. Most stores are helpful, and if they aren't, just let us all know! Concord Mills = 704-979-5708 Crabtree Valley = 919-787-5771

Because maybe the new helmet wasn't fully developed yet? And LEGO fans can be pretty rabid, especially the Star Wars ones! That would be my guess. Eagerly awaiting January...
-
That 'crazy maid' may very well be onto something? Good job everyone. Dragons are starting to fall, which is a good thing. As the Friar has asked, anyone got any info? Factual info would be very good right now.
-
Thanks for the info, but I'm gonna move this to the B/S/T/F forum.

I really don't use stickers on my LEGO, but you are really makin' me think twice. These look great Rayman! You keep churnin' them out, and we will keep droolin' all over our keyboards!

Review of BrickTW Products In September of this year, BrickTW entered the brick accessories market and I was curious to see what their accessories looked like up close. With other people doing reviews of Brickarms and Brickforge products, I decided I would review BrickTW. So I placed an order and within no time my order had arrived complete and error free, which is a good sign. You can visit their website here to see their prices and all items in more detail. From what I can tell, they seem to be geared towards building Chinese Dynasty Warriors. I am not an expert on ancient Chinese civilizations though, so I have no idea if these weapons/armor actually existed at some point in history. For the review, I used two normal minifigs, Goatee and Smiley. Now let's start with the colors. BrickTW uses 4 colors for all of their accessories, Tan/Biege, Red, Dark Warm Grey, and Black. I think the colors match up very well, but you can decide for yourself. I also threw in a little bit of Dark Bluish Grey to help out with your color comparison some more. So with the color match questions out of the way, let's get right into the good stuff...WEAPONS!!! SWORDS 5 swords are available, they are... Slaughter Broadsword Saints Sword Broadsword with Seven Stars Bloody Broadsword Revolution Broadsword OPINIONS The detail and relief is fantastic and these things don't break easily (I tried), but these things are HUGE! If these really were this big in real life, I don't know how an army would have had the stamina to fight after carrying their weapons to the battle! One of them reminds me of a sword carried by a specific character from the Final Fantasy saga. HALBERD Only 1 option is available in the four colors. Dark Hell Halberd OPINIONS The scale seems right, and I think it is quite unique. I like this one, if nothing else, for the fact that it is one wicked weapon! SPEAR There is only one type of spear... Cross Dragon Spear OPINIONS This is such a simple design, yet just looks it would destroy an enemy when thrown. My favorite out of all the weapons they have! BOW Just one bow in their inventory... Flame-stlye Bow OPINIONS I like the look of this bow. The extra detail really makes it stand out from other bows. I just don't see myself using it in mass because it has such a unique look. I do see uses for this, but only with a few archers or rangers. I just can't seem to figure out the point of those two holes in the bow. The Brickforge Longbow has holes, but those are for threading string or fishing line through. SHIELDS There are 3 different types of Shields Round-style Fighting Shield Rectangle Shield Rectangle Shield for Spear Soldiers All of the shields have a small pin (handle) which attaches to the backside. This is very useful if you want to pose your warrior with his shield in a specific way. OPINIONS The pin feature for a handle is great. I think it creates a lot of different angles in which the shield can be used/carried. The three options are great because not all warriors used the same types of shields. I did see one problem though, and this is most likely due to the plastic, but there seems to be a cloudiness to some of the shields. I tried to photograph it as best as I could. BODY WEAR There are 4 pieces of armor... Ching Dynasty Armor Army Clothing of Ching Dynasty (back is same as front) Armor of Zhao-Yun Clothing of Zhao-Yun OPINIONS Armor looks good, there is some great detail put in. They fit snug and have enough of an opening at the top so the neck actually disappears. When you apply a cape though, the head doesnt sink down as far into the armor, but that is easily fixed by increasing the hole in the cape. The helmets seem to work fine with the armor, and also with a cape. HELMETS BrickTW has one hairpiece and four helmets for order... Zhao-Yun hair style Army Helmet of Kin Dynasty Steel Helmet of Kin Dynasty Army Cap of Ching Dynasty Army Helmet of Ching Dynasty OPINIONS The helmets all look good, including the hairpiece. I found that ALL of the helmets, including the hair, were very tight fitting to the heads. I had to trim off just a little inside each piece before attaching it to a minifig head. I found out the hard way and mutilated two heads while trying to remove them. But now they work great; they stay on and pop off when I want them to. I did find one of the helmets looked very similar to another helmet I had seen before... HELMET ORNAMENTS We know these more commonly as headwear accesories, and there are a few different ones to choose from. Ornament of Kin Ornament of Ching Ching Dynasty Feather Ching Dynasty Feather for fighting OPINIONS As small as these are, they really add a lot to the helmets. After equiping the models with the helmets, they actaully look naked without these tiny details. A great addition to the helmets. Well there you go! These are the accessories available from BrickTW, and every piece is available in every color. Only time will tell how popular these become. As for color and durability, these definitely match up to our standards. And now, I finally have a review done!

