  1. Have you ever gone to SDCC? By being aware of it's existence (before the event occurs) and not spending money on travel, hotel, and tickets you have made the decision to not spend money to attend for whatever reason. The only exception is for people who do not know of SDCC. Some people don't have internet and don't live near a LEGO store. Does that mean that LEGO should make GWPs and other LEGO Store Exclusives available at all their distributors? How are SDCC figs different from LEGO Store Exclusives? I don't have the opportunity to visit Denmark and do the tour for the gift or to buy the LEGO House poly bag. Does that mean LEGO should assist me in getting those by releasing it to places I can go to? It does not. Your tone makes you sound like a grade A jerk.
  2. You are entitled to an opinion. You are not entitled to have the opportunity to own the figure. Do not mix those two up. Your purchase history has nothing to do with this argument at all. LEGO already has GWPs on a monthly basis. You ARE getting freebies already fro how much you spend (If you by directly from them). What data are you basing this paragraph from. Just because AFOLs are the loudest doesn't mean they are the biggest demographic. AFOLs are WAY less than %50 of the customers. I am willing to be they are close to around %10. 1 person yelling really loud doesn't counter the 99 who hold the opposite opinion. If you think that this situation will cause LEGO to go in the red and/or lose customers, you are hilariously mistaken. As a business they are very well aware of their profits and spending. With the VIP and other surveys they know where the product is going to (Kids, adults, teens). Those two combined, they create a business plan that hopefully grows the company so that they may bring a better product to us. We don't have access to their finances, who know if they worked in exclusives and possible set releases of those exclusives. 5 year plan? 10 year plan? That requires LEGO publicizing things they never will, so we will never know. The people at LEGO corporate offices know how to run the company better than we do. If your thoughts do not align with their thoughts, there isn't much you can do. If it annoys you that much stop buying LEGO. Like you said, if people are mad enough that they no longer shop with the company, and those lost customers have an impact, LEGO will do something. Until then. LEGO can do whatever they want. You are not entitled to have any exclusive in your collection.
  3. Is this a specific issue with this store? Are employees telling you that you filled it up too high, and as a result doing what you said you were? It is s store by store case whether or not a specific cup would be accepted or not. My store had no restrictions on the horses, other stores set limits and you could only put the horses in small cups. If it fits in the cup legally like you say it does, why are you doing that? Are you doing this because it gives you a rush or something? You are causing employees to waste time cleaning up a mess when they could be assisting you or other guests. Your strategy gains you nothing and only causes employees to do work that isn't needed. You are either trolling us or you are a grade A jerk. That is NOT a legitimate method.
  4. AFOLs are definitely the minority. LEGO is sold at the exact same price point already (within the same currency at least). The thing that changes the price by region is tax. LEGO does not receive the tax. LEGO can not control tax. LEGO will loose money if they alter the price because of regional taxes and would have to hire staff to keep track of the tax. ITT: If I ran LEGO the company would go bankrupt very fast and the company would be liquidated or sold to someone else.
  5. So you pay for the cup, remove the tape, and fill it up with more bricks before you leave the store...? If it fits in the cup , why not fill it up and pay for it and leave like everyone else?
  6. You will not unless your order included the Mini Cooper. The offer for July was for people who bought the Mini Cooper set also got the mini Mini Cooper. After August 1st you get the mini Mini Copper for any purchase over $100 USD.
  7. Flock of seagulls. Herd of cows. Quiver of Cobras. ____ of minifigs. What should the group name of minifigs be? I think it should be plastic. A plastic of minifigs.
  8. It is entirely possible that the 4chan post was a prank. All of you seemed to jumped off the bridge from a photo that can be staged.
  9. I'm guessing that is the Chima Skunk.
  10. I've gotten screened for drugs when I brought juggling balls once. I assumed it was the plastic beads inside and the broken stitching the prompted it.
  11. Are you saying that if I made a singular thread, "Poll: Should LEGO continue to make LOTR themed sets after the movies are done?" people would only vote yes and the only setting where they would show their true opinion is in this thread? I think a better approach for this thread is to follow threads with polling statistics and then create an analysis such that you could determine the most likely held opinions per user. Since we are able to see who voted for what, we could come to some conclusions such as, "60% of those who want a return of classic space also want a return of Vikings themed sets." Post similar assessments like the above here. That is WAY more interesting and provides a nice picture of the average user on this site. Get some Baye's Theorem and conditional probability up in here. I will be doing that when I have free time.
  12. Isn't that more about sea life getting caught on the plastic where it chokes them or prevents them from moving causing death? I'm almost positive for these LEGO parts, the fish that ate them never died from them. I don't think that these plastic parts harmed coral life down there either. Either way, it's sad that the plastic was lost at sea.
  13. A better solution is having polls be available to all users so these threads are not made.
  14. I have always wondered if people who carry PaB cups on carry ons get searched...
  15. I am for drilling in places like the Dakotas and Alaska, or any land based operation. I have done zero research on Arctic drilling, so I have no clue about the plan to do so and I do not have an opinion. I do lean towards being fine with that. I am also for finding better renewable resources that ARE MORE EFFICIENT AND LESS DRAINING ON MY WALLET. Which the majority of renewable will be in the future when better energy conversions are found.
  16. Might as well do BP too.
  17. Here is a 5 page thread about the subject: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=97291 It basically is this: Shell wants to drill in the arctic. Greenpeace does not want them to drill in the arctic. Shell apparently has a bad rep for drilling in Alaska. Even though LEGO and Shell have had marketing connections dating back decades, GP believes that Shell is using LEGO to improve their brand image. GP is also upset because LEGO has ended partnerships with companies due to environmental reasons and they think LEGO should do the same with Shell. IMO it doesn't make sense to end this partnership because I assume LEGO gets their plastic via ways that involve Shell.
  18. I would say do a separate thread for each MOC just don't make over 2 threads a day. Space the threads out a little.
  19. If all we are talking about is torso ptinting, why were heads even meantioned?
  20. My first entry.
  21. Never MOC sober.
  22. If the only reason is because Royal Shell and LEGO happen to be in Denmark, then sure parting ways makes sense based on the planet promise. However, if there is other business deals based on Shell giving the oil to a plastic making company and that plastic making company giving LEGO the plastic, or Shell directly giving LEGO oil for production then parting ways makes zero sense. they would have to go through another oil company somehow and the cost for the plastic will probably change.
