  1. I wonder if there's any chance for a polybag or GWP that could feature Jubilee. The Avengers Tower did get a GWP.
  2. Yes, this gives me a lot of hope that we won't get barebones legs again. Very happy Morph made it in for that reason. I like the roster overall, but the lack of Jubilee is confusing and a bit surprising. I just hope this means we might see her and Nightcrawler in a future CMF. Nightcrawler's exclusion doesn't shock me and it's probably for the best (even though I really want him) because there's no way Lego would do him justice outside of a CMF series. Lots of characters can appear in future sets with different costumes, such as Jean as Phoenix as you mentioned. That one is long overdue along with Spider-Woman and black suit Spider-Man as an SDCC exclusive that really needs a remake. My personal guess is that Magneto will be in his classic red and purple. I have the original figure which is excellent but he really needs dual molded legs. Honestly, I wouldn't even mind if they remade his big M purple costume because the X-Jet minifig was a horrible depiction of his look from the show. That's what I'm expecting but it really feels like such a waste. I'm hearing that Swifties are already on social media asking what comics to get featuring Dazzler. Once they're galvanized, they're all in, and apparently the new Dazzler comic series is inspired by her World Tour. Lego would be crazy to miss out on this synergy because a polybag, exclusively devoted to Taylor's Dazzler and not any other characters hogging attention, could easily break the Internet.
  3. So Dazzler is getting a new ongoing series in the comics. This is the first time she's had a solo book since her original ended in the 80s. Between this, the reprints of the original Dazzler series later in the year, plus Taylor Swift's hints, it seems very likely Taylor Swift will be playing Dazzler in Deadpool & Wolverine. Which leads me to wonder if Lego will try any way to capitalize on this. With actual sets being out of the question, I wonder if Lego can't just release a polybag of a Taylor Swift Dazzler minifigure. I feel that would be an excellent promotional device and sell like hotcakes once the Swifties find out and spread it all over social media.
  4. Jean is another character you could probably get away with without a whole lot of leg printing. In the Marvel Super Heroes video game, she just had a bit of arm printing and leg printing on the side but I'd imagine we wouldn't get even that in the mansion set. Forge without his boots would frankly annoy me but after what they did with Cyclops' legs, it wouldn't surprise me either. You're right about Psylocke. If you look at her minifigure from Marvel Super Heroes, it's exactly as you described. Plain arms with blue hands and then printing on her legs. In comparison, the Elektra minifigure did get arm printing.
  5. The other thing to keep in mind about Nightcrawler isn't just the molds for the tail and ears but also that he has very specific banding around his boots and legs. For the boots especially, he'll need leg printing and dual-molded legs. I doubt we'd get that for him in the X-Mansion, so our best bet for him would be to wait for the next Marvel CMF line and hope he's given one of the X-Men slots. Similarly, a character like Forge has his metal leg and boots. Psylocke has all the ribbons around her arms and legs. Even someone like Elektra would be better off in a new D2C set, like the Oscorp Tower, where they could accurately portray all those details on the legs rather than in a standard set.
  6. For Deadpool fans, this may be some revealing news. The showrunner for X-Men '97 confirmed that Deadpool was off-limits for the show. So I think this pretty much confirms what most of us already knew that he won't be showing up in the X-Mansion set.
  7. I didn't realize the mech Black Panther minifig came from the comics. Is it supposed to be his New Avengers/Illuminati outfit? That reminds me that the Green Goblin construction figure would have been a nice place to include an updated minifig of his Raimi suit. Although knowing Lego, it probably wouldn't include leg printing so the original minifig from the early 2000s would still probably be the better choice. If Lego retained the CMF figures, Wolverine, Storm, and Beast, while dropping all the X-Jet exclusive figures, there would still be 7 slots left for the X-Mansion. Jean, Gambit, Jubilee, Xavier, Bishop, Morph, and Nightcrawler could all fit. Maybe Nightcrawler could be swapped out for Sinister if they want a villain, especially since Nightcrawler was only present in wave 2 merchandise for the series since that dealt with spoilers. But based on their prior track record, I find it hard to believe they'd refrain from reusing the X-Jet minifigs, even though your idea of the X-Jet being a companion set to round out the roster sounds better. I personally think Jean is a guaranteed choice due to her extreme popularity and also the focus given to her in the show. It would be nice to get more SDCC figures in the actual sets, even if this isn't Phoenix Jean. Unfortunately true. I'd love to see a Marvel CMF series just based on the Fortnite designs. Like Silver Surfer, Cable, Patch Wolverine, Dark Phoenix, Mary Jane, X-23, etc.
