MAB

Most MOCs published on Eurobricks are saying if you take a load of parts designed by lego and put them together in a different way then you get something better than what lego put in a set. This is no different, here are different vehicles using standard lego parts with some great performance. An obvious question is how do the MOCs compare to an official lego design, and that was answered here. There may be many other reasons the MOCs would not make it as official sets but outdoor performance is clearly not one of them. I'm sure the lego one tested very well by the design team, driving it around a flat office floor and overcoming common barriers / objects such as pencils scattered on the floor. Which is probably what many people would do with it, not driving it outside as it would get dirty. Because people don't drive expensive lego kits outside in the dirt, do they ...? Videos such as this showing what can be done if you don't mind getting your expensive collectable toys, which must remain in excellent condition to retain their value, a bit dirty really show how much better performance can be achieved using the same parts as lego has available. I think they are great.

I'd use wedge plates to create a circle first. Draw a circle on squared paper to look at which wedges you'd need.

Sure, the age on the box is just marketing. It just seems funny to me that a set that is literally a message sends out a slightly different message itself, that sexuality or discussion of sexuality is for adults (18+) only. Which ones? I can't think of a set where the internal parts were rare colour/part combinations. I'm completely the opposite. I'm glad they are making SW sets aimed at kids again, stopping the gradual increases in costs and parts counts in these sets. Keep the UCS sets (and 18+ sets in other ranges) for adults and make the kids sets more affordable. A kid swooshing an x-wing doesn't care if the parts count has been reduced compared to the last version if it means they can get one and are not priced out.

They say they don't check, and that submitters should do this.

Nice MOC, but Megabloks still produce Thomas the Tank Engine construction toys, so it will probably be denied due to this guideline: PLEASE AVOID PRODUCT IDEAS BASED ON BRANDS THAT ARE LICENSED BY OUR COMPETITORS.

I can't help with the stud types in that figure as I don't have one. Deadpool has been found with different head studs, but then being a regular retail minifigure he is not such a good comparison as he was in sets produced for North America and for Europe/Worldwide, so in different factories. The set was even redesigned during production, so there are different versions of the set depending on when and where they were produced. As Deadpool was in a regular retail set, they would have been produced in batches and more likely to have different stud types than a highly limited figure produced in a small batch for a comic con.

It will be interesting to see whether S2 get released in regular shops.

Another funny thing about Everyone is Awesome is that it is an 18+ set. Everyone is awesome ... but only if you are aged 18 or over.

Personally, I hate the Everyone is Awesome set. LEGO has "stolen" the idea of monochrome minifigures and mass produced them into an official set. Some people have collected monochrome figures for years, to be able to buy a ready made pack off the shelf feels like cheating and devalues what monochrome figures are. Yes, there is still the hunt for harder to complete ones but LEGO making these a set just feels off to me, taking a fan idea and making it official.

I still don't think the idea was that bad. There were two killer issues for me, the implementation of the app and the pricing.

I agree. It is unlikely to come back unless they had lots of unclaimed stock. It was a January gift, so likely to have gone out of stock as Modulars and other sets are released 1 Jan.

Maybe they want to get rid of LEGO off the shelves to make way for more traditional summer toys. LEGO doesn't sell so well at this time of year and takes up a lot of shelf space, especially for a supermarket where they need high turnover of items on shelves. It happened with The Hobbit sets. Sets from wave 3 (Lonely Mountain, Battle of Five Armies) were 50% off at ASDA and some other retailers just three weeks after release.

It is understable, given PAB is mailed separately. I regularly used to order a 6p part on PAB when placing a B+P order, since any value B+P order cost £2 to post. Whereas add a single PAB part to a £50 B+P order, and postage was free. Even if I didn't want the part, it was a way of saving £2. LEGO are just closing that loophole. It would have cost them to deal with the 6p PAB part including the bubble envelope and the mailing costs. I imagine they set the minimum at a level where it doesn't make sense for them to mail out cheaper PAB orders.

What is this Bricklink go fund me program? Or do you mean the Bricklink Designer Program? If so I cannot see LEGO rereleasing modulars that way. That would mean they are allowing a third party to upload their past sets to IDEAS, get to review, not pass them but allow them to go to the BDP, then paying the "designer" who uploaded LEGO's design a fee for the use of their work. If they do that, they can kiss goodbye to trying to claim their set designs are copyright protected.

Just be aware that international post still has backlogs. Some US buyers on the BL forums talk about months of waiting in US mail centres for international post.

LDD is older so it is not surprising if there are more LDD virtual builds here, partly due to stud.io not being around and partly due to inertia. But stud.io is probably the way to go for anyone wanting to start now.

The colours look great together. What are the mice made from?

That is because it is not glow in the qark white/opaque/trans, but trans light blue withe the minor GITD colouring marbled in. In the BL catalogue, parts can only have one major / base colour. So this one is black with lime marbling and not lime with black marbling.

Concerning numbers, I cannot see them changing back to 16 from 12 for 'regular' series (although they are not really regular any more!) Why change for just one series? And licensed ones will be as big as LEGO need / want them to be, not following any standard.
