  1. Minifigure-wise is what I think is the biggest weakness of these sets. It's more of the standard what we've been seeing for a couple years now. I think Lego should also branch off of the usual main movies they've been covering. I'm surprised Captain America: The Winter Soldier has never had any sets dedicated to it. That was a very successful movie and still ranks as one of the best MCU movies to this day. It's even got several Avengers characters so it's not like they're taking a risk.
  2. Surtur set is wonderful. I was hoping Hela would pop up in this set, but I don't even miss her now. Love the Age of Ultron diorama set. Even if the minifigs aren't really anything new (still no leg printing for Cap), the overall set is quite well done. I wonder if the ending scene for Age of Ultron will ever get a diorama set featuring the new recruits like Wanda, Pietro, and Vision (especially since we need a new Pietro pronto). I'm not a big enough GOTG fan to collect the sets but the Milano looks great. I can see why everyone's going crazy over that.
  3. From what I remember about the Disney/Sony deal, Disney gets all the profits from Spider-Man merchandise. So that's why there was never a ban on him like with the Fox characters because Sony's content only boosts Spider-Man merchandise sales for Disney. In that case, I don't see why neglecting Mary Jane, like in the Daily Bugle set, would be encouraged. But I also don't get why Marvel said no to Spider-Woman in the Daily Bugle.
  4. That's a horrible reason but doesn't surprise me. I also wouldn't put it past Marvel because they've been trying to sideline Mary Jane ever since they erased her marriage to Peter. I wouldn't even be shocked if the reason that Peter's love interest in the MCU has zero in common with Mary Jane, besides the initials, is so a new generation of fans doesn't grow up thinking of Peter and Mary Jane as a couple. If there is another D2C Spider-Man set, like Oscorp, I hope they make up for it by giving us at least two MJs since the Daily Bugle had no problem giving us two Gwens. Besides the classic MJ (and I'd love to see her get a new hairpiece designed after her original Romita look), it would be nice to also get Spinneret, the version of MJ married to Peter in Renew Your Vows who becomes a super heroine. I do remember reading that the designers wanted to include Deadpool, Iceman, Human Torch, and Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew) in the Daily Bugle. The former three should be safe to include now that the Fox ban is over. No idea why Marvel refused on Jessica Drew but she's another character they're weird about. Despite being the premiere Marvel heroine of the 70s and 2000s, they've been sidelining her ever since Spider-Gwen became a thing. That SDCC minifigure is way too expensive and she deserves a new one that is readily available in sets.
  5. Is there a reason why MJ was excluded from the Daily Bugle set? It's so jarring to exclude the second most popular character from the franchise, after Peter/Spidey himself, from a comic book Spider-Man set. And if anyone's wondering why I keep asking Spider-Man questions, that's because I've been watching the theatrical re-releases so they're on my mind. We really need a new MJ figure.
  6. More X-Men '97 spoilers on what we could see in S2 sets
  7. That's what I figured but I just wanted to make sure since I also assumed the sets for the first two movies probably sold well enough. It's a pity the Fox movies never got any sets back then whether the X-Men films, Fantastic Four, Daredevil, and Elektra.
  8. Snape looks great and he desperately needed some alterations after being more or less the same minifigure for so many years. Love that we're getting Pansy circa POA. Is the boy in the wheelchair supposed to be any particular character?
  9. Does anybody know why Spider-Man 3 (the Raimi film) didn't get any Lego sets when the first two movies did? I saw that Mega Bloks made sets for Spider-Man 3 so did Lego's license expire?
  10. He's getting a Disney+ show so he's a likely contender for a future CMF series. I don't think his appearance has been noted yet but I'm also of the mind that he might look comic accurate or I hope so anyway.
  11. Yes, I'm going to wait until I have a better idea of what this castle will look like altogether. I'm not impressed at all right now. I never really believed the claim that this would be the most detailed Hogwarts ever made but I thought it would at least be an improvement over previous versions and I'm in fact seeing a downgrade. Daphne is blonde. I'd like to see her since she's Draco's future sister-in-law. And a nice reminder that we never got future Draco, Asteria, and Scorpius.
  12. Too soon lol. Remy fangirls are still in mourning. As for Wonder Man, at least we could potentially see him with best buddy Hank McCoy onscreen. However, his biggest connections should be with Wanda and Vision and both of those are too late. Nor do I imagine we'll see him get anything significant with Carol Danvers like in the comics so I am wondering who the target audience is for his show. Because Secret Invasion didn't have one.
