  1. There is another smaller and simpler one in the Friends rollercoaster set. Why not build that instead. I imagine any cheap Creator one would look like that. After all, instead of the Creator Expert Carousel: would you want the smaller Creator Carousel? Any cheap Ferris wheel is likely to look much simpler than the Expert set, similar to that in the Friends set.
  2. Amazon UK does have good deals - my last few orders from them (RRP in brackets): LEGO Movie 2 70841 Benny's Space Squad £5.99 (£8.99) 75259 Star Wars Snowspeeder £19.99 (£34.99) LEGO Aquaman: Rage of Atlantis Blu-ray (with Jessica Cruz minifigure) £5.00 Amazon prime is more than free (pre-paid) delivery. It is a movie / TV streaming service too.
  3. It wouldn't surprise me if LEGO went under if they stopped doing licensed sets. If they stopped doing them, then another building brick company would soon step in and take their place and the lucrative licensed area. Then slowly they would become the top brand, at the expense of LEGO.
  4. I am not suggesting stereotypes are the most logical way. You don't seem to accept that minifigures can be whatever you want them to be. So therefore the only way around that is to use stereotypes.
  5. Why not get a $20, another $20 and a $5. Then use all three on your order?
  6. I buy on bricklink, PAB walls and sets. For me the price per part is a meaningless concept when buying for MOCs. What is important is the price per USEFUL part. I don't care if a set has a low PPP if the parts are not useful.
  7. Customers that want to get other items instead of money off stand to benefit now. They did a survey asking if VIPs would want other items. I replied saying I would. Now all they have to do is have some more attractive items in the programme. If it is just unsold/unclaimed past promotions, they can forget it.
  8. I didn't. I said you were from a region where fake products are produced. Many fake LEGO items are made in South East Asia. They aren't branded as LEGO, but then quite a few LEGO parts are not branded either. People are wary of fakes on BL, if a seller from SE has many of a rare part, then many people will assume they are fake. And there are fake LEGO *printed* parts. A huge load of fake Deapool minifigures printed on original parts originated in SE Asia. The parts are original, but were printed on by fakers.
  9. And then zombify them too. So for any character it can be male/female, good/evil, normal/zombie - that is already up to 8x possibilities for each idea. I'm looking forward the the evil male zombie pastry chef. And combine that with short legs to give you evil zombie pastry chef boy. As to orcs, I guess it means what you mean by them. There were loads of orcs/goblins in the licensed LOTR/Hobbit and all those Fantasy Era trolls, but also the goblin in CMF S13. I don't mind them so much when one or two, but there have been so many of them recently, they have become a bit boring. It wasn't just in the S18, but also TLM2 series had the giraffe, crayon and watermelon. We had (historical) castle on the shelves at the same times as Harry Potter in the past, and also when LOTR was out. I don't think Harry Potter is stopping LEGO doing castle. That said, I think we have had better historic figures in the CMF series than in the castle themes in the past.
  10. They also offer a far wider selection of downloadable colouring sheets on the website for free.
  11. Underneath your name it says Country: Vietnam.
  12. Are the vouchers not instant? If the online vouchers are similar, that means delaying orders until vouchers are received, which means forgetting to place orders or placing them elsewhere.
  13. And some colouring sheets!
  14. Yes, you need to smooth them with a fine file. Something else you can do it take a cotton bud / q-tip and dip it in acetone, squeeze it, then rub it on the filed part only. This both removes any fine dust and dissolves the surface, leaving it smooth. But don't overdo it or it becomes too shiny.
  15. They took it down while they were updating the VIP area, probably due to the number of complaints they were getting about missing points.
  16. Whether it is a successful change really depends on what the free gifts are. If there are some interesting ones, then great. If it is just past promotional items that they were unable to shift first or second time around, then not so great. It then just becomes a slightly less convenient way of getting a discount on the exclusive sets (as I rarely buy non-exclusives at lego).
  17. The limited batpod is already out of stock !
  18. Going off bricklink prices, it has about doubled in price since retiring.
  19. The rate appears to be 100 old points is 800 new points.
  20. I imagine a substantial portion of it is down to the casting compared to the original. The change to an all female lead cast inspires both interest from some and hate (or just lack of interest) from others. But then I don't think I would have seen it with four new male leads either. I saw the trailer and decided against seeing it. I thought it was quite cynical, a remake for the sake of a remake trying to cash in on the original name. The problem for me was the cast, in that it wasn't Bill Murray in a lead role, who really made the original GB what it is. I'm sure the female leads could have made a decent *original* comedy movie and it would have been fine. There are more and more female led movies that don't seem to have the intention of alienating men through the marketing, which is great. The recent Wine Country with/by Amy Poehler, Trainwreck, Bridesmaids, Juno, Pitch Perfect, Easy A, Legally Blonde, Clueless, etc. They are all good comedies, which have a lead female(s). It is the story that is most important, not the gender of the leads. If so much is made of the genders, the story is lost and forgotten about. Also the indirect social media marketing seemed a bit strange. Some of it seemed to want to somehow annoy men in an attempt to get women to see the movie, it just seemed weird. Men can watch female led comedies - they are likely to be a substantial part of the audience.
  21. It will be very hard to monitor what sells well like that. I would imagine experiments with small bags of pre-defined parts, like the xtras bags, would be a better experiment as they can easily track sales.
  22. I don't think licensed themes entirely are to blame, since similar printing exists throughout non-licensed themes, whether City, Ninjago, CMF, etc. But also I am not against them, I am just not for them for the majority of figures. Like you, avoid them where it is not necessary, but have them where it is. I don't want to see a lack of dresses or bikinis, or muscled torsos. There it makes sense that they are highly gender specific. But for a T-shirt or whatever, the more generic the better. Same with yellow / flesh print on torsos. Where it is a bare chest, a bikini top or a summer dress, then skin will show. But where there is a tiny amount of flesh showing, just leave it off. That way, licensed torsos can be used with non-licensed and vice versa.
  23. Make sure it is LEGO. Make sure you know what it is you have. Even then, a lot of people on bricklink won't trust or buy you, as you are from a region where there are many fakes produced. Plus postage will be expensive to most BL buyers, which again cuts down on sales unless you have something not available elsewhere.
  24. I guess they will go off sales of previous GB sets to decide if it is worthwhile them doing it. They have enough sales data to know whether the franchise sells. I don't know how well the sets for the newer Ghostbusters movie did, but if not great then hopefully they will ignore those if they are returning to the original cast and storyline.
  25. Things were so much easier when there were just generic smileys and simple torsos. To show the point, look at these two torsos: Would you use the first one for male only, female only, or both? Would you use the second for male only, female only, or both?
