  1. i make the holes for the horns by sticking the horns into the head. then i pull them out and replace them with little balls of aluminum foil, so the holes don't collapse during the baking process. after baking, just pull out the aluminum foil and replace it with horns. voila!
  2. I wanted to add these to the original LEGO Heroes - Greece topic, but that topic is already jammed pack with pictures and such, and I think it would be inconsiderate to jam more into it. Therefore, I started a new topic. Minotaur: The head is entirely made of Sculpey, with BrickForge bull horns. The decals are mine, everything else is LEGO. Perspective view of the headpiece: Satyr: The horns are Sculpey on a Harry Potter headpiece. The decals are mine, everything else is LEGO. The next series of minifigs I will make for this theme will be for LEGO Heroes - China, which I will post within the next week, after I finish my midterm. Enjoy! ~ti7n
  3. when i made my possible themes, i was told that characters used in the Hercules Disney movie were not allowed, so I was wondering about your 'Pegasus Army' thing, since Pegasus played a big role in the Disney movie... also the goddess character and the three headed dog that you are planning on using might cause some problems. Also, you've got your mythology mixed up a bit. Pegasus was ONE horse, you can't have a "Pegasus Army". The technical term for the species is 'winged horses', Pegasus was just the most famous of the winged horses, which is why you probably thought it was it's own species. Pegasus was born from the neck of Medusa after it was slain by Perseus. When Perseus slayed Medusa, 2 winged horses were born from her neck, Pegasus, and his brother Chrysaor. So perhaps, instead of 'Pegasus Army', you can create a 'Winged Horse' army, where you use Pegasus, and Chrysaor. Assuming Pegasus is allowed in this contest of course. Sorry with the mythology lesson, but I minor in mythical/classical studies... and the Pegasus/winged horse mix up thing is one of my pet peeves. One last thing, your theme is Greek Mythology. But I can guarantee 100% that a unicorn is not found anywhere in Greek mythology. The Ancient Greeks really believed that unicorns were real creatures, and that they existed somewhere in India, so they weren't classified as mythical. They were mythical in Medieval Europe however.
  4. custom items on the entry figure only correct?
  5. ooh i like this one. i liked how you kept to the color scheme of the space police sets. great design!
  6. Bred in Hong Kong Grown in Vancouver I consider myself Almost Chinese, but partially Canadian.
  7. You know what this theme reminds me of? Osmosis Jones... that 'policing white blood cell' voiced by Chris Rock. Were you inspired by that? I think if those 'shrunken humans' were to ally with the different cells in the body (who are all humanized) to help fight the evil virus... that would be quite a theme!
  8. I'm Chinese, I know that. TECHNICALLY, Qing Dynasty is still part of Ancient China, since they still had Emperors. It's a more 'modernized' Ancient China... Modern China began in 1912, when the Republic of China took over.
  9. Cities are doing really well. At my 3 local TRUs, they get the biggest shelves, and are rarely completely stocked, they keep running out...
  10. haha, ya, did you draw that? i searched that from google, and kind of used it as more or less a template, sorry if i didn't credit you. Odysseus is actually the character in the picture, I tried to make the art and fig as similar as possible. once again, sorry i didn't credit you.
  11. I don't think TLG should pick up a specific license... instead of going for 'Batman' or 'Spider-Man', they should just do themes called 'DC' or 'Marvel'. Since there are so many cross-over stories in the comic book universe, by creating sets of a whole legion of comic book favourites would allow fans to create and re-enact so many of their favourite stories.
  12. JONAS!!??! Are you really old enough to be on this site? Please tell me you're joking... Seriously, I do not need to see Lego minifigs with... 'purity rings' (yes, I know about those... for some reason...) The Jonas Brothers and their rings can go shove it I will kill for the Kingdom Hearts sets though. I love the games with a passion. Imagine Sora & Cloud minifigs. just curious... is this true? or are you just stating what you believe TS sets will have?
