  1. I have two boys, one is three and 1/2, and the other is one. The eldest loves the look of Lego and enjoys my little Indy jeep the most, but has been allowed to turn things on the Death star as well. I think two of the most important pieces of advice I can offer any parent to be in regards to Lego sharing are; 1. If you think it is important to teach the value of sharing to your children, then you must be able to share your possessions with them too! 2. There is nothing wrong with having one or two sets that a child say 3 and over (who can be reasoned with fairly well) cannot play with, as they will have certain toys they do not wish to share that are special to them as well. You should always supervise them, as we don't want any swallowed pieces etc.
  2. I have finished the tumbnail links for all the creations so far, please let me know if anything is missing etc. Cheers ISC. As for what I will build next im not sure, though I will add your other options to the list Thrash.
  3. Righto, here is my Fighting Arena. With a whopping 10 minifigures, this scene has plenty of action. Watch as the two brave knights battle it out with state of the art weaponry straight from Thrash's blacksmith (Brickarms ) Their squires watch on, and its not hard to tell which squire belongs to which knight. The crowd gathers to watch, The wiard and Jester have a little wager. The knight isn't to worried as he munches on a banana. There is even some wildlife under the stands. I decided to put some slit windows in to let some light in on the action, doesn't mean we all have to do it, just wanted to try something. Figs Flickr link in picture at bottom, Brickshelf when moderated.
  4. Yay! i have finished my Fighting arena. Head on over to Beta thread for more pics, comments here or there appreciated.
  5. Wow! Im still getting over your last demon portal creation. This is really quite beautiful, but you probably don't need me to tell you that. I love the angle of the dock, though i'm wondering why there is a window in the wall down there. The building is exquisite too, I love the chimney and the yellow works well with the black. Perhaps there should be some light blue in the SNOT river to show shallow areas or splashing around the boat and netting. Other than that I cant think of anyway to improve this awesome MOC. Once again thanks for sharing. Oh do you have a Flickr acct? as I would def add you to keep up to date on your creations.
  6. Yon creation, is pleaseth to my eyes! Well done on the Guy Fawkes MOC, I love the characters and the gunpowder barrels all waiting to explode.
  7. Hi Stol, nice work on the webpage. Im happy to update the first post in the Discussion thread with links to all creations using thumbnails even. How does everyone feel about this, make use of the created webpage or simply come up with a thumbnail/link gallery in discussion thread?
  8. You've done it again Thrash! Well done, now get some Uni work done The fish market is simply awesome (man I seem to use that word a lot lately) the ice in the bucket, the fishmonger, the netting, some fresh water sharks The darkness pervading the thieves guild is nice, as are the details and characters, very shifty. Bravo.
  9. Hi Sinner, could you add +1 for Stash2sixx, seems im a little tardy on reciprocation
  10. Awesome to see 5 modules together! Well done on signing up Stol and your mum to get all the building done I have so far built a wall and parrt of the fighting arena, so hopefully it wont be much longer. I like your wall Guss, I understand you only have brown for the top ( which looks nice) however if you come across some dark grey that would look more consistent with everyones builds. As for one person tiling their wall and others having arrow slits etc, its a big walled castle after all, they will need different functionalities as well as using different supplies from quarries over time to build such a massive wall IMHO. I will add Guss and Skipper to the lists now. ( I now own your soul of course) Cheers Keep up the good work, and if anyone gets the chance to whip up some instructions for their modules, that would be awesome!
  11. It was according to Lego Australia, when I contacted them they only had record of 50 unsold ones left at TRU in the whole of Aus. Just never saw any in my area. It may go on sale in Jan on S@H so i may snap one up anyway. Also Target has stated that their big Toy Sale begins Nov 13th so keep an eye out for Catalogues. I noticed Myer has 20% some sets. TRU is also flogging some SW sets 20% off, they also have Peril in Peru for $100
  12. Thank you all that voted for me! I really love Baron sat's creation too, so much in a small area with a great story too.
  13. Insane! I love the alchemist module so creative, and thats what this is all about. I love how you made the castle wall fit around it and detached it for the photo's too. The false ceiling with bat, gold bars and piping look fantastic. Great moody photography too. Alright, I hope to get to work on my fighting arena in the next day or so.