  13. Minifigs all look great including the troll. Great Hall is super disappointing. This doesn't feel like the definitive version. Only 2 long tables? Barely a section for the professors. At least it feels tall enough for once but if those are supposed to be clouds to represent the enchanted ceiling, then another letdown. The swappable sections underneath also feel too small to be of any use. At least the courtyard looks decent. Madam Malkin's feels so miniscule, almost like a microscale set. Really wish we had gotten this shop in a D2C Diagon Alley expansion. The hippogriff isn't to my taste and the mandrake feels like a missed opportunity without any sound. Overall mostly disappointing wave of sets. Minifigs are the only redeeming quality.
  14. I didn't watch it either lol if it wasn't obvious already. But at least there's a comic book version minifig of her as an alternative. I was also thinking that an Avengers CMF would be more interesting if we got comic versions of them. At this point, most of their MCU looks have already been adapted in minifig form. Iron Heart and Wonder Man are both definitely going to flop. Wonder Man has one thing going in its favor which is that if he's still supposed to be an actor in the show, he might get more comic accurate costumes. And so his minifig could maybe pass off as his comic book version which would be nice next to the Avengers and his bestie Beast.
  15. Is Ms. Marvel's look different in The Marvels compared to her show? Tbh I think Legocentrico is probably correct. An X-Men only CMF sounds too good to be true for it to actually happen lol. I would love to be proven wrong. But I definitely think they won't be able to rely on Disney+ shows anymore. I forgot that Daredevil technically won't even be able to be covered. What a waste. In that case, they should just scrap the line because the rest isn't going to sell. Their only selling point was Daredevil and they can't even do that.
  16. Yes, agreed. Even with the mansion set, it's safe to say we'll probably just get the original show's main team roster and really no one else with only 10 slots. No guarantees about Morph, Bishop, Nightcrawler, Sunspot, Forge, Cable, etc. A CMF could cover them along with costume changes like Wolverine in street clothes. In theory, they could throw in comic book versions of the characters not involved in the show like Deadpool. Not to mention there's so many X-Men villains we need like an updated classic Magneto, Mystique, Sabretooth, Dark Phoenix, Mr. Sinister, Apocalypse, Shadow King, Goblin Queen, Lady Deathstrike, Omega Red, Spiral, the classic Brotherhood of Mutants, etc. I guess Juggernaut couldn't work in a CMF as a bigfig but he's too popular not to include in a set down the line. Juggernaut's even fought Spider-Man in a classic Roger Stern issue so he could technically show up in a Spider-Man set. Another Marvel Disney+ CMF series is something I don't see selling well with those shows losing more and more audience viewership outside of Daredevil.
  17. Got it, that's her 90s suit she's wearing in the show. I've never been a fan myself but it's probably her second most iconic look after the Phoenix costumes. Both suits made it into the Lego Marvel Super Heroes game. I hope it gets remade too. I don't have the original figure, only a custom which is fairly well made but still not quite the same. And like the classic Magneto minifig, the Phoenix minifig is outdated now. No dual molded legs and sleeves although the sleeves can be replaced with more accurate ones for Phoenix.
  18. By new suit, do you mean the 90s suit from the show or the new look she's sporting in the comics? X-Men '97 spoilers. If we ever get a new Phoenix minifigure, I hope they use a lighter shade of green for her torso and legs, specifically the lime color that's used for Shaggy from Scooby-Doo. Her yellow accents should all be pearl gold as well.
  19. I would have gone with Rogue because she needed the dual-molded legs most. Plus the budget for a better hairpiece.
  20. For me, it's the waste of all these characters, particularly all the cameo or spoiler characters rumored to appear, that gets to me. Especially as someone who is not an MCU fan and generally doesn't care for 90% of the MCU characters. I like the X-Men and the comic versions of the Marvel characters and this film seems primed to represent at least the former and maybe even the latter to a slight extent. We never got Lego sets on the FoX-Men films or Fox movies in general like Fantastic Four and Elektra so it's very disappointing that the one chance that these characters all could have gotten to finally appear in Lego form won't happen unless they appear in future films like Secret Wars. And even then, the main focus is going to be on the core MCU characters, so outside of Wolverine, Deadpool, and maybe a handful of X-Men (provided they even show up in Secret Wars since there's no guarantee with that), we probably won't get any of them.
