So I did! Fixed (that's what I get for looking at some Hasbro lightsaber thing just before visiting that post) While 'tan' seems fitting based on some toys & perhaps some images, dark tan really does look a lot nicer considering the Lego colors specifically. Lego tan is too light, and too close to the light flesh tone that it seems kinda jarring sometimes.
-
...Lego really needs to resurrect the dark tan hands they used on one version of Santis from Knights Kingdom II so many years ago (seriously, why only the one time?!)... it's a terrific color for gloved hands, and looks a lot better on Endor troops than the regular tan (which often seems too close to light flesh... tho for the Bith it's perfect for bare hands!), or the dark bley they used to use.

Who says they're gonna even make that ship? We see it blow up in the teaser... for all we know, we see it land that one time and then it gets destroyed. IMO, stuff like the tank, the AT-ACT, AT-ST, U-wing, & TIE Striker have more playability than a ship where our first glimpse of it is it exploding. Even if all we ever see of the tank, for instance, is that brief shot in the teaser. It's also perhaps too similar to the Tydirium and Kylo's shuttle... big Imp transport with upright wings. Maybe down the line, but not right now.
-
AT-ATs probably have heavier firepower and are meant as the primary means of assault, while AT-ACTs are probably more about delivering troops into hostile situations. Heavily-armored landing boats with guns, maybe.
-
That seems a little too big (particularly the arms)... for Chewie, I still kinda wish they'd give him Woody legs, or something a plate or two shorter but still taller than regular minifig legs. That could work for Zeb, too, I suppose... Woody arms, as well. It'd make designing a Falcon cockpit he could sit in with Han/Rey/whomever a little more challenging, tho.

Yes, if you're not a fan of the Rebels "frown" stormtroopers anyway. If you don't mind those, they're much, much cheaper to acquire in great numbers, and while their torso & leg printing's a little different, it's still very OT-looking... the deep frown is the main drawback because of the silly idea TLG had of making them look "like the show" when that's not really necessary given the style of the other characters. Techs & crew are a little tougher, tho older styles might be cheaper to acquire with the newer ones out. Maybe. The hats will probably be trickiest.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Venkefedo replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
He should change outfits occasionally, at least. One problem with the comics so far is that Han basically wears the exact same ANH outfit (as does Luke, tho his is the Yavin Ceremony outfit) all the time... change a shirt once in awhile, or swap the vest for a jacket! Tho in the upcoming "Han Solo #1" he does just that, wearing a brown jacket similar to his ESB/TFA jackets (but not the same as either). There should be more of that. These guys aren't characters in a CG cartoon where changing their outfits is a big deal and usually only reserved for Imperial disguises (Kanan in a stormtrooper suit; Rex in a stormtrooper suit; Ezra in a cadet uniform). Having him in something different in the upcoming movie would set him apart from his time in ANH (especially if it's years earlier)... give him a maroon shirt, a blue jacket, whatever. Mix it up some. Not everyone should be restricted to one outfit like Vader (where his only major decision each morning is "surcoat under the armor, or over it?") He never had a wife before Leia. He and Sana Starros staged a fake wedding as part of a robbery they were pulling off, that's it. -
What Marvel/DC Characters Will NEVER Get Minifigures?
Venkefedo replied to Suspsy's topic in LEGO Licensed
I think we might see a Spider-Gwen minifig in the next few years. Hopefully she'd have masked & unmasked heads (ala Captain Marvel), a hairpiece, and her hood! -

They'll probably use the same head, but adjust hair & outfit accordingly (he hopefully won't be wearing the exact same outfit as ANH) -
So far we've only seen her bare-headed: at Yavin Base, on the transport, in the action scene fighting stormies... There are a number of helmets in the film, not just Endor/Hoth/Tantive IV(Yavin)-style. There's at least one new type of hat visible on multiple Rebels in the teaser trailer, but I'm not sure it really matches the one in this Lego figure...
-
...and none of the figures in the TIE/A-wing set have new molds, either! Some new printing and new colors on a couple hair pieces & a helmet, that's it. Could've thrown in Zeb there just to fill it out more.

It's a nice design (and 'alt-build' of Poe Dameron's X-wing, for the most part), but it'll go nowhere on Ideas even if it gets the 10,000 votes. They aren't going to produce a Star Wars model based on something that doesn't exist in the Star Wars canon, let alone in the EU either. Episode VIII seems to begin right where Episode VII left off, and if IX follows suit then it's possible an advanced A-wing such as this might be in use a few years later as you suggest, but that won't be covered for awhile. The A-wing in VIII, what little we've seen of it so far, looks more like the ROTJ A-wing with a touch more McQuarrie thrown in (like the laser cannons, just like in the upcoming Rebels A-wing/Vader-TIE set).

