  1. You may be aware that Barbossa was running a kiosk at Khazad-dum. However, even more successful - and also unbenownst to Gandalf - was Saruman's Ice Cream Shop @ Caradhras: Now, this also explains why Saruman wanted to have the "One Ring": ... and it also explains why he tried to keep Gandalf from reaching the top of Caradhras. But Reinhold M. managed... It is strange that so many happy customers went for ice cream in such a cold location, but Saruman's ice cream was supposed to be just "magic". I hope you like this.
  2. I have enlarged the first photo so that visitors are able to see something at first glance. Looks ok to me - brick on!
  3. Fine build, blue roof has worked out surprisingly well!
  4. Are there lego lemons in the new friends sets?
  5. Ooops, I made a slight mistake: I meant to place Saruman in front of the kiosk. As it turns out I got him mixed up with Gandalf the White... (which would contradict my introductory line)
  6. ... has been raining all day long...
  7. Charming room - well done!
  8. Yep, that was a rush build. That was my fastest MOC so far
  9. The water has just arrived!
  10. Thanks to Kolonialbeamter, Captain Braunsfeld was provided with a fresh supply of water (rum?). That was greatly appreciated: The Captain was delighted! He was about to say: "Shouldn't this be yellow", but in the end wisely he staid quiet. (the end) And you must not shoot black ladders or shakos, etc. against a black background... Have a nice weekend!
  11. Some time back I have built a ship which was inspired by Tintin's adventures. Now the time has come to disassemble the "Aurora" but before that I wanted to take and present some pictures: I was happy to include the small yellow aircraft. The Aurora was meant to undertake underwater expeditions. Therefore there were two small submarines in its hull. "Doors" would open to let the submarines dive into the water (but you can't really see that well on these pictures...sorry.) What you can see here is that the ship was build in a modular way. It also had sliding doors. The sad thing is: my sons never played with it... Seems I have built it mainly for me. C&C welcome!
  12. Very good to show how this island has developed - and who built the skull!
  13. .. and I was lucky, because the sales event was actually happening while I was away on vacation. But they had a few sets left and as I was eager to get this I bought the second Brick Bounty... Which enabled me to build this MOD - and to show off a bit with that unique pirate guy!
  14. Fine idea to show the progression - let's see what this will look like in the future.
  15. A great "classic pirates" creation. Very well done. (Lots of parrots and monkeys!)
  16. Nice scene and a fine gang of smugglers!
  17. Poor but hard working? I can see lots of bottles in his ship
  18. I am HUGELY impressed. Let us go down on our brick knees to praise The One MugTM. (And I always thought there was only one Kolonialbeamter (colonial officer)...)
  19. .. of course... ... monkeys... how could I forget??? ... I actually had expected some comments about this guy:
  20. Good setting and story - let's hear more of it! Don't worry about plants that were knocked over. Almost every MOC I am posting has some detail which has gone wrong and which I only see once the pictures have been finalized...
  21. Ah, you noticed the "old dark grey" and "new dark grey". It was a deliberate decision (i.e. not dictated by lack of bricks, as it is often the case) to make the rocks look "better". The SNOT technique applied here and there turned out to be almost invisible... And then I changed my usual lighting approach in order to have decent shadows. (probably at the cost of visibility of the dartboard behind Tauriel...)
  22. Quite bad, isn't it? And where is the monkey?
  23. I get Balrogs as they are attracted by apples? That is why you don't see the kiosk in the movie!
  24. You're right, that would be difficult to get into the crow's nests. And as you can clearly see, noone has managed to do so
  25. Thanks everyone! Let me answer a few replies: Yes, Barbossa puts more focus on drinks and apples Gandalf made him cut the scene Exactly what it was meant to be
