  1. yeah you're right but what's gonna happen when sariel (just an example) will give instructions for free and someone will use part of those instructions to make money ? i leave it to your imagination lol
  2. sorry guys im not here to ruin your party but: i think that when you build something you're actually earning something (having fun in this case) why is everyone so happy to pay or get payed for instructions? i mean, i have an awesome concept in my mind for a remote gearbox and clutch...in some days ill check if it works and then, if it works, ill SHARE it TOTALLY FREE with you all !!! in my opinion selling instructions is only going to increase "industrial espionage" between builders...and we're only gonna have more topics titled "that guy copied this" "that guy copied that" increasing also jealousy between builders because: lets suppose i build something and i expect to earn some money right? Then here comes the Dude who bought my first idea, develops it better and gains 10 times what i gained using my idea...that's not gonna be nice, you know what im saying :P? The point is that to me knowledge has to be free so everyone can benefit of it... but i understand that many of you would like to see their "time" converted into money :)
  3. here's my little quad :P video is gonna come out in 2 or 3 days :)
  4. damn i have the same doubt man :\ 160 euros for the 9398 or almost 100 for the pf parts :\ ufff...it's just like "to be or not to be"
  5. yeah that's morally wrong lol! getting inspired from the best model that you like is good, because you will try to add your knowledge to make it better if you can! thinking that no one should upgrade your model or modify it according to his needs is just senseless...because if that's your idea then you shouldn't share your creations :)
  6. ...hmmm you know what guys? im new on this forum and i don't know personalities, so my opinion (based on what i read) could be totally wrong, i apologize now if someone gets offended (and i also apologize for bad english XD): if the most of us is probably here to have fun just like me, there are some builders (in this case sariel) who act like damn rockstars.... i mean, lego is just a toy! calm down everyone, who gives a single damn about who invented what and when?...no one invented nothing! all we do is trying to re-design with legos third's inventions... what i personally do when i design something is "SHARING KNOWLEDGE" because i'd like that someone else can take benefit from it. I dont give a damn if he's gonna put it in his website or whatever... seriously, can someone of us claim himself the first inventor of something? if you think you're an inventor and you want to be quoted in others creations, well you'd probably better not share things on a forum before u get a patent! im tired of this rat race...c'mon! i'm writing this after i've seen the two models...yeah they're similar, probably the guy took various ideas from the sariel's model, but damn! they're not built in the same way....and even if they were i dont think sariel bought a patent on his model! so you can accuse the guy of beeing a copier and not beeing creative but you cant expect that you'll be forever the only one who did something! and by the way, its just a damn toy -_-
  7. yeah guys i agree :) probably "punish one to educate the rest" is good in this case...mainly because of the contest... he's been an idiot....but you know: world is full of idiots :P
  8. i don't know how i could face something like in this case... yeah it's true, he copied your model but you haven't lost nothing... i mean, it's not fair copying a model and partecipating to a contest, but it depends only on the other people morality... no one has a copyright on his models... and if i think that a solution that someone else found, could fit perfectly into my model, it shouldnt be a problem if i adopt it too... maybe copying an entire model is a display of lack of fantasy :P but i dont know... i share my models because i'd be happy if people build something based on my idea... it's just knowing where is the line that separates "im happy i gave you inspiration" between "you copied my model"
  9. im about to build something with a 4 or 5 gears gearbox....probably that's the only way to have something funny to drive...we'd definetly need something like this directly by lego, in a small scale... it would solve every torque-speed problem of our vehicles :D
  10. there's also my snowmobile :P this winter im gonna build a faster one :)
  11. lol you've built that thing? cool!
  12. auuahua yeah! i have a list of future projects but i need to disassemble the quad i made last week...im waiting to shoot a video of that :P
  13. eheh this model has been dismounted unfortunately :P im happy you liked it!
  14. Hi guys! I don't know if you've ever seen the movie "Watch Out, We're Mad!" (Altrimenti ci arrabbiamo) There was a nice dune buggy by Puma that i've tried to build, as a tribute to my two favorite actors of all times: Bud Spencer and Terence Hill :D As its weight is less than 500g I've been able to use a high gear ratio, so it can go quite fast even on rough terrains thanks to its rear tyres. Dune buggy features: - RC Power functions - RTC steering - Front indipendent suspension - Rear suspension - Led lights - Working hood Measures: 26cm long, 14cm wide, 10 cm tall, 465g weight I hope you like it ^^
  15. now...this is a really cool crawler :D
  16. eheh cool :D
  17. omg! i DEFINITELY want the KTM bike :D http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/slfroden/42011-Race-Car/021.jpg when are these models coming out?
  18. one word: Amazing! i love these kind of cars, dont get me wrong it's easy have a "wow" effect if you build a supercar, with an usual car like this you need to kick ***, and hell yeah, this car rocks!
  19. i've tried with the double chain but it's almost the same, chain tends to slip or break... the model isn't so heavy: 600g with big wheels you've seen in pictures or 500g with 8081 ones the problem is that xl motor has too much torque and slow speed...so if you gear it up, things are gonna slip and be damaged by the high torque... once ill finish my Fiat Uno model, im gonna try to make a smaller atv that can go faster than this :P in the meanwhile im gonna shoot the video anyway :D
  20. i totally agree with kierna :D all these models are usually boring because they're too slow :) anyway, video is coming soon :)
  21. well...the faster it goes the more funny it's gonna be :P at the moment it has nice crawling potential...probably this is the best gear ratio if i take it for an off-road drive :) but im gonna try the double chain with a 1:1 ratio that could be funnier :D
  22. very nice tip mate! im gonna check if it works this evening :)
  23. here's in Honda colors :) but i prefer kawasaki colors because im really sick of red models XD
