General Part Discussion
nicjasno replied to Polo-Freak's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The thin liftarms are to add stiffness. You can see in real life aswell that the ARB often isn't just a straight bar but is bent in different places, to add torsional rigidity without using a thicker bar.- 5,459 replies

It totally does not work this way :P It does not matter what happens on the hub end. That part may be a one piece mold with the wheel bearing for the purpose of this conversation. The black part that slides is the soft part and that one will bend.
-
Here the upper part of the spring is being acted upon by a lever (the pin with ball joint) and the part is very soft, and likes to bend.
-
I really don't like the upper spring support with the offset balljoint. It makes the spring bend and basically jams it. There is not other way here ofc, but i still don't like it.

multi link suspension help

Well, you want the truth, not lies. The main problem is the sway bar. Its position is not very good. You want it to be as narrow as possible, otherwise the axle will twist so much as to render its function meaningless. Also, as it is now, it's in the way of everything. Ideally you want your links to be vertical and slightly angled inwards. -

Can't have a gear on the drive axle beyond the 12 tooth. It would hit the suspension bridge. Nice! I'd like for them to spin the same direction ofc. I will try to use one of your designs. I like it. -

Because of the gar ratio we need to achive. I'd love to, but neither the 9 tooth gear not the 12 tooth gear can drive it. Yes! This is actually pretty damn good. -
