  1. I dunno, I think the battle packs might hit that mark given the apparent part-count and the fact it's not licensed (fleshie humans aside). The two-person mini-build seem about right for $13 sets, too; really it's only the dragon set that seems low, given how nice and part-intensive the dragon looks, but I imagine $25 might cover it so it's not off by much. In any case, still digging it a lot! Just wish there were some elves & dwarves in the mix
  2. A couple TRUs near me had the Micro Fighters TIE Interceptor for $9.99 for months after they'd raised the rest to $10.99. I think they finally changed it, but it was odd. Had it been $6.99 I might have a little chibi 181st squadron going on
  3. I saw someone use Squidward's head for one recently, as well as CMF Medusa's. I used a spare Lady Liberty head for a less-fierce orc lady. I'm tempted to do up a bunch of orc face stickers based on some fun yellow faces, just with red eyes and maybe tusks. There are also a couple Frankenstein's Monster heads that make good black-eyed orcs, and those Mandrake Baby heads from Harry Potter (pricey as they are)
  4. It's from Atlantis & the POTC Fountain of Youth sets
  5. Like others, I'm really digging this wave. Gotta get several Huns to have a squad of them as well as extras to lend their parts to other warrior-types, a couple Battle Goddesses, couple Princesses, at least one Wizard, a few Space Miners, a few Prospectors... Really only the Lifeguard and Gamer aren't screaming "useful" to me.
  6. Needs more dwarves! ...and elves. ...and...something in addition to orcs to add to the enemy roster. Kobolds? Stumpy little goblins? Dark elves? Dragonkin? My insatiable appetite for expanding a reborn Fantasy theme aside, this is looking pretty awesome! Love the figs and the builds! That crossbow is terrific! I just saved 15% on exclamation points by switching to GEICO!
  7. Someone pointed out that it looks like Kanan has dark brown hair in the Wookiee gunship set while in the Ghost set it kinda looks like his hair is black (I don't have it yet and BL hasn't posted inventories of all the figures). Someone else wondered in the Rumors thread if Ezra might get blue hair; I'm kind hoping they do give him (dark) blue hair in a future set. It's a little odd, but could be a fun piece to use. Perhaps in that future set he'll also get a new element to serve as his unique saber hilt?
  8. I'm annoyed at TCW being canceled, too, but Rebels hardly looks like "typical Disney kid stuff". If you look at the figs in the Ghost/Phantom/Wookiee Gunship sets, you'll see they're printed more like the movie figures.
  9. Sorry, I guess I wasn't clear enough... The Clone Wars Z-95 is still canon, but the versions from the rest of the EU aren't... Those designs were generally based on the McQuarrie X-wing, while TCW's only used the McQ one as a design springboard. Tons of folks responded to the X-wing in the video by stubbornly calling it a Z-95--which it was, before the whole "EU is now Legends"--but now only TCW's version is canon. AFAIK, the EU as a whole is being ignored in the sequels, tho I hope elements will continue to bleed into it as they have since the SEs. Like, no Thrawn (since 30 years later is too late to bring him in) but maybe the Chiss show up as a species, maybe one is a secondary character. That kinda thing. But I'm still hoping for new, non-Imperial baddies. Leave the Imps to the REBELS series & the Lego sets based on it (and the OT).
  10. I'm hoping the rumors of Stormies in EpVII are false; I love the Empire, but let it die! It should've floundered and decayed without the Sith running things, like in the EU, and not be a threat 30 years later. Then we could get NEW baddies (and their troops) in VII. Anyhoo, seeing MicroFighters mentioned in the news/rumors thread, my hopes for more were rekindled. The rest of the OT fighters, a Jawa in a chibi Sandcrawler, the Tantive IV with Captain Antilles, some PT fighters, etc... and while a longshot, I'd love to see some EU ships, too. Hound's Tooth with Bossk, Moldy Crow with Kyle Katarn, Ebon Hawk with just about anyone (tho HK-47 would be my top pick), Jade Shadow (or a now-noncanon Z-95 which is now the EpVII X-wing) with Mara Jade, KOTOR Sith Interceptor with a shiny Sith Trooper, TIE Predator with Imperial Knight Antares Draco, the Mynock with Cade Skywalker, etc. Just about any EU ship & character would be preferable to me to getting more Anakin's, Obi-Wans, Lukes, Vaders, etc.
  11. I've only really seen the AAT, Turbo Tank, and occasionally the Falcon sitting around. I love the ones I've nabbed (all the OT ones) and hope we get a B-wing, Y-wing (with another Gray Squadron pilot maybe), A-wing, Sandcrawler (affordable Jawa!), etc. The fewer major characters, the better, but there's TONS of potential with this line (EbonHawkMoldyCrowEbonHawk)
  12. It's 14 years after ROTS, the Wookiees took what they learned from the Clone Wars and probably several years of Imperial oppression and turned their delicate-looking vehicles of ROTS into something more formidable. There! That's my story and I'm sticking to it. ...until/unless they reveal it's a ship they stole from the slavers that had initially captured them. Not crazy about the price, but maybe it'll be on one of those nice sales at Target or TRU to bring it down to $50-55. Still wishing they'd cave in & use the Toy Story arms & legs for Wookiees. They're among the tallest visible SW species and as minifigs they can't even turn their heads, give them a break!!
