Indeed. Stacking some sets with animals is a definite trend, across themes. Also great to see the inclusivity commitment coming through with more wheelchair users and the new prosthetic leg! Also, given the *ahem* issues with revamped Bricks n Pieces, I think the animal-heavy sets will be big sellers.

One of the Stuntz sets has two ‘normal’ sharks, though they don’t have eyes. That may be a misprint. meanwhile Friends gets a new full size giraffe, and a recoloured foal as a zebra. Aaaaand duplo has all of those wildlife sets which feature a host of new-to-Duplo animals, including: koala, red panda, raccoon, alpaca, sloth, sea turtle and what appears to be new moulds for crocodile and penguins phew. Word. that Wildlife Mission set is great though. Who could have predicted that mix of (that many) animals?! No new moulds, but some sorely needed new versions. Interestingly, the ‘black panther cub’ on one of the graphic illustrated images for the set, appears as a dark version of a puma cub. But in the pics it’s definitely a black cub. Pumas don’t actually exist as fully black cats like jaguars and leopards … but styling that as a puma would set the set in the Americas (gators/puma/owl/hare). With it being a black panther - I guess that makes it more ambiguous overall, aaaaaand it raises the question, will we see the adult black panther reappear somewhere soon? It hasn’t been in sets for several years, and we don’t typically see baby animals in City without adult counterparts.

Woohoo new animals! Wildlife mission set has baby croc in lime green, adult croc in green, hare (HP mould) in brown, a brown flying owl, and what seems to be a baby black panther. The reddish brown husky reappears too in another set

Think that’s a baby black panther. Hare is recolour of HP patronus. Baby croc in lime is new, as is the flying brown owl. Brown husky is a reuse, but welcome

That’s a good misprint - you can create unique eyes!

Yikes.the risk you take when you can’t manhandle the pockets! I got a whole set ahead of official release here in U.K. - they are soooooo good. Only slight meh issue is Beaker’s coat and Bunsen’s head being the same colour … I get why, but it’s not ideal.

Best way to be disappointed

I hear ya - I half expected the pick up truck set to be a bit of a tease for that. of course we may see some proper old timey farmer or animal handlers in the big 90th anniversary castle …

I’ve found the light bley, dk orange tabby, and the dark bley exclusive cat in BAMs fairly regularly. Light bley is rarest in my experience. Yes. We also need a fox to sort out that lame chicken coop

Just seen this. I squeed at the barn set - so many animals! And that fleece part is genius. Glad that they went with totally new colours for the cows. Plus all the plant parts are just great. Right? lego city consumes way too many sausages and bananas …

Yeah it’s a bit odd. I don’t really get why they make some so very specific to species (such as the snowy, barn and great grey owls - which are amazingly accurate and recognisable), and some they just seem to make up. If anything, seems like a waste of a specific print - why not just reuse an existing one on a new colour mould? I am checking to see if it corresponds to an actual species, but nothing is jumping out.

Love that new hairpiece - I’d bank on it just being a straight up shield maiden figure.

I think the thing with the farm sets being 4+ is largely down to that being such a ‘young audience’ theme. Would be kinda odd to have a whole slew of farm based sets with major appeal to young kids that was marketed above their age range …

There’s a photo, so it seems to be legit. Tan body, quite big eyes and bushy black printing around them, all the way down to and including the beak. Brown patch between the eyes, and light grey chest feather print, with brown highlights It’s a very different looking owl print from others we have had, to me at least.

Welcome new owl versions - but seems they have a haphazard strategy about patterns and recognisable species

Loving the not-so-subtle inclusion of very inclusive and fabulous torsos in City of late.

Intriguing that it’s reportedly a double sided model (chambers inside) and represents the original white-clad pyramid as it would have been … definitely a departure for architecture sets