  14. Come back in time with me to an age of wondrous creations, where light and dark grey bricks openly frolicked. Where Star Wars Lego was in its infancy. Today, for my 6th review, I present for your viewing pleasure...... 7130 Snowspeeder Set Name: Snowspeeder Year of release: 1999 Set Number: #7130 Pieces: 201 Minifigures: 3 Price: unknown Brickset Bricklink Let me start by explaining how I came across this little gem MISB. I have a great mate who was happy to spoil me on my birthday by parting with an old sealed SW set, knowing that my dark ages were 20 odd years, it was a safe bet I didn't have this set. Top bloke if you ask me. In order to maintain the realism of an old set review, I would like to present this set to you in black and white! Just joking, here are the colour pics. Box First we have the Box pics front and back. The back shows some alternate models as well, The spider ship looks really cool Instructions This set also came with 2 catalogues detailing all the releases for 2000. They certainly launched Lego SW with a bang, so many sets. The instructions themselves had a little picture on the top of all pages from the Empire Strikes Back too. Parts Here are all the minty fresh bags just waiting to be cracked open and spill their lego goodness. Build Time to start building. This build took me bout 30 minutes to complete and comes with three figures. All figures have the yellow faces, as Lego only introduced flesh coloured heads in the last couple of years to their licensed products. From left to right we have a Rebel snow trooper, Luke Skywalker and poor old Dak Ralter. Also worth noting printed parts, no DSS here First off is the Atgar cannon consisting of about 15 pieces, it didn't take long to build. Snowspeeder: Early pics Wing design I really like the wing design, very accurate in regards to the movie. Underside Built on a large base plate, this is a little ugly from the underneath. Finished product A great little set with lots included. Cockpit open without/with figures Front All its glory. Back Detailing the open cockpit and lightsaber container. Sleek machine Playability: 7/10 Two opening cockpits, a rotating dish and a lightsaber storage container. Swooshablity: 9/10 An iconic ship, with loads of sturdiness gives it a great level of swooshability. Design: 7/10 Beautiful design which reminds me a lot of the movie, they really did their homework on this set. Overall: 7.6/10 Don't be fooled by the rating of 7.6/10, I love this set. It comes with three figures and has some good parts and the build is nice. The finished product looks nice, its just Lego has adapted to SW over the years and built better Snowspeeders now with tow cables etc. Thanks for looking. More pics can be found here Cheers ISC.
  15. You know thats what i was thinking the problem was, alas you bet me to it, and since it was your problem i'm glad it was resolved. Lego purchasing on! mmmmmmm coooookies
  16. Well done Stol! I really like the carving of the statue out of the marble. The wall pattern is nice but may need a brighter colour some where to lift it from the rest of the building. I really like the white marble columns, very appropriate for the Mason's. Great figure choice too. Now I must find the time to build mine too....
  17. Thanks for all the comments guys. I have updated the pics now and feel a lot happier with the final MOC. Thank you again. Cheers ISC
  18. Thanks, I will have a better look at the skeleton, not sure about tiles on top, might make it look like planks of wood. Great ideas for improvement. I will def add a salt shaker! the cave has dirt on the ground hence the brown plates. Cool, thanks for the tips Zorro! I will fix the spelling and reposition a few things too. I wasn't sure about the placement of palm leaves in the rules, I will fix this up and tiles away!!!!! GO SNOT! He is drink the rum straight from the barrel, hence why he is lying down. I envisage pirates to be slackers when it comes to work. Im working on the skeletons too. Cheers Thanks for all the nice comments! Cheers ISC
  19. We only have a TRU Direct in Wollongong. It gets left overs from all the other shops. I went to a Sydney one, Miranda, and it was stocked so-so, never saw Sandcrawler or 7094 Castle either. No biggy. Cheers guys
  20. EXCUSE ME! Are these still around in Aus, and if so how much?
  21. Looking really nice Nadroj! I will look out for the final pics too. Im pretty sure you just use lots of these and twist them to the desired angles.
  22. Another very nice review, and im glad to see it has some nice pieces as well as characters too. Looks to me that no one on BL has it in Australia for sale so I may pass on this beauty. Though I did pick up King Kahuka recently. He makes an appearance in my Medium entry
  23. Vig. 31d Needs more salt! Updated I hope you enjoy my entry into the Medium division for Pillage the Village. It depicts the final fate of King Kahuka; the Cannibal tribe leader. The pirates have launched a raid through a secret cave wharf known only to them. They were quick to rout the King's forces, setting about turning the tables on the cannibal by serving him up for dinner! Overall shot. This picture depicts the chasm between the towering cliff faces, hidden cave and general pirate pillaging. Needs more salt Captain! Taking a chance to pay back all the other pirates that meet King Kahuka and his cannibals dinner plates, the pirates toss Kahuka into the boiling broth! Now with salt shaker! Treacherous journey Making the trip over the chasm is fraught with danger, the old vine ropes and wooden planks holding the bridge up could snap at anytime! The journey seems much easier if you focus on the drumsticks! Loading up the booty Now that the battle is over, the pirates start to lower their treasure into the secret cave to load onto the waiting nearby boat. The bats seem oblivious to all the action. An unfortunate past explorer Here is last weeks dinner! Any comments and criticisms are welcome as well as which picture to select for judging. Now updated with all the little fixes hopefully. Cheers ISC
  24. Outstanding work Guss! Man Im going to have to get moving on my big entry and raise the bar a bit too by the looks of this great village. The descriptions for the characters and pictures is a nice touch too. Bravo.
  25. Outstanding work so far! The wall looks nice but the tower seals the deal. Cant wait for the completion. Cheers