  8. For Rogue, I wish we could get a minifig that looks like her Lego Fortnite version.
  9. TandN Bricks on Instagram already confirmed that the X-Mansion is themed to X-Men '97 and will look the most different. I don't see Storm being skipped because she's too major an X-Man to exclude and also for diversity's sake. Same reason Jubilee won't be omitted because she provides Asian representation and even Morph as nonbinary representation. I'm okay with Rogue getting skipped if it's the exact same flawed minifig as before. Those mechs would be a great way to see more comic accurate versions of the characters. I absolutely would love to see new helmets for Thor and Cap. Thor especially since the Lego Avengers video game even featured a comic version of him as Ragnarok, the android Thor. That minifig, minus the robot face, is a perfect translation of his classic look. I imagine an Avengers Mansion is still years away since it would probably clash with the Avengers Tower and X-Mansion so that gives Lego a few years to build up a comic Avengers roster in other sets.
  10. You're right, it's more or less the same shade of blue for both his costumes. I think they took some inspiration from how the characters look in the 90s comics rather than just the show. Cyclops is the biggest indicator of that because they gave him dark brown hair whereas in the show, his hair is a reddish brown. In some shots, it looks almost as red as Jean's hair but the minifigure doesn't reflect that. Avengers Mansion is on my wishlist as well. I feel just the Avengers name would help it sell especially if they included a lot of the movie characters but in their comic costumes because they'd still be mostly recognizable. Would love to see Carol as Ms. Marvel, classic Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Vision, etc. Edwin Jarvis should also be a minifig. The problem with minifigs for an Avengers Mansion is that most of them would have to be brand-new since there are so few comic Avengers in minifig form and the few we do have are really old and outdated. If we did get this set, it's likely it would be akin to the X-Mansion minifig count with 10-15 minifigs rather than 25-30 ones. The Daily Bugle and Avengers Tower were at liberty to reuse a lot of minifigs which couldn't be done here.
  11. TandN Bricks on Instagram is saying there won't be another Maleficent set besides the minidoll one.
  12. With 10 characters confirmed, I think it's safe to say it'll be the original team roster. Professor X, Wolverine, Jean Grey, Storm, Cyclops, Beast, Rogue, Gambit, Jubilee, and either Morph or Magneto.
  13. Disappointed it's not a modular. Even though it doesn't technically belong in the city to be put next to Avengers Tower, the Daily Bugle, etc. I would still have liked the option to do so. Just hope it's not open-backed but fully enclosed. They're two different colors.
  14. From what I've heard about the Daily Bugle set, all the civilian characters that don't really resemble the actual characters is deliberate. Lego wanted to just include random civilians because it was cheaper to reuse parts. Marvel said no, they have to be specific characters. This is why we have a Gwen Stacy who doesn't resemble herself at all, in terms of ponytail or clothes, because it originally wasn't mean to be Gwen. They just labeled a random blonde Gwen. And the instructions mention that she's the alter-ego of Spider-Gwen so it's technically not even 616 Gwen. I was hoping we could get Gwen in her classic trenchcoat, like how she appeared in the Lego Marvel Super Heroes video game. And considering how tied she is with the Green Goblin, it would seem almost an omission to snub her. But I don't mind as long as they don't snub MJ again. I'm really surprised Silk doesn't have a minifigure yet. I've heard she might appear in a female Spider-Verse spinoff movie so maybe we'll get more merch for her around then. She's even got a surprise cameo in the Spider-Man 2 PS5 game suggesting she'll be a playable character in future games, so maybe Lego has held off on her because it's better to save her for those later projects. I'm really glad you included the Osborn penthouse as part of the set. The Osborn penthouse is such an iconic part of the Raimi films (especially since there's no Oscorp tower there) with so many significant scenes. Would love to see that balcony recreated along with the Goblin's hidden lair and armory. Maybe a reversible mirror that shows Norman's reflection. Would be cool to get a remake of his movie outfit as well and maybe even Harry as the New Goblin, although since this is a comic set, that's unlikely. But the helmet from the movie could appear as an easter egg in the lair. I forgot about Curt Connors and Miles Warren. They're