"-The Outrider (Kyle Katarn, Leebo)" I think you mean Dash Rendar

As a war(s) among the stars, TOR probably does deliver more than the movies (aside from ROTS' glimpses of multiple battlefields across the galaxy). He kinda explained that, so what he said was true... from a certain point of view. I liked the color scheme of Anakin's fighter the best, but the design irked me. Too slapdash. Seeing Plo Koon's Lego Delta-7B, the build doesn't look as nice as Saesee Tiin's fighter (the only Lego 7B I own), but still a nice color scheme. I got both the ROTS and TCW Hasbro versions of Plo's fighters, still two of faves. If the Azure Angel set is good with the build and figures, and if there seems way to make it a regular Delta-7B, I'll happily pick it up!

"movies first" quickly gets old. Should we be expected to cheer for minifigures of every denizen of the Outlander Club before they even consider an HK-47 or Imperial Knight? Every patron of the Cantina, including Stripey Robe Dude and That Spaceman You Barely See A Sliver Of before a Tycho Celchu or Zayne Carrick? Another problem with "movie first" is it's a never-ending cycle... they'll keep tweaking build designs and re-releasing existing ships over and over... tweaking prints & updating figures over and over. I get that it's because this is primarily a kid-targeted product, and remaking sets every so often allows the next generation to pick up popular, iconic vehicles, buildings, characters. This is what toy-loving EU fans have to contend with every day. But I'd much rather get major characters from the EU than an endless parade of tweaked extras, or Han with a fancier vest (now with even more pockets!). I love getting movie characters, I really do... I nabbed two Weequay Guards even tho I don't yet own Jabba's Sail Barge because I had that figure as a kid (and turned the spare Lego one into a wrong-color-but-it'll-do Weequay Skiff Master). I love that stuff.

The only obstacles I can think of for KOTOR/TOR becoming canon are the "Vector" arc maybe (since it started in the KOTOR comics, went into Dark Times & Rebellion, and then into Legacy, and I think had a 'flash-forward' Force-vision that may have contained some non-canon stuff--but that's easy enough to explain away as "always in motion, is the future") and if one specific rumor of the myriad rumors about the sequels turns out to be true: that the Sith only came into being 2000 years ago, via Darth Ruin--rather than were reorganized/reborn by Ruin as the EU currently has it. If that was the case, having Sith 3000+ years before the films would thus be non-canon... but even the EU has the Sith rise & fall repeatedly, so unless they're very, very specific about it in the movies & accompanying media, the window should still be open for KOTOR/TOR and all its Sith Lords to be part of the canon. I hope they do canonize it; at least something will survive of the EU besides the dribs & drabs that were included in the movies. It'd be nice to get more TOR sets, and some KOTOR (comics and game) ones as well. Who wouldn't want a Mandalorian Battle Pack with Neo Crusaders, or with a few different Mandos of various species as in the comics?

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion
Venkefedo replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
The X-Jet one is the classic Cyclops, unless you only consider "original X-Men" Cyke where they all wore matching blue-black & yellow outfits. The X-Jet one is what Cyke wore for much of the '70s into the '80s, in Giant Size X-Men, in the Dark Phoenix Saga, etc... Doesn't get much more classic than that. -
Ugh. That's a horrible thing for them to do... so many characters didn't get their due! Hasbro had an entire Comic Pack line yet never bothered to make the lead character of the KOTOR comic; fans voted for Jedi Mara Skywalker but Hasbro said "designers, do what you want" so we got another Emperor's Hand catsuit Mara (that we'd already gotten twice before!), the Comic Pack Grand Admiral Thrawn was based on a piece of artwork showing a completely different non-Imperial-cut uniform, etc. And there are lots of sets & figures Lego could make from the EU that would be amazing to see... I guess we can only hope that the new EU going forward will incorporate ships, aliens, and characters (in looks, if not in name/history/etc) from the Legends stuff, both as nods to the fans who supported & enjoyed that stuff for the last 2+ decades and so they can maybe become toys.

Season 2 Fordo's a bit trickier, as you need a Neyo/Saleucami clone helmet with Rex-style jaig-eyes and a unique torso print for his bandolier.
-
Barely! It's like Quinlan Vos, sorta... he's in the movie, but if you give him a saber suddenly he's the EU version. I'm not sure you can even see any Imperial insignia on the Imp V-wings at the end of ROTS, just an overall impression that they're gray. Both Quin and that V-wing are blink-and-miss types...
-
It's an odd choice, but maybe someone at Lego loves that ship, and/or Lucasfilm maybe isn't that concerned whether licensees make Legends merchandise. That could be a great thing, as Hasbro and Lego can still make cool EU characters/ships/etc for the fans!

