  1. IIRC it first appeared in the Lego Ideas ‘Old Fishing Store’
  2. Niche perhaps, but YES!
  3. Lol. Was thinking about this when I saw the upcoming Turkey costume figure’s new tail piece … which I think will be reused as a peacock costume some time
  4. Lol, not used to anyone enforcing rules in this thread! Usually a lot more easy going … (says me after listing dozens of animals I want)
  5. Tbh I can’t see them changing the standard penguin unless they are trying to do a rockhopper with the yellow crest. Think the general public couldn’t tell the difference mostly!
  6. To be honest I think that depends on the quality of the sets. They don’t need to go overboard with new animals, as they can use existing 🐍🐊🦜, so just need to add a kangaroo and koala maybe. They also could do coast or sea-based sets with sharks and turtles.
  7. Thanks for this question, it’s a fun thing to ponder, and I will try and whittle down my vast list of animals required. I think my list is only beaten by Noah’s checklist on the ark. 🤣 or maaaaaybe @Roebuck’s Overall I think we have been poorly served on a few animal fronts. First, there are too many similar carnivores, and not enough herbivores; secondly, there are a slew of really obvious animals that just haven’t happened, like crow/raven, pigeon, duck which is odd; thirdly, many *entire continents* are poorly represented, South America and Asia basically only have one region specific animal mould/print each, and Australia has none at all, and; lastly, there are a bunch of familiar farm and what used to be called ‘beasts of burden’ are inexplicably missing - obviously the goat and camels are a rarity, but we have no llama, no yak, no donkeys, no bull! As a rabid Scotsman I *want* to opt for a very specific list - Highland Cow, Shetland Pony, Puffin, Seal and Beaver, but I’m gonna throw that away for my ultimate pick, which is 1. Moose 2. Bison 3. Wolf 4. Crow/Raven (Craven!) 5. (perched) Eagle. I would see the Moose & Bison come with a small wave of ‘Park Ranger‘ sets, kinda based on a Yellowstone National Park idea, and borrowing from previous Forest Police, and Wildlife Rescue set ideas. This would allow for a variety of vehicles, some great scenery and building builds, and various figures from the rangers to tourists etc. The wolf, craven & eagle could also be used in that theme, as could many existing critters like the stag, squirrel, owls, bears, skunk etc BUT I would see those coming first in CMFs. Perhaps - Craven with a Viking king or a sorceress Wolf with a ‘ranger’ like Jon Snow from Game of Thrones, or a jungle boy as per @Robert8’s series Z Eagle with a Mongolian eagle hunter figure (perched eagle mould could also come as a solid colour for a Roman standard bearer, or with a ‘Zeus’ figure.) … and then I can get all the other ones I mentioned the next year, right? RIGHT?
  8. Checked out BAM in a couple of U.K. stores this week and was nice to find some older CMF torsos. As well as the Viking already shared, the Celtic Battler from s5 was available, as was the gnome from s4.
  9. Really nice to have a variant on the wheelchair, and a new colour!
  10. Yesh. The pith helmet was intolerable! I’m excited for new Indy sets - and wondering what we might see from the new movie too, and also what sets we didn’t get from the originals. wondering whether any of the newer animals 🐘🦁🐒🐍 might make an appearance in these sets as well. I’m still holding out hope for a nice big circus train set from the prologue of Crusade, would be the perfect opportunity to give us a giraffe and have some fun play features.
  11. No, the dark ages have begun. Zero animals in CMF23 …
  12. Something else that hasn’t been mentioned re cardboard packaging is that what we have seen (and also true of sets like the Disney Dots) is packaging that will require bigger boxes, and have gaps between packs, because of the necessary hang tags and other extraneous ‘bits’, and cardboard being rigid. So a lot more air will be being shipped. For me I guess I don’t feel surprised at this move, or especially worked up. Will it change how I buy CMFs? For sure. And as someone who likes being able to source the ones I want, or want for others, without opening the packing, it’s a bit of bummer.
  13. Oh it absolutely is. I try to be light-fingered, myself, but some people clearly use a lot of pressure and render the bags dented, sometimes torn. it’s not always, everywhere - but it does happen a lot.
  14. Agreed. Other ‘blind bag’ figures use this approach and I think it’s fine …
  15. We do need a minifig scaled LIVE turkey too.
  16. Cute that you call it ‘a’ colour, when in reality it’s several 😂
  17. Think it’s a shoo-in, given how they’ve designed it. I’d also like to see it in bright colours for a showgirl
  18. Lol the popcorn costume looks a bit meh. Also a bit odd that dragon suit is a pretty straight recolour rather than trying to use the Vidiyo wings or something. I predict that new ‘Turkey tail’ piece will be reutilised for a peacock suit _ and maybe a show girl variant
  19. Honestly I also don’t get this thing when someone perceives something unpopular so it can’t be revisited. Any theme could be redone with more effort and more shelf appeal a few years later.
  20. Yeah but c’mon, female warriors are fine if they are sexy babes designed for a straight male audience! Keep up.
  21. Hmm yeah I think that’s diminishingly hopeful. The walnut piece was in the original group shot, but obscured by the fairy wings. That said, recent costume characters *have* come with an extra hair piece, maybe we can hope for those …
