  1. I bought a used 16x32 one on Saturday for 10p at a car boot sale.
  2. It's going to look rather naff on a smaller track anyway. How big is the area? You could always display it going backwards and forwards on a straight piece of track. You can use an arduino to reverse it and stop it falling off the ends.
  3. In the UK we regularly used to get free poly bags with newspapers. So zero. Or if you want to include the newspaper cost, about half a penny, considering you could often get two lots per newspaper. For sets in sales, I've had many at a penny a part of so.
  4. Why does Space have to be sci-fi though? With current interest in space missions and the 50th anniversary of the moon landing and so on, if anything there is a strong impetus behind space being more science fact than science fiction.
  5. There is a much more active thread located in licensed about Bricks and Pieces, that discusses both licensed and non-licensed parts. Yeah, the Northern Irish are often left out. At least you didn't translate it as England! I believe the shut-down is temporary, but time will tell.
  6. It is actually the whole United Kingdom. They are still allowing people from Northern Ireland to buy as well.
  7. "Zebra" was first mentioned here ... but still a bit unclear what it is.
  8. That is what I was thinking, but then it cannot be Winter 2019 as that is in the past!
  9. Have you seen how many minions Mega did in their line? They are up to at least series 13 https://www.megabrands.com/en-us/construction-toys/despicable-me-minions/micro-action-figures-series-13. The series vary in number but I think they have done well over 100 different minions already. Of course the franchise itself is much smaller than the behemoths in that it was very popular then died somewhat after each movie was gone from the cinema. But in this sense it is not that different to TLM, TLM2, Ninjago Movie, etc.
  10. Yes they do remove them from time to time. In the past it was possible to buy quite a few licensed parts early on, which were then removed from bricks and pieces but they remained available for the missing parts service. I've had many licensed torsos that were then removed, but some of my favourites were the microfigs from 50003 Batman and 50011 Lord of the Rings games - they were 35p each.
  11. When is winter 2020? As Winter for us is Dec - Feb, so the next winter is 2019/20.
  12. If this is a long term plan to keep it as it is then it does seem strange that, out of all the people in the world, the people of Denmark are excluded.
  13. You could also pick any old set on bricklink and chances are there will be many retired parts. Take any old train set for example, there will be motors, couplers, etc that are long retired. For example, these pieces haven't been seen in new sets since the first moon landing. There have been multiple replacements for coupling.
  14. That's fine by me :-) It does seem strange as postage to all European countries is essentially the same, unless there is some problem with the couriers they use. Or maybe they are culling it to just the major markets for parts - I can imagine both Germany and the UK and big markets, but then why keep Switzerland. It is also unlikely to be due to toy regulations - Germany in particular is strict about choking hazard notices and so on for imported goods.
  15. Many parts have been retired but replaced by a similar alternative. For example these 1x2, 1x3 and 1x4 bricks that changed underneath. Similarly there are a number of variants of 2x4 bricks and similar with or without supports. There are thin clips and thick clips such as these. Jumpers: There are changes in arches such as: Or these two 1x6 arches: 1x1 Cones with/without grooves: 2x2x2 cones with variations in studs: Tiles with/without grooves: Robot bodies: Bricks with axle holes
  16. The answer really depends on your circumstances and only you know these. If you have little space, flatten the boxes and keep them under your bed. If you have a warehouse or large storage facility, store them there. Or something in between depending on your personal circumstances.
  17. Very clever, with another vote for the floating stairs.
  18. Can you really not come up with an answer for this yourself? It is really going to depend on your situation. You can buy large plastic sealable crates to store them in, store them in a warehouse, store them in a cupboard, an attic, a garage, under your bed, and so on. Only you know how much space you have and whether that space is damp or dry, hot or cold, dark or bright, and the answer depends on many conditions. Are you doing this for profit on 100s of boxes or just for a few?
  19. Do you have $80.00 sets or $79.99 sets? As this might be important as they say you cannot use more vouchers than the cost price. So if you buy a $79.99 set, then you would only be able to use $75 of vouchers. Of course the way around it online is to buy a 5c pick-a-brick piece to send the order over the $80 threshold for the vouchers. In store it is not so easy to find something as cheap, but you could add a CMF or a key-chain. I believe this is the same as the old scheme, although I never tried it as I tend to use my vouchers as I get them rather than build them up.
  20. The point of showing the two different level carousels was to show that any cheap or smaller version of the Ferris wheel would not look anything like the Creator Expert one.
  21. I'm not a fan of the torso as it doesn't look very LEGO-like. The official Spartan torso is pretty cheap (under $1) on bricklink. Or there is the flying warrior torso, again fairyl cheap.
  22. They say you can use as many money off vouchers as you like, but only one PHYSICAL reward per order.
  23. This should be OK. The first was probably a paypal pre-authorization that will get refunded. LEGO used to do this on all orders paid via PayPal - they charge you upfront as a pre-authorisation, then charge you at the point it leaves the warehouse at which time they refund the pre-authorization. But the latter can take one or two weeks to be refunded.
