I cannot see that happening. There is not really much of a following 25 years after and it has been surpassed in the same genre by Atlantis although even that doesn't really have much of a following. And for the most part, the figures are boring, like the divers from Atlantis. They don't have the simplistic charm of the classic space or castle figures from before it, but the detail is not as good as what has come after. What about all the other older Ninjago figures that are not worth that much now. While some have become sought after, others from the same era have not increased so much in value. You need to bet not just on a theme but on specific versions of specific characters. Winners are normally popular characters that have a variant exclusive to one set that has a limited distribution. I went back to old BL sales records and I sold a load of njo070 back in 2014-16 for £10-£14. He was exclusive to a book that was often sold for £5 and sometimes £3. These days he is worth £14-15. So would not have been a good investment.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
MAB replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
If they are intended to be specific people, I think yellow is highly unlikely as that would be seen as whitewashing (or yellowwashing) implying all the subjects are the same race. That works fine if they want to do generic rocket scientist, generic microscope user, and so on. But if the character was clearly meant to represent a real person, then more realistic skin tones are probably better. There are others too, such as the Women of NASA, but again not CMF. -
I have collected monochrome figs since about 2010. I discovered it for myself when playing around with single colour parts and only later found out other people did the same thing. Most of the fun for me was in spotting new parts and tracking them down. In that sense, Everyone is Awesome is a terrible set. It robs people of the fun of the chase, and also sets up expectations that collecting monochromes is as easy as buying them off the shelf. For me, the time (if not the cost!) was well spent.

No. Although the music was done by the Sherman brothers, who did lots of Disney scores too, so it sounds like a Disney movie.

They are trialling them in the UK. But it was selected invite only to a small number of VIP accounts.

Backpack piece got bent and discoloured - any chance to fix that?

Yeah, it does still look bad. It might also have been aggressive feeling to identify a sealed pack. -
Also the newer ones are easier to sandwich between plates, if that is how you are holding them at the edges.

Not many got the invite. You are a VVVIP!

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
MAB replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
It might be that someone else checked the order and cancelled parts that you should not have been sold. -

If you put it on a minifugure with a head then most of the mark will be covered anyway. -
This Hobbit elf was drunk.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
MAB replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I cannot see lego doing an accurate and licensed conservationists series, it is incredibly niche. Why not nuclear physicists, or pioneers of medicine, or famous explorers, or 16th century monarchs of Europe, or famous youtubers, ... -
Did you connect the +/- the right way around? As wrong polarity can cause capacitors to fail and converters to smoke. I also don't think PF receivers can handle 12v continuously or if they have voltage protection for the IR receiver. They are meant to be 9v and I don't know if they are protected against continuous higher voltages. Maybe use a relay for the output instead.

Press Release: 76391 Harry Potter Hogwarts Icons Collectors
MAB replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in LEGO Licensed
They are both brick built versions of the same character that will be on the shelves at the same time, at not too dissimilar scales. What is this new one, about 1.3x or 1.5x the dimensions? I think that means they can be compared, especially as they brought out the lesser one first and I doubt many people saw a better brick built Hedwig coming so soon and so would have bought the first one. To me, that is quite different to comparing a 4+ set to a UCS set where each set is a single build. More like comparing a regular system set with a collective MBS type set if both are out at the same time. If Echo Base was released then they did Assault on Hoth a year later that would be similar. But not a 4+ vs UCS. -

Hedwig looks good, but there is still the smaller brick built set on the shelves. Potions look good but probably just stickers. Books OK but are an expensive stand. Those scarf things seem to be there to increase the parts count, they look terrible. Frog is ok but the wand looks crap. And of course three exclusive minifigs in an expensive set, which designers apparently don't like doing. Yet still it is done. -

We have had ones like the diver with turtle recently and the zoo keeper with chimp longer ago. In that sense, why bother making anything more accurate and needing permission. Jacques Cousteau becomes diver in wetsuit, Steve Irwin becomes generic Croc keeper, and so on. -
It really depends how much storage space you have. I flatten the ones I want to keep.

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
MAB replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
If they come into stock, the price is likely to change from 0.00. Sometimes, if you've ordered one, they might let you have it free. But the days of them sending 100s of free parts is over! Whether you get something or not in such circumstances is so random, it is impossible to say for definite. The only definite is that if you don't try, you don't get! -

They often remove items, seemingly randomly. You can trying phoning but it might depend on the person you speak to. That other animals are available doesn't mean much as they don't seem to link them together. -

I didn't realise these were dark nougat, that's good, a bit more variation. -

Sometimes it does. -
Yes, I imagine some retailers won't be putting these on the shelves. If they need to put 50% discounts on them it looks bad on them too, and especially if they make little on them. It wouldn't surprise me if they become lego store exclusives or appear in big discount chains that regularly discount items from ridiculously high RRPs, not bothering to try to get the RRP at all.

Same here. I think I saw two parts that I might get but otherwise I'm out. I'm not sure who most of the costumes are, unlike the DC series.