  13. Um...Yippee? "$100 or even less" is hardly pleasing to hear for most fans. At least I can be pleased that the Batmobile doesn't really appeal to me
  14. Perhaps Hagrid and the troll were missed because they (like Dogpound & Leatherhead) use at least some regular minifig parts?
  15. Just because the EpVII X-wing is based on the McQuarrie art doesn't mean it's "older" in-universe. Rebels will likely have OT style X-wings (as fairly new ships) if they appear at all, and maybe junkie old Z-95s from TCW. I look forward to how TLG will handle the build of the unusual split design in the S-foils of this new version. Very excited to see this build!
  16. You have to put them on the internet first, like uploading them to Flickr or something. Can't share something directly off your laptop for reasons that should be obvious.
  17. It's a link nobody but you can see. Try Flickr or any number of other image hosting sites; a link from your mail account won't work!
  18. Yeah, I see no prob with the yellow. WoW is an MMORPG, and that's clearly a paladin-type casting the spell which would be yellow in that game. You should have your rogue & pally assault Combee's Ogre Encampment, show Mega Bloks how it's done! (MB did some nice WoW stuff, but it's still MB... and they never made dwarves or trolls, which I really wanted to see)
  19. Have you checked out the Troll Town thread? It shows a lot of the potential of the Fantasy trolls/orcs. Doing the same for dwarves could be fun, even the skeleton armies might like to have a town of their own for laughs Then you can add in elves in you want, whether gathering the CMF Elf and customizing it into a range of figures or maybe just getting LOTR/Hobbit Elves for a wider range (their fleshie heads could easily be work because they aren't human). In any case, doing your own thing should give you years of fun building potential!
  20. There is a vast world of difference between saying "I can't get Bizarro/Phoenix/etc, so you shouldn't be able to Bizarro/Phoenix/etc either" and "I can't get Bizarro/Phoenix/etc, they should make Bizarro/Phoenix/etc available for anyone/everyone to purchase."
  21. But they're not a gift… they're a prize. Only a few people can get them at SDCC, out of the thousands that will try to get 'em. And in order to get the chance to get them, you may have to wait for several hours in lines, ignoring all the other stuff SDCC has to offer (much of it also requiring hours-long waits in lines). So even if you're responsible with your finances and save up for a trip across country or around the world to attend SDCC, there's zero guarantee you'll get one of the exclusive figures--let alone all of them--when you arrive. Some "gift"! The analogy of a child throwing a tantrum about some other kid getting a toy they didn't is flawed, because generally in those situations the toy the other kid got is something readily available at any store. Not so, in this case; it's "exclusive" and will cost you several hundred dollars on the aftermarket. Which Lego supposedly hates. That situation mostly benefits the sellers, and the few people desperate enough to pay their prices. The absolute best way to handle exclusives is PACKAGING. Especially if the idea that Lego employees favored giving winning tickets to primarily kids turned out to be true; the kids aren't gonna care spit about the packaging, and will just play with the figure, and likewise won't be upset in the least that their 'precious exclusive' is also in that $50 set being released in January or whatever. The only ones who'd be upset at the exclusives being available in other affordable ways later on are the types who crave that "#3 out of 200" feeling, the ones who want their precious snowflake item to be unattainable by others…and the ones who feel it'll hurt their profit potential when they try to sell their SDCC figures if the character's released in the same print in a set several months later.
  22. I kinda do, too, but they weren't super-appealing sets aside from the minifigs (and I'd rather the faces were in more traditional licensed-style prints… the big eyes didn't work so well for many of 'em, IMO. For those who haven't seen the show, one major aspect of the Avatar world is lots of the animals are combos, like "polar bear dog" or "armadillo lion" or "otter penguin". A fun excuse to do up cool/cute animal combos of various types!
  23. I agree! Elements of Western, Victorian-era, sci-fi, fantasy all mixed together… you could even throw dinosaurs into the mix (taking an airship to a 'lost world').
  24. Nobody wants a "true" exclusive, tho, as that just draws scalpers. Exclusive packaging is enough to satisfy the vast majority. With Saruman, anyone can buy Orthanc. It's not a cheap set, but you're not just buying it for Saruman's dress piece… Bard, if it's as you describe, would cost you hundreds just for printed legs. Who seriously wants to deal with that?
  25. Polar bearDOG, that is! Awesome job with that! If Ninjago went away, I'd love a Korra theme to replace it. Elemental powers, marital arts, cool vehicles and temples, Korra's got it!