both must-haves since they're pictured in the Daily Bugle set. Also bigfig Rhino. Including Miles Warren is actually another reason to include Gwen since she's connected to him too. And I'm glad you brought up Scarlet Spider/Ben Reilly. If they featured Ben in his Spider-Man outfit instead of another Scarlet Spider, I'd be fine with that too. Along with a blonde hairpiece and a duplicate Peter Parker face for him to unmask Ben. Wolverine is also a character I thought could very likely show up now, although I wonder if Lego wouldn't give that spot to Deadpool instead since they wanted him the first time around. And Wolverine can show up in just about any set whereas Deadpool can't. I'm not really a Deadpool fan so he's not that important to me but I know lots of people want him. I'd rather get Wolverine, Iceman, the Human Torch, or Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew) as a team-up character. Finally, Oscorp is a wonderful way to feature so many villains because the majority of them had connections to Norman or were created in freak accidents. Doc Ock is tied to Osborn in the Raimi movies, Ultimate universe, and PS4 game. I can see him getting his own lab section. Venom is also a lab creation in the Ultimate Universe and in the PS5 sequel game where Harry is Venom. Electro worked at Oscorp in ASM2. A Sentinel seems like the least they can do. I hope we can expect at least that. Would also love some FoX-Men sets. I doubt we'd ever see the Fox versions of the FF, Daredevil, and Elektra in minifigure form, but the X-Men still get some merchandise from the movies like Funko pops. The Oliver Coipel design specifically. Jubilee was mostly sidelined after the 90s in the comics (as well as other media like the movies and shows). She's really only gotten a revival in the last few years, in terms of comics and media, and there's been speculation that she might be the POV character in new X-Men movies.
  15. The new Simba looks nice, much better than the smaller version. Still hoping this means we might get something similar with a larger Maleficent set with minifigs!
  16. Christopher Daniel Barnes has said he's interested if that's the show I presume you mean. I'm hoping and rooting for Oscorp. With the Daily Bugle retiring by the end of 2025, it makes sense to have a new Spider-Man D2C out in time to replace it. The Baxter Building seems very unlikely when the FF are an untested property. Avengers Tower and Sanctum Sanctorum were only made after the public responded to these locations and franchises. Lego had faith in those sets but especially with a declining MCU, it makes no sense to develop a set that will probably be $350-500 like the Daily Bugle and Avengers Tower, but without the same guaranteed mass appeal. Also even in terms of minifigs, I can't see how they could justify 25-30 characters. The FF movie seems so isolated from the rest of the MCU and they can't even repeat characters like they did with the other two tower sets. When it comes to Oscorp, I'm really hoping we get a better variety of minifigs than the standard sets are giving us, always focused on Spidey, Miles, and Gwen and usually Goblin or Venom as the villains (occasionally Doc Ock or Carnage). We still deserve comic versions of Lizard and Electro. Hobgoblin, Scorpion, and Kraven should be brought back. Based on the lab setting, Lizard and Electro seem very likely. The Osborn connection makes me think Kingpin could show up and if so, why not Elektra as well. This set is the perfect chance to include Deadpool the way the Daily Bugle was able to skirt around Daredevil, Punisher, and Blade's more mature status. Maybe the Human Torch or even all of the FF would be nice. Iceman could get in as Spidey's other Amazing Friend since it's unlikely he'll show up in X-Men '97 sets. Spider-Woman is a must-have at this point. I'd like to see more of the female spider characters because Spider-Gwen is overused. Besides Jessica Drew, hope we can see Spider-Girl considering that for years, she was Marvel's heroine with the longest solo book, and is also relevant again since a younger version of her appears in Ultimate Spider-Man which is currently outselling Amazing Spider-Man. Mary Jane is a must-have and they better not have a stupid excuse not to use her again this time too. She's long overdue for a new figure and in fact, I hope we get a second figure of her as Spinneret. Peter and MJ's daughter from Renew Your Vows, Spiderling, would be nice too. Also want to see more of Peter's classic supporting cast. We've never gotten a Flash Thompson figure or him as Agent Venom. Norman and Harry Osborn are both a must and Liz Allan is a natural choice with Harry around. A 616 Gwen is also overdue especially with the goblin theme.