  13. I personally think that Space Police will end. I love the minifigs, but besides the fresh selection of figs, i don't know what else is 'new' to the theme. Power Miners are practically over, unless they can create another faction of bad guys. The PMs have fought rock monsters, and crystal kings, what more can you get? Also, they've already created TOO fine an assortment of drills and diggers... more than anyone can ever think of (it's becoming kind of forced.. really... "dynamite tossing"... WOW!). Agents have a lot of potential. TLG can create sets from any campy spy B-movie they can think of. However, I don't think they sell well, the price range is too big, it jumps too quickly from $10-30, up to $60-100. There are no mid-ranged priced sets. Thus, it should end soon, maybe one more year... (I still haven't seen Mission 7 from Agents 1.0 in Canada...), and I'm still waiting for the Agent's Headquarters. I hope Pirates get another year though, we got a lot of stuff on the pirates side (shipwreck, treasure island, raft, pirate ship), but not much on the imperial soldiers (only an island fortress), i still hope to see some form of an "HMS-something" show up to cannonball the pirate ship. City will not end, it generates the most profit, but some of the different sub-themes will go to rest (coast guard, firefighters, farm, police, etc.)... for a while at least. And Castle, they need to have more castle sets, it is the only in-house theme that I hope continues, especially this Fantasy Era Castle theme... there's so much potential (wink wink ELVES! And fairies to if possible!) I never really much cared for Racers though, I've got enough of those 'pull back and go' cars... and tiny turbos... I despise the theme's lack of minifigs. I'm more of a licensed guy, and for me 2010 can't come soon enough, with Disney and Ben 10 (maybe will see prelim pics by Christmas!), and hopefully more Indy, and less Spongebob -- bring back AVATAR! They're making a movie now!.
  14. I'm a huge Johnny Depp fan, and if you pair him with Christian Bale and stick them in the same movie, I will line up overnight to watch it. And it's no fault of mine that I would fall in love with Depp's character John Dillinger; which in turn causes me to create a LEGO minifig version of him. One of the most well known American bank robbers in the 1920-30s, some viewed him as a dangerous criminal, others saw him as a modern day Robin Hood, I present to you... John Dillinger: "They ain't tough enough, smart enough or fast enough. I can hit any bank I want, any time. They got to be at every bank, all the time." I highly recommend the movie. Enjoy! ~tin7
  15. oh... how did i get one? haha...
  16. That's fine, I'll just remove the stuff that involve Heracles and Cerberus. However, the question is, what of the Gods? Zeus and Hades and such have all been created in the Disney film.
  17. Here's my entry: LEGO Heroes Theme: Heroes are those who act above and beyond the call of duty and in doing so give definition to courage and elevate all of us.... LEGO Heroes is a theme that tells the tales of different Heroes (real or mythical) around the World. From the serene age of Ancient Greece, to the exotic landscapes of Ancient China, this theme will bring its audience into the worlds of myths and legends, where courageous Heroes immortalize their lives in the stars! Lego Heroes: Greece For thousands of years, the myths from Ancient Greece have intrigued people. Their stories have enthralled us with tales of brave heroes, savage monsters, and powerful gods. Myths blend fact and fiction that can help us to better understand the behaviors, customs, and way of life of the people of Ancient Greece. As this is only the Greece part of the theme, I have some possible Greek Heroes sets (with set descriptions), it is also a great way to introduce mythical creature elements into LEGO sets. Perseus - The Slaying of Medusa: Perseus sets off on a quest to bring Polydectes the head of the Gorgon Medusa. Minifigs: Perseus, 4 Minifig Statues Creatures: Medusa, 3 Animal Statues Bellerophon - Slaying the Chimera: Bellerophon on his quest to slay the Medusa. Minifigs: Bellerophon Creatures: Chimera, Pegasus Jason & The Argonauts - Quest for the Golden Fleece: Jason and his Argonauts arrive in Colchis to claim the Golden Fleece. To get the fleece, he and his men must battle guardian dragon. Minifigs: Jason, Atlanta, Philoctetes, Orpheus, Bellerophon Creatures: Dragon, Chiron The Ship: Argo Theseus - The Labyrinth: Theseus must enter Daedalus
  18. question: when u mean plastic customized parts only, does that mean no sculpey?
  19. it's not just 1 fig right? it can be an army or a group of figs?
  20. hmm... your ideas are nice... but i don't think the license is for the 'themepark'... the license itself should be for the movies. for me, i would like some of the memorable scenes/locations from the movies: Aladdin: Aladdin and Jasmine on the carpet (singing A Whole New World) Beauty & the Beast: The big ballroom scene with the song. The Little Mermaid: Ariel's sea cove Tarzan: Tarzan treehouse (I think it would be a really fun set) Mulan: The Chinese palace Pochahontas: one of those British ships in the beginning of the film. The Lion King: MINIFIG SCALE LIONS!! Hunchback of Notre Dame: duh! Notre Dame Cathedral Hercules: so many possibilities. Lilo & Stitch: I just really want a minifig version of Stitch.
  21. great work! you should make a whole series of HP decals to add to our extremely weak HP decal section in the Index.... i suggest starting with the hogwarts teachers!
  22. this is PERFECT!. thanks for this, you don't know how grateful i am!!
  23. soon someday very soon. i will post them.
  24. as far as i know, the actors HAVE been cast... and the movie has completed filming. I don't actually have a 'look' for them yet, as no promotional stills have been released for the movie. which is why the figs are still 'prototypes', since i just based them off the book descriptions.