The UCS Hype. What will 2017 bring? (40th Anniversary)
Venkefedo replied to Major_Ton's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I wouldn't mind seeing the Falcon again, updated. Give it a nice interior, too; the interior of the latest Falcon is very nice, so I bet they could really do a good job with a UCS one... -
Vader looks great as an ANH Vader (tho I suspect he might also appear in the Death Star set that way... but probably with a new head just to mess with us), Sabine's redeco is really, really nice (hair still stinks, but the color's good!), and Tarkin...good face, but still a mistake in the uniform color.
-
The last TIE was also a 2-seater and had loads of noodly bits, like the 'treads' on the inside of the wings, and lots of plates used for the wings. The Striker's wings are much smaller in terms of area, so could be a lot less parts-intensive. I'd put it somewhere between the TIE Advanced Prototype and the First Order Special Forces TIE maybe...tho there's nothing on the price list that'd match that. So if it's more pieces than the Inquisitor's TIE, then it might indeed be the $70 set...in which case, I'd hope for a LOT of minifigs to account for the price, since parts alone shouldn't really get it there.
-
Wow...that meant we saw the U-wings a long time ago! I remember when that image first appeared, and people wondered if they were snowspeeder-type craft or troop-carrier versions of the snowspeeders. I expect this'll be one of the larger sets, in that case, and probably the only way to get, like, Captain Andor or K-250 or something. Or those aliens in the group that we've hardly heard about. Hopefully there'll be a couple Rebel troops in it, too, along with a named character or two, since it's a troop transport of sorts. Lots of soldier possibilities just in the material we've seen so far!
-
For the sake of having them, maybe, but also for the sake of expanding the universe... It's a big galaxy, and to fight a civil war would require far more than what we saw at Yavin or Hoth (probably even more than what we saw at Endor, tho we know that was most of what they had--they could've still had some operatives, squadrons, etc elsewhere harrying other Imperial sites, providing distractions, securing bases). And yeah, Sato seems to have a tan head, which is about what it should be. It makes Ezra & Sabine stand out more for not having proper skin tones, tho.
-
Those aren't final by any means... the artist got a little lazy, what with giving Diego Luna's character such light-colored hair, odd choices in hair pieces, goggles simply resting on black Kanan-hair... some of the torso prints look cool, and I really like the blue Hoth hat, but it's just a CG mockup based on the first cast photo, nothing more...
-
In-universe, we know it has a different arrangement of guns... Maybe it's meant more for targeting infantry or something. I imagine the acronym'll be something like "All-Terrain Anti-C-something Transport"? In Lego form, if it is indeed the largest of the sets and those parts-counts are accurate, then it'll probably be smaller. That doesn't seem terribly likely, tho.
-
"S-foil assembly"... seems likely they might move, then. Gotta be some visual accompaniment to the command "Lock S-foils in attack position"! Even if there isn't in the film, Lego will probably add it into the toy since it'd give it something more to do. Looks like a fun ship to build and should fit right in with other Rebel fighter sets.

Sounds like the adaptation of Splinter of the Mind's Eye, which was written by Alan Dean Foster after the first film as an idea for a lower-budget sequel that could be made if the first film tanked. It didn't, obviously, so SOTME became the first "EU" book, of a sort, and ESB became the sequel film. Years later, Dark Horse adapted it into comic form.

[Anthology]-Small-A Disarming Approach
Venkefedo replied to brickmasterben11's topic in Watto's Junkyard
Not, however, the official backstory which is covered in Marvel's C-3PO one-shot (where it's the arm of a First Order droid who sacrificed himself to save 3PO so 3PO could deliver the important information related to Admiral Ackbar's imprisonment by the First Order) Neat little vignette tho! -

The YA novel "Moving Target" gave a nod to Shadows of the Empire, but also made it impossible for the story to ever be canon. Luke & Leia, as high-value targets in the Alliance, were generally kept apart for the year between ESB & ROTJ. They encountered each other a couple times, one being where Luke escorted Leia to the meeting where top Alliance officials learned the Emperor was building a new Death Star (Luke wasn't invited to the meeting, he just escorted Leia there; the nod to SOTE comes from when he tells Leia he was recently on Kothlis). Leia's activities following the meeting preclude the possibility of SOTE's events happening as well. However, Dash Rendar's ship model is still considered canon, as we do see a YT-2400 in Mos Eisley in the ANH Special Edition. It's not defined as the Outrider, tho, nor is Dash himself currently canon. It could eventually be established as his ship, with a rebooted Dash inserted into new stories down the line. If that ever happens, notably in film or TV series (as Lego has yet to tackle characters/ships from the comics or books), then Lego might make him & his ship. -
<total absence of photos of Imperial base on Alderaan> I see what you did there!

Minister Tua would be awesome, but she'd need a unique hat. That'd be cool to get, tho! AP-5 could still happen, there are often left-field characters that don't match the set/timeline, like Fifth Brother with Rex's AT-TE. Could even argue that Season 2 Sabine is an odd one to include in the TIE Advanced/A-wing set, since she didn't change her look until after Siege of Lothal where Vader trashed Phoenix Squadron so heavily.