  17. DC suffered in part because their movies were steadily declining and now Marvel has that same problem. Hence why all the sets we're getting from Marvel go back to their popular movies from before Phase 4. DC does a lot of legacy stuff for Batman like the 60s show, 90s animated show, and Tim Burton movies. I'm surprised Marvel hasn't done anything similar for Spider-Man. Like a set based on Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends (the 80s show, not the new one), the 90s animated series, or even remakes of the Raimi sets. Based on the success of the No Way Home set with the Tobey and Andrew minifigs, it would seem natural to extend on that with sets based exclusively on those movies. Another potential Marvel modular I'm surprised hasn't been brought up yet is the Avengers Compound. It's probably too soon to make since we just got Avengers Tower, but considering it's such an important location in Endgame and would keep the main MCU cast that fans care about, it seems like an ideal choice for a future set. Too bad it still wouldn't offer us a Quicksilver.
  18. Lego wanted to put her in the Daily Bugle but Marvel said no. The lack of any Jessica Drew minifigure, when basically every other spider-related character has appeared in a set, seems to suggest the recurring issue here is Marvel rather than Lego.
  19. She used to wear exclusively blue at Disneyland Paris. Sad that the Mary Poppins Ideas set was rejected (although I was not fond of sequel characters being included) but glad that the riverboat made it. With dragon Maleficent, we can recreate Fantasmic and fill the riverboat with Disney characters.
  20. I don't really like the Simba. His face seems too scrunched up. Is Baby Sven from the Frozen castle new? Don't think I've seen that piece before. The Maleficent dragon is okay. A little on the smaller side but doesn't look bad. I was worried it would be rather cartoony and not fit alongside the minifigure Disney sets. I'm very curious of its scale next to the castle or another dragon like the Gringotts one. Phillip's shield is nice as well. But looking at the Ninjago $150 dragon set makes me wish we got something like that. That Ninjago dragon is absolutely glorious and huge in scale. We're getting so many dragons these past few months that I wonder if Maleficent was downgraded to a small minidoll set for this reason. She deserved much more. Also looking at the Friends sets, there's a superb Bed and Breakfast set which almost looks like a minicastle that would fit well with the Disney theme.
  21. The Durmstrang Ship looks stunning. Do wish it was a bit bigger because it would be even more imposing. Maybe if this is successful we can get a D2C version one day even if the Durmstrang Ship isn't super iconic. The potions classroom looks nice (and thank heaven we're getting classrooms again) but way too expensive. It needs to be at least $30. Madam Malkin's is too small for me to take seriously. It feels like a shop for house elves based on its size. Really wish we could get a version of this shop to fit with the D2C Diagon Alley. $90 for the pint-size Madam Malkin's and Ollivander's feels almost offensive at this point.
  22. The Spider-Man advent calendar is a little disappointing to me. Nothing really all that exciting or new and more or less the same old figures. Would have liked MJ or some new villain included. Wish this had been themed to the X-Men for an X-Mas advent calendar. Maybe next year.
  23. I'm guessing the team roster will reflect what we saw in the promotion for the show rather than in the actual episodes themselves. Nightcrawler was only featured in the wave 2 merch for the show, centering on the spoiler stuff. It's not impossible to imagine he'll be included, but I think the focus will be on the main team roster that the show started off with. Hence why Nightcrawler has had more of a presence than Bishop but Bishop is more likely to be included. Like you said, Nightcrawler is popular enough to include in later sets. Technically, he's even been Spider-Man for a while so it wouldn't be uncalled for if he showed up in a future Spider-Man D2C set like Oscorp. It makes sense for Doctor Strange because his cloak more or less is its own character and can be used in play as a separate piece. You couldn't do that with a cloth cape plus a separate cloth collar. I don't think the others need it. Superman's cape in particular should be dynamic and able to flow.
  24. There's supposed to be a season each year so if we get more sets next year, hopefully he'll show up. Otherwise maybe in another CMF series. The fabric ones feel so cheap lately. Like the new Magneto minifig or the CMF Wanda minifig. The capes get bunched up by their hairpieces that the plastic ones seem almost an improvement.