I'm glad to see dark tan as ground, too... I seem to have tons of dark tan plates (if only there were more dark tan hands!)- 28 replies

New LEGO Fantasy Theme -- A MOC Series
Venkefedo replied to Nuju Metru's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Looks dark green... No design apparent under the armor indent... Could be the CMF Elf Warrior or the Green Dragon wizard, with the torso flipped so the design's hidden on the back. Not sure what other dark green torsos are out there (probably several) -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13 Rumours and Discussion
Venkefedo replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Dwarf centaur! Good idea... They might be able to make a centaur body smaller than a regular Lego horse. No reason Lego centaurs can't be smaller than their equine brethren... And then it'd be able to fit in a blind bag. (That said, I hope BF makes more, and/or that other vendors have plenty of stock at brick conventions... I'd still like to get a couple) -
Age of Mitgardia - Barracks Phase 2 - Shield Wall

First I've (knowingly) seen that warhammer design; even if you didn't create it, I'm glad you gave it more visibility! Gonna have to throw some of those into my dwarven ranks (the Dwarven Mine-style hammers can get cumbersome, quickly, fun as they are). Very (non-Marvel) Thor-like! Cool training ground, too! Nice use of the big disc-shields.- 28 replies

They might, considering most sets from the early part of this year were ROTS-based.
-
Also, it's not a comic book. "A New Dawn" is the first of the new "all-canon, all the time" Expanded Universe novels. From this book on, every SW novel (barring young-reader type stuff, I imagine) is canon; likewise with the upcoming Marvel SW comics, I think. The only other recent publication that might sneak into the new canon is Dark Horse's "Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir" mini, as it was based on un-produced story ideas for TCW (un-produced because the show was prematurely canceled, not because the scripts were rejected). Careful there...sounds like you're arguing that we should hardly get any stormtroopers at all, ever, outside of large sets or BPs! That's just crazy-talk!
-
Now is it okay to complain if/when future REBELS sets still have stylized stormies from the Ghost set instead of OT-style as they should be? Just seems silly to have (so far) everyone else able to blend in with movie figures, while the stormtroopers will stick out (at least a little)... sorta the opposite of TCW figures in a way (where only the troopers--and a handful of nonhumans--blended in with movie figures)

Again, tho, there are so many Star Wars characters to choose from, the "rare figs are used to sell sets" excuse doesn't wash. They can deliver multiple waves of SW CMFs and still keep plenty of figures aside to help sell sets. And think about the main characters... from the OT alone, there are still some notable absences: Bespin Luke and Dagobah Luke in fleshie form, Han with his Endor trenchcoat (which would likely just be printed), Endor Luke (with or without helmet), DSII Luke (Ewok Village gave us the 'flap-down' version from when he was fried by Palpatine on to the end of the film, but the flap-up version from the actual duel hasn't been done), hooded/caped Jabba's Palace Luke (easily made ourselves, but you know what I mean), they can probably still milk a couple more Hoth Han variations, a few Leias still to be tackled, etc. R2 & 3PO could have "restraining bolt" variations (I know at least 3PO already exists that way), a Battle Damaged R2 print could be done. Bottom line, with some creative thought (and not even much), Lego can lay down several series' worth of CMFs and set figures with little to no overlap for years to come...and CMFs may be the only chance of getting certain characters or variations in the next 10-15 years.
-
I was just suggesting that there are enough characters in the Cantina to potentially fill a CMF series, not that they should do that... some may not be the most exciting characters, true, but Doc Evazan & Ponda Baba are key characters, having an official Wuher would give you a bartender for your Cantina set, Hrchek Kal Fas is just a cool looking alien and a way to reuse the Bossk head mold... and whether obscure movie extras (within reason) or even EU characters, it wouldn't matter if kids or parents didn't recognize the characters, they'd still be cool Imperials, Jedi, aliens, troopers, etc, and the bios of the figures on the Lego website would take care of the rest.
-
Possibly, but most likely it'll be the red astromech, battle-damaged Microseries Anakin (not the Nelvaan one), and a more Microseries-style Ventress (white eyes)

I've only got one gnome minifig so far, and he's a paladin (an idea I've been enabled with since a couple WoW expansions ago when they were talking about new classes available to various races; paladins didn't make the cut for gnomes, but I was excited for the idea). I'm not sure how I want my gnomes to all look, either... only so many times one can use the Mad Scientist head & hair for crazy gnomish inventors. But I agree, any tech of theirs would have to be built "right", which could be tricky.
-
Ah, but the clones depicted in the set aren't Season 2 TCW clones, they look like Phase II and Kashyyyk-style clones (I know: preliminary! But they have the Geonosis camo on them which looks a little more 'final')

It's on his BL store... and it is pretty horrendous, but for all we know that was his first-ever helmet. His pharaoh headdress looks good, and the Elendil & Isildur helms look cool.

There is no rumored Cloud City. There is a rumored big Death Star-esque set, and there is a new Slave I... Anything else is people around this forum connecting dots that may have nothing to do with each other. The Senate Commandos set is canceled, but remember: this very catalog is where we first heard of it. Hulk_Smash saw the catalog, but also learned that set was canceled at the same time. I chalk up Endor to filming problems... They didn't do a great job depicting the ferocity and numbers of the savage Ewoks, nor did they even come close to depicting a "legion" of Imperial troops, unless "legion" means "a few dozen" in Palpatine-speak. Given the dead Rebels lying on the battlefield, and Leia getting shot, I imagine the stormies weren't under any "let them go" orders like on the Death Star and Cloud City.
-
No, Jek-14's fighter is normally $70... ...okay, TLG designers might drawers full of every currently produced minifigure piece... but what about prints went out of production? Maybe THAT is why it doesn't say "new figure" and has a preliminary fig... It'll be an old print, they just didn't have any on hand!

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion
Venkefedo replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
At first I thought "bigfig Colossus? No, minifig would be better!" but between Nightcrawler sitting on his shoulder and the idea of how ridiculous a Fastball Special would look with minifig Pete tossing minifig Logan, the bigfig version won me over. Also, Agent Coulson needs to be in a set ASAP. As do all the other unproduced or SDCC-only characters.
