Got some scala/bellvile items today. Some flowers (including 2 butterflies and a ladybug), flowerpot, carrots, and this rare/expensive beauty:

The music from the monkey island games is great as well, especially the main theme and the scumm bar song. Here's guitar versions of them on youtube: Theme/intro and a piano version of a lot of music from MI:

Wow, I'm surprised LEGO is releasing anything in the US. But this is just 1 set against entire lines that Europe misses out on (like batman), and the many exclusives, sales, and generally cheap LEGO in US, so it's kind of fair. But I wish LEGO would just stop with exclusives and just release stuff everywhere and not let some continents miss out.
-
Power miners is looking like a good them, I also like that city impulse with the chef, I really like that torso (lets hope Europe doesn't miss out on this or pirates).

If you think this is offensive, the internet is not really the place for you. You're bound to stumble upon a lot more "offensive" stuff, even on brickshelf.

Megabloks Pyrates and Pirates of the Caribbean Sets
Fluyt replied to Akkhraziel's topic in LEGO Pirates
It would be great if LEGO "borrowed" some ideas from playmobil, they have great designs, especially the last ship norrington posted. It would also be nice if lego released more individual parts as sails, just like playmobil (didn't even know they did that) -
Yeah, they're not bad colors in itself, but the stupid thing is that the old colors where replaced with them, while there was nothing wrong with the old ones in my opinion. And they don't mix that well with the old colors (although frown is nice to have as a variant in wood/mud), so people with a lot of old gray had to start al over. I think the only purple part I have is a dumbledore minifig , nothing wrong with the quality on that one.
-
Again just like with the bley and frown, very bad move I really like the non-standard colors, like lime, orange, sandgreen/blue/red and purple even thought I don't have a lot of pieces in those colors, so this is even worse, because I wont be getting them in sets anymore . I don't believe it is a quality issue, since "in the old days" (like 80's and 90's) there weren't a lot of quality issues afaik, only since they started using clear plastic pellets and only later added a dye, the quality started plummeting. It is LEGO's own fault that there are quality issues now, they don't want to make less profits to get quality up (unless they milk European customers for the losses that LEGO has, as always). TLG, fire that guy please.

Mine is probably the same as infomaniacs' (or the same, but the red version), I also use them for my imperial factions (red version for imp. guards and blue for imp. soldiers). I also use the regular imperial guard or soldier with epaulettes, backpack and shako fairly much.

Do you have some more information? Like, you want it brickbuilt, or make use of a prefab hull? ,Do you allready have parts to build it, or do you also want advise on what parts/sets to buy to make a ship etc. You might want to check brickshelf or the ship index in the pinned topic in this forum to get some inspiration.

I got some of these in the chzech rep. It has a fairly wierd taste at first, tastes very sweet. But if you get used to it, it's ok.

It is an ok set for some extra foilage and a pirate, but it's not special or anything and it could have used a cutlass. But what was the use of releasing a set exclusively in a value-pack? Why not make the value pack multiple sets that where also released individually or make it just 1 set (no use of putting them in seperate boxes) or did putting multiple sets in 1 value-pack look more like a bargain, and better marketing-wise?

For a really large army I could only think of showing off/looking at them and war gaming. My largest "army" (Imperial soldiers) currently consists of about 40 troops (including about 12 generic blue/white striped "pirates" as the working force). I don't think I'll ever need more than a 100 of any specific faction; more than enough to man my ships and guard (or attack) my port, which is still in the making. But with my current room and my brick collection, I'll wont be needing more than 50 probably. , good idea.
-
Pirates of course. But pirates & castle can live together in harmony. They're relatively similar anyways if you look at the big picture, only pirates have more/better ships, but both have fortifications, swords, pikes/halberds etc. (the late middle ages even had gunpowder, unfortunately lego didn't go that far).

That's great, maybe I'll be restoring my 6350 - Pizza To Go in the near future, thanks . Now to figure out how I can get my printer to do what I want (sometimes that thing has a will of its own ) Great thread about restoring Pizza To Go

Buying Pirate LEGO - where to buy, advice, tips and questions
Fluyt replied to Mr. Smee's topic in LEGO Pirates
I think you would also like 6263 - Imperial outpost. It has 2 imperial guards (with shako) an admiral woodhouse and a pirate+ you'll have a nice little base.- 502 replies

your pirates have a lot of treasure to loot (or spend) I hope you'll get around to take a picture of that. Can't wait to see your port finished, which has to be huge to accomodate the very impressive amount of ships you have.
-
I just bought the sails from IMTP - 6277 +some extra's for 11€. Could've probably gotten them cheaper, but I really wanted them and they aren't put up for sale that often.
-
That's a lot of ships , I only have 3, and they're disassembled Where they all once original ships, or did you buy hulls, sails and masts from BL or something similar? Because it looks like there's at least 4 CC, 3 BSB, 2 SES and 2 Armada flagships in there among others.

2. No they are not removeable (you mean the plume/tassel on the shako right?), at least not if they are the same as they used to be. 3. In the brickshelf folder (which first had these pics I think), it said something about january-may 2009 (it said enuaro-maio or something, can't remember how it was written, but I asume that means january-may)

Easily one of the best town sets ever (and pretty expensive for its size too, is/was it that rare?). I hope I still have all the pieces from mine, unfortunately, my stickers are in pretty bad shape (took them off because I needed the bricks, stupid stickers covering multiple parts , only downside to this set). The design is simple, yet so detailed, and the pizza van looks great. 5/5

By looking at the trunk, the normal palm tree had a round trunk, this one hasn't. To me it seems like this piece (4+ palm tree trunk) with one of these to attach the normal leaves. So unless it's a new piece, it's a 4+ palm tree trunk. Edit: hmm... seems like it is not specifically a 4+ piece, it came in the adventurers line first if I checked correctly, but it still remains a part that goes straight to the rubbish bin.

Alternate Weapons for the Crown Kingdom
Fluyt replied to Francis Marion's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
In medieval times (and almost every other time-period) pretty much everything that isn't neccesarily a weapon, but could be used as one, was used as a weapon. The standard knights and other premium soldiers mostly had normal weapons like swords and spears, but simple farmers that where drafted in time of war would use almost everything at their disposal (mainly because weaponry and armour was very expensive). From pitchforks, knives, axes, slingshots, improvised bola's to even simple sticks and stones etc. Looking a bit like big disorganised batallions because of different weaponry and armour/clothes.
