  1. This is looking very promising, especially the sloped battlements, the moc cannons (even thought I'm not too fond of the wheels) and crane are great. But I don't like the look of those helmets, the "conquistador"-helmet would look better I think (if you want helmets and not hats). Barnacles you mean?
  2. My favourites change all the time, but at the moment I guess it's: Space: 497 Galaxy Explorer StarWars: 4483 AT-AT Town: 6543 Sail N' Fly Marina (maybe even one of the best sets ever) But there are more candidates for the title, like 6396 international jetport or 6399 airport shuttle Pirates: 6285 Black Seas Barracuda With 6286 Skull's Eye Schooner as a fairly close second Unfortunately the only one of these I own is BSB (and SES)
  3. At least something good comes out of the bad weather last week, you won't be able to ride your motorcycle, so you're forced to work on this beautifull ship . Staten Landt -> Nova Zeelandia (after Zeeland, a Dutch province) -> New Zealand Some of the many Dutch named of towns/cities and places in South-Africa: Bloemfontein, Johannesburg, Windhoek, Hoedspruit, Klerksdorp, Pietermaritzburg, Mossel Baai (Mossel Bay). (not 100% sure on some of these) Zuid-Afrikaansche Republijk -> South African Republic (+the South-African language (Afrikaans), was based on Dutch) And there's probably a fair amount more (I think there was also an Asian country that was named by the Dutch (Japan?) but I'm not sure) Ahh, what could have been... We did pretty well for such a small country.
  4. A 1 x 1 headlight brick placed horizontally (and a 1 x 1 plate against the back to fill the gap) against a vertically placed brick like you have in your OP could help to get more studs to build on.
  5. Got 2 oldgray 9v switches today (left and right), mostly bought them because they where fairly cheap I think (17€ incl. shipping), but I might just venture into trains sometime (unfortunately I only have a freight train set, but since trains are pretty expensive most of the time, this 'll have to do).
  6. There are no Indy fans outside the US? They should've released this set individually (without the magazine) and worldwide. Or like get a free one of these sets with every order above ... If they put it on S@H it might just as well be worldwide.
  7. LEGO tries to make US customers happy, they don't really care about the rest of the world: lots of set unavailability, high prices etc. LEGO does nothing about these complaints, but when some people in the US cry about the ONE set they don't get, LEGO caves instantly. That's what's stupid about it.
  8. The technic axle suggestion seems like the best option to me, otherwise you could just buy new ones. And: Don't think it really is a tophat piece, but a sort of rubber band.
  9. Notre Dame, Arc de Triumph, Taipei 101, Sidney Opera House, Petronas Twin Towers, Tower of Pisa, Neuschwanstein Castle and Brandenburger Tor would all be great (and of course there are many more). But I don't think I'd buy them, because my wallet doesn't let me . I like to see them, but I don't think they need to make sets like these more often, just the way it is now is fine.
  10. Bought myself a 6289 - Red Beard Runner today :), now I'll just wait till it ships and arrives.
  11. Sweet Looks like it's made from black round 2x2 bricks, black barrel and something like this. With a round 1x1 plate and a technic ball joint on the back, some wedge plates + 2x2 brown tiles on the sides and these bracket pieces on the bottom to hold it together it seems. Cant see if there is a good connection between the carriage and cannon though.
  12. I hope those pilot torso's (including the brown hands I need) will drop in price/raise in quantity on BL. S@H charges too much shipping for the parts I need (if only they sold more castle torso's, helmets and shields...).
  13. Good moc, I actually had the same idea of using palmtree trunks for a raft a while ago, but I couldn't get it to look right (as in: something that looks like it was built on an uninhabited island with minimal tools), but yours does look great.
  14. So all ship entries go in the large division? (even if they're 16x8 for example?) or does it mean that ships in the large division must also be at least 16x16 and not like 20x12?
  15. Fabuland isn't even close to being as wierd and retarded as Bionicle (which I don't even see as LEGO, Fabuland at least has the "LEGO-feel", Bionicle doesn't). I'm not really fond of Fabuland and it is kinda wierd, but I don't think it's crap/retarded and it also has usefull elements.
  16. This has got to be one of the best contests ever judging by the prizes. I just hope I get some time and inspiration to build something. Just one of the many reasons to like EB/C-P
  17. 1.Playing those athletic games on the commodore 64 (and getting dents in the table because of the joystick ) 2.Final fantasy 8 (playstation), the entire game, best final fantasy ever 3.Finishing Zelda on the NES
  18. Very nice moc I especially like the folding wings, crossbeams and landing gear.
  19. What's with all the complaining about the colour scheme? I really like the orange/lime green (and no, I'm not a 10-year-old or one that is attracted by bright and shiny colours ), althought I'm not sure if they're the best choice for this theme. The theme looks fairly nice, but has too many almost useless <insert that tiresome argument> parts.
  20. 12,99 and 2,49, you can also check S@H I don't really think it is that expensive (17,50€) for 9 minifigs+ some accesories (even thought I don't really see the skellies as minifigs and don't really like them). I was afraid it would cost more.
  21. The same can be said about releasing OT sets from Star Wars or Indiana Jones. Characters like shortround, jock or satipo (and several locations, like the map room or temple) are probably not known to kids these days, but TLG still releases them.
  22. I'd like to adopt one of those beauties
  23. This is a great set. Glad we get 2 knights with printed torso, and not 1 printed and 1 unprinted+armour. I really like the jester, maiden and witch Only 2 things I wish where different: The other type of dwarf beard in earth/dark orange, and I would have preferred an orc shield instead of a skeleton one. (+I don't really care about the 2 skeletons, a wizard and a peasant would be more usefull to me, but at least now all factions are represented)
  24. Keeping them stacked will put some strain on them. I don't really have a problem with my "old" parts if I keep them stacked, grip is still good and hardly any fractures, but on my newer parts (like sets from the last 5 years or so) some of them get a hairline crack almost instantly, even when I put them together 1 time.
  25. Brown flex-tube? Nice MOC, I like these "chubby ships" and steep stern decks (and also tall masts), but I don't like the rope ladders that much, the ship looks too wide for the short rope ladders in this way.
