Oh no, LEGO is making a new type of DC Superheroes sets, adding to all the stuff they already give us! I hate when they make new things. /sarcasm I have no complaints, maybe the AFOL community won't have much use for them but they'll be fun to see (and there is obviously at least a little demand: )

Oh man, didn't even think of the Muppets. Forget a Disney series, my wish is for a Muppets series. Kermit, Gonzo, Piggy, Fozzie, Chef, Sam, Beaker, more....

Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion
ultron32 replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
Hope nobody minds if I write a quick analysis of what Pixar movies I think will get minifigs. It may end up a wall of text but hopefully it turns out worth your reading :D Toy Story [franchise] - I don't expect this to be in the series, at least not series 1, for the reasons stated above. We've already seen them. Bug's Life - not sure if it's iconic enough but Flik could be a great figure. Monsters Inc - seems very likely to me! If we get any Pixar figs, Sulley and Mike seem like some of the most likely. Finding Nemo - animal nonhumanoid characters seem very, very unlikely to me. Incredibles - another likely one. Mr Incredible could easily be in the first series, with the rest of the family in later lines. Cars [franchise] - most likely, I wouldn't be surprised if they just have Mickey and the other 15 are Cars characters. Sarcasm. Ratatouille - doubt it for the same reason as Nemo. Wall-E - possible. a Wall-E fig would be awesome and I think doable. Up. Doubt it for the first series. Brave - already made. Inside Out - not for a series or a few at least, it's not iconic yet.- 4,155 replies

Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion
ultron32 replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
First your second point; it's German team only and only available there, they aren't producing as many as for most series and only releasing it in a place where lots of people will like them, even non AFOL fans of the team. As for the first point I quoted, think about it this way: If they release Disney series in January, and it can be the only CMF series on shelves for several months, they'll probably sell out. If the Simpsons series is released in May, neither series is sold out because the average buyer - non afol who is at a store and wants a minifig - will only buy a few, not all the ones available. If 95% of the buyers will buy the same amount of figs regardless of how many different ones are made, then it makes more sense to not make too many series in too few months- 4,155 replies

Ohh....I kind of really hope.

We get it; no offense but you're being rather stubborn. People seem not to agree with you, there is proof that it won't happen [now], and it is not related to the topic of this thread. I'm all for wishful thinking but you're being very persistently argumentative (and I agree with Sci; two series got all the main cast that they want to make, some of them twice). Glad to see that it's proven Sci, can't wait. Have they ever done event releases for CMF series? This would add to the list of things that come out by January that they still haven't revealed....- 4,155 replies

Not sure if it's been discussed in this thread but I'm guessing either Brickcon or New York Comic Con. No later than that, probably? -

Yep....you'd find a lot of copies of the Ecto-1 for sale online. -
Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
ultron32 replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
That's a fine idea but it needs to happen at least twice to be a trend. It could be $20 again or the price point could be completely random based on what part of the film seems marketable as a LEGO set, and what characters. We know nearly nothing about this movie so it's too soon to say there aren't enough characters. In truth I'm just playing devil's advocate but my points stand. -

Don't know why everyone presumes the Doctor Strange set will be $20/3 minifigs like the Ant-Man set was. Could be anything. $40, $50. -
Yeah I think we all expected the movie to be basic rubbish, the trailer looks fairly decent.

Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
ultron32 replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
Oh I missed that. Thanks. Probably so that they only have to take up two studs, allowing the vehicles to be just that much smaller. -
Like Actor Builder said I was joking about what Dalekbuster523 said in the thread about the Ghostbusters Firehouse; that they should cut the interior and make it cheaper. That seems reasonable but then where shall they reveal the Ghosbusters set? Someone said something about an event in Denmark I think.
-
I agree - although I wouldn't divide it that way, it would end with lots of characters not getting made. I would just make a Marvel line, each wave could have some of each and it could run for as long as they kept the license. There is a virtually unending stream of characters and variant costumes out of the MCU and the original comics.

http://tinyurl.com/pphzbtc Vehicles are usually iconic if either a) there is something inherintly unique about them, like a paintjob (see Ecto-1, Fozzie's Studebaker, or the Mystery Machine), a custom design or exclusive physical feature (see most Bat-vehicles or Star Wars vehicles as well as things like the Thundertank) or if it is integral to the plot in some way and/or many recognizable scenes take place in it (see the Delorean time machine, the Rustbucket from Ben 10, KITT from Knight Rider). Simpsons is a show about people who use vehicles to get from one place to another. Almost all of the ones I just mentioned serve some other purpose. Neat. -
Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
ultron32 replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
Do you know both of these things for a fact? It seems far more likely for me for them to make a movie style racer and reuse the Hulk from the polybag (his legs would still be exclusive plus it's not like Rocket from last year was exclusive to the polybag - he was technically in a set even if it was SDCC exclusive) than for them to make a comic style Ultron, which I think would probably require a new mold.EDIT - I see you added a reply before I posted this - the first point has nothing to do with which Hulk will be in the set. As for the second point, what do the Racers have to do with the TV series? It's a Marvel racers line, some of the sets will be based on TV and some on movies, just like in the Marvel Super Heroes line at large. And I adresed the third point above, I'm guessing LEGO knew that people would be angry if they could only get AoU minifigure Hulk without legs (since there are no legs that would fit the figure) so they decided to put him in a polybag before the set was revealed. -

It's just not iconic. It's just a car. The Ghostbusters car is talked about and made very noticeable by the design. I don't know how you could see a plain car as being as iconic as a decorated ambulance with lights and painted images. -
Ooh cool. I would guess it will be a variant unfortunately, although it could be a very recognizable character like Reverse Flash.

That's awesome. Thanks for the info J. Hhhmm, if they do reveal this at NYCC I wonder if somehow something like those could be the exclusive event minifigures? No. I completely disagree. I have seen both Ghosbusters movies years ago and the Ecto-1 is very recognizable, iconic, etc. I am admittedly not a very big fan of Simpsons but I have seen several episodes at least and if not for the LEGO set I wouldn't even know that the car was pink. -
That would be cool - heroes vs villains I'd imagine. Pawns could be UNIT agents and Daleks, Kings could be the Doctor and Cyberman on throne, Queens could be River and - Missy maybe? Other pieces could be companions and other aliens, respectively.

Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
ultron32 replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yeah Hulk will technically be exclusive to the polybag even if they put him in the Racers set, because in the Racers set he won't come with the exclusive legs :-/ -
I think most everyone in the discussion saw it. Not sure why you felt a need to add another wall of text. And LEGO practically did a Scooby Doo CMF series in the Monsters wave. Not technically but for anyone who's not a die-hard fan of the show, it might as well be.

I doubt that's possible :P I personally think that is one of the greatest LEGO sets ever made, not even exaggerating. That doesn't mean it'll be the same ones in the original set! -

Isn't Hulk supposed to be racing against Ultron? Now don't get me wrong I would LOVE and I mean LOVE a comic style Ultron minifig, but it seems far more likely for the pair to be AoU style.