  21. It's the 65th anniversary for the movie as well this year so you would think they'd prioritize a set that would actually honor the original film rather than a minidoll set they can release anytime as part of the DP theme. The dragon thing sounds like the only plausible explanation that it might clash with D&D. Like how Gringotts was spaced out the year before D&D since that also has a dragon. I know people were hoping for another Peter Pan style set, themed to BATB, but I have a feeling it was that Pan was a one-off like the train set with the parade floats. That also had people speculate we would get similar sets with more parade floats themed to different movies. Honestly, I'd be surprised if either set sold well enough to warrant more. The Pan set especially was way too overpriced. The lack of Michael and John, the most generic Nana, the scaled down versions of Peter Pan and Tinker Bell which you can get in a much cheaper set, and Wendy not even getting her hairbow, were all enough reasons to avoid this set.
  22. Taylor Swift fans aren't generally Lego fans but from what I've seen of them, if they knew there was a Taylor Swift minifigure, they'd be spreading the news all over social media to make sure everyone is aware and purchases it. But you're right that even if there was a set that happened to feature Taylor's Dazzler, I don't think that would get the same amount of media attention and promotion by her fans as if Lego focused on just her minifig. Maybe a CMF series featuring her would get more traction because the emphasis is on the minifigure rather than a set. I'll post below a few other characters who are now rumored to appear in Deadpool & Wolverine. With all these characters, I do hope we can at least get a future CMF series that might just focus on movie characters who couldn't be allowed to show up in sets otherwise. I see certain characters like MJ and/or Gwen (albeit a non-Spider Gwen version) likely appearing at Oscorp although they may not be the exact same figures as in the Daily Bugle. I'd like to see MJ in another look. Since you mentioned Miles Warren as a potential minifigure, then it would be quite logical to bring in Gwen considering what happens to her between Osborn and Miles Warren. Your list of potential characters all sounds great. I think it's safe to say Madame Web won't be appearing anytime soon. No one's mentioned Wolverine until you just now but he's a perfect choice considering how often he teams up with Spider-Man and now Lego can actually feature him. In theory, I wonder if Deadpool can pop up in an Oscorp set as well since he's also been heavily featured with Spider-Man in the comics now. Carol Danvers as Ms. Marvel and Peter were briefly a thing so it would be nice to get a minifig of Carol as Ms. Marvel, but after The Marvels backlash, I don't see that happening. Jackpot was also a Spider-Man ally so she's a potential choice. I wonder if Spider-Girl, Peter and MJ's daughter, could ever show up. I think she's still the Marvel superheroine with the longest ongoing book. I read that Twilight actually got all 10,000 signatures within a day or two and was the fastest Lego Ideas submission to reach that criteria. Marvel is releasing an omnibus volume of Dazzler later this year featuring her entire original series collected. Generally Marvel only releases omnibi whenever there's a movie coming out promoting a character or franchise. Like Black Widow got her omnibus for her movie, Loki got one with his season 1 show, Captain Marvel and Black Panther with their movies, etc. The Avengers has been getting new volumes with each Avengers film release. Scarlet Witch and Vision got a lot of trade paperback collections on their stories released with WandaVision's debut. It seems too coincidental that there's been rumors about Dazzler's casting for a few months and now Taylor Swift may or may not have hinted at it and Marvel is releasing a Dazzler volume. Whether or not she can get a minifigure if this does happen, is an entirely different story but I do think Lego would be crazy to not try and find a way to incorporate her somewhere.
  23. This is very disappointing especially after how well done the Snow White set was. If they later on release a minifigure version of the set as a diorama, that could at least differentiate it from the playscale minidoll version. Something like the Peter Pan set, since we haven't gotten any more sets in that vein.
  24. I don't know how popular kpop is in the US vs internationally so that may have been a factor. In Taylor Swift's case, her concert movie broke records so I think she'd have a much bigger audience. For example, Beyonce had a concert movie as well last year but it didn't do nearly as well as Taylor's film. I'm not expecting Deadpool and Wolverine sets because of the R-rating but Lego should consider doing something to try and capitalize on all these characters that might be appearinge. Elektra is another character confirmed to appear and we still haven't gotten a minifigure of her. I wouldn't be shocked if Oscorp recycled over a lot of the Daily Bugle minifigs. Don't the Marvel CMF series only utilize Disney+ show characters? Although considering how those have been dwindling in both quality and audience views, it might be time for Lego to consider branching out beyond the Disney+ shows. They didn't even bother with Secret Invasion and I've heard that future shows are either being cancelled or rehauled.
  25. Taylor Swift has potentially hinted that she's playing Dazzler. Swifties are a very passionate fandom so if Taylor really is in Deadpool & Wolverine, it's going to be a missed opportunity that there are no sets that could feature her in minifig form.