Talk to the Star Wars Moderators and Regulators
Stash2Sixx replied to KimT's topic in LEGO Star Wars
About 1 year before, but I could be mistaken. I remember talking to a rep in a TRU once, and it was just before the license was going to run out. He told me that the license had been extended into 2011. -
As I take pictures and gradually add the figures to my displays, I will start to include them on here. Here is my Troll army at one of our recent shows. This is only about a quarter of them, since I have way too many boxes to still open and sort through. So darn time consuming, right? Anyway, my first army thread contribution.

There have been times when I just got busy and forgot to transfer money into my account for internet use, therefore, I didn't pay within the specified window. Of course, I emailed the seller to let them know I needed a few extra days. Always got a response of no problem, along with a thank you for letting me know. There have also been times where I have waited for days for an invoice. Just a quick little POLITE reminder to the seller is sometimes all it takes. Most often, they are busy also and just didn't get to sending it. Remember, if you act like a putz and cancel, cancel, cancel, it will eventually catch up to you and be known by your feedback. Then, good luck buying from Bricklink. Just my two cents.

As much as we may tire of Ahsoka, the kids love her, and for that reason, LEGO is gonna keep tossing her in sets. Though after seeing those last episodes, I really hope that they don't base the Turbo Tank (if it really is a set) on that one. Judging by the people in those scenes, we have enough of those minifigs already, we need unique minifigs. But, LEGO does have a history of putting the rarer figures into the larger sets, so I'll just have to wait.

Nope, with constant messages of spam, I mean babbling, I just decided to see what was really going on. I haven't twisted your words at all, that's not my intention. I was just hoping at this point, maybe, an investigator would come forth with proof on anyone. I know of two others who know that I am loyal. I have been contacted by them and am looking forward to ridding the castle of all non-loyal dragons. At this point my good Chef, I just want a little proof so we don't make anymore mistakes. We all know how Duchess Dufay felt but what if, what if her judgement was clouded?
-
So the Chef has been sending you strange messages eh? The Chef also neglected to vote yesterday for Lady Harcourt? Hmmmm..... And, the Chef has a little lackey also, who goes by the name of Agnes... Interesting information. Sending mixed messages to people is an act of confusion, or foolishness. Either way, I agree with LAdy Papilion, and one of our non-Harcourt voters should be looked into, and since we can't look into them right now, my vote goes to.. Vote: Chef Walter/JimButcher. Prove to me you are loyal, and I will gladly retract my vote!

Sorry to hear about your situation, but let's see if we can help you out... First of all, if you can help it, GTHO of TRU! Unless it is your only option, I really can't stand that place. If you really know what you want, and King's Castle Siege is worth every penny in parts, then go online and buy. It's tough to try and rationalize the price per piece ratio, so don't! If it's what you want, then do it. Have fun and enjoy life! That's why we love this hobby! Otherwise, Ebay is not a bad place to go cruising either, but that is definitely one of those places where the really, really good deals are far and few between. As for your grey age, relax; take it all in stride. Maybe you are ready, and maybe you aren't? Ever considering joining a LUG? Do you have one in your area? I have found my LEGO group, NILTC, to be a great source of friendship and people to talk with. I have also found that there are many LEGO fans around the world that I am happy to call my friends. If you really want to get back into LEGO, then stay with this site. Stories, conversation, inspiration, friends; this is a great place, it really is!
