Castle Advent Calendar - traditionalists
The Rancor replied to brickzone's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Well, I had no missing parts, and only one extra sword. I don't know what'll be in tomorrow. It might be the witch or troll, but I'm not going to search for myself. So far, I find the contents of the calendar very useful, especially the amount of weapons which I can use with my other castle sets. -
For all intense and purposes, TLG has called the special Clone, a Clone Gunner, so I'll call him that from now on. Gotta agree with everyone else, the balck accessories are cool, but where are the sets with guns for the gunners?
-
I for one don't really care for the piece per price ratio, but I can offer some ducated guesses for the new set prices: 6239: Cannon Battle: £3.99 6240: Kraken Attackin': £6.99 6241: Loot Island: £14.99 6242: Soldier's Fort: £39.99 6243: Brickbread's Bounty: £69.99 Now, just give us the sets please! The clone battle pack as 3 ordinary clones (one of which can be promoted to captain/commander status) It also includes an AT-TE pilot, with the Green and Gold markings. I think the droids in the Hyena Droid are just called jet droids or something similar.

Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures...
The Rancor replied to The Kid's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Right! Time to revive this thread for the Christmas special! I saw the trailer on Children In Need - It looked very cheap! - A Cyber head coming out from a door? WTF? It's nice to see they've tied ina paradox again, the other main character will be The Doctor too! The villian will be an evil woman who uses children as slaves (Reminiscient of the 1700s/1800s) Somehow the Cybermen are connected with the Industial Revolution - Allies of the evil mistress. Unfortunately I won't be able to see the Christmas Special on Christmas day, but I'll record it and get back here when I've seen it! -
I too second Darth Caedus' statement. I cannot provide an answer for the US, but it seems likely the sets might come out early because you already have Pirates, City, Creator and Racers. In the Uk we have nothing, as of yet. (I checked my local TRU yesterday)

You've now entered the realm of 'Count-dom'! Congrats I haven't ever really been a fan of anything made before the 90s, but I haven't really listened to certain bands to be fair (not Metallica) I don't like the Beatle that much, but if I ever listen to other music from that period, it pales in comparison
-
That's my dream too. Guess I'll have to prove myself useful first
-
I never once thought that. Postal always seems to suck from time to time everywhere. And, yes, I hope you do win the Ptv contest... ...Not because of the thread though
-
No, not really! (I hope I spot Impulse sets on the corner of my TRU isle soon, because I'm running out of time to buy anything!)
-
The Death Star is now £270 instead of £300 thanks to decreased VAT, incase anyone wanted one with a £30 reduction. I don't think this year's sets were disappointing. My only gripe is that there should have been some CHEAP sets in the Summer!!!
-
One package for me then please
-
Considering this topic is called TRU Uk... My local TRU has a massive selection of Lego (almost too much to be sold) I was weighing all my Christmas presents and cash for a massive Lego fest before Christmas with 09 sets... ... it doesn't look hopeful because there's no room on the shelves for 2009 sets! But I want them. P.S: I have Big Rig. One of my favourite creator sets ever with those details.
-
It seems as if we're lacking a store like Target. We've pretty much only got TRUs (Unless you're near the pitiful number of locations of Lego Stores, which I'm almost as far away in the Uk as possible!) I haven't been into Woolworths lately, but I agree, everything's always overpriced, except the sets no one ever wants. When the Woolwrths exclusive Droid Gunship came out in the summer, I had to fork out £34.99 instead of £24.99 (Didn't know price then) By the way, as a sidenote, my TRU is full to bursting with Lego on the shelves (some very old, like Jayko the knight action figure ) My hopes aren't too high for any pre-2009 releases!

I haven't personally ever used bricklink, but it's nice to see another member join from the Uk, so welcome simplybricks/Emma.
-
I voted no. I just wish TLG would release a more mature theme including proper sets and minifigs! Bionicles just sit there for me and I never use parts because they are too big for any of my other creations (mostly)
-
OMG THAT'S GOOD!!!
-
Only a simple error I don't have a particular favourite band or singer because I listen to so much different music. My favourite themes of music though are R n B and modern rock/metal, also alternative. Here are the people I listen to most: Gorillaz (favourite: Kids with Guns) Pendulum (Fave: Slam) Rihanna (Fave: Live Your Life) Usher (Fave: Luv In This Club)

Those are some awesome sets! Congratulations to the latest winners (and the main winner The Cobra)

Power Miners: New Sets for 2009
The Rancor replied to cartoondude's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Yeah, it's been mentioned. Not much there but a pretty rubbish game (by TLW (the lego website's) standards) and weird items telling you what the monsters are like. Why playful and sly monsters? What's happened to evil? -
I checked (I think) all of the themes and some new city sets are available (construction and farm). The only sets I see at the moment are the dump truck and site for construction, and only the pony wagon for farm. I can also obviously see the Pirates (which a new T-Shirt has been added). I can finally see that most, if not all of the January Racers are on S@H USA as well ( )
-
That's a good request I unfortunately can't answer, but I'm surprised someone hasn't done that yet. (P.S: don't strike me down if this ahs already happened!)

Buy 2009 LEGO Pirates from S@H or Toys R Us
The Rancor replied to General Armendariz's topic in LEGO Pirates
It's odd that the fort and shipwreck hideout aren't there yet, they're on the cache! -
Seems like it, your avatar is small enough (100x96). Congrats to the proud owners-to-be of the prizes yesterday and today. I didn't really get round to posting here before. I wonder what the future of advent holds? EDIT: Thinking of avatars, mine is now slightly bigger and is 100x100 ! I much prefer it now actually!
